It’s been a long 184 days of striking for Hollywood writers but finally, The Writers Guild of America reached an agreement on a three-year minimum basic agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The WGA unanimously voted to lift the union’s strike as of today. The new tentative agreement includes increased health and pension contribution rates, minimum rate increases until 2025, increased health and pension contributions and protections against artificial intelligence, among other points. Members will officially vote on the agreement in early October. SAG-AFTRA, the union representing actors in Hollywood, released a statement congratulating WGA. The union said, “We remain ready to resume our own negotiations with the AMPTP as soon as they are prepared to engage on our proposals in a meaningful way.” – LINK

The release of Static-X‘s Project Regeneration Volume 2 has been pushed from November 3rd to January 26th. Volume 2 features the final vocal recordings and compositions by late frontman Wayne Static. Binnington made 10 saves on 11 shots faced in the first period, and Malcolm Subban made 20 saves in the final two periods. The Blues play in Chicago on Thursday, before playing Dallas in Independence, Missouri, on Saturday night. Brooks Robinson, the Baltimore Orioles legend who made MLB history by winning 16 straight Gold Gloves at third base, has died, the team announced Tuesday. He was 86 years old. An Arkansas native, Robinson signed with the Orioles for $4,000 in 1955 and was soon in uniform for the big-league club. After five seasons of sporadic playing time and struggles at the plate, he broke through in 1960 with an All-Star nod, a third-place finish in MVP voting and his first Gold Glove.

No other American League third baseman would win a Gold Glove until 1976. They called this guy the Human vacuum cleaner. Lots of tributes from baseball players and fans over social.

The New York Jets are planning to sign quarterback Trevor Siemian to their practice squad pending a physical, according to multiple reports.

Siemian’s anticipated signing coincides with persistent questions and criticism surrounding starting quarterback Zach Wilson, who has struggled through the first three weeks of the season after taking over for an injured Aaron Rodgers in Week 1. Siemian, 31, last played as a backup to Justin Fields with the Chicago Bears in 2022. He made two appearances, including one start with Chicago. A six-year NFL veteran, he’s previously played as a starter and a backup with the Denver BroncosNew Orleans Saints and a previous stint with the Jets in 2019.
