Actor Paul Sorvino died yesterday of natural causes.  He was 83 years old. Paul is probably best known for playing mob boss Paul Cicero in “Goodfellas”.  He also played a gangster in the Tom Cruise thriller “The Firm”, and several other movies because, frankly, he was good at it. His other films included “Romeo + Juliet”“Nixon”“Reds”“Dick Tracy”“The Rocketeer”, and the cult classic “The Stuff”. Not a good chunk of time for mobsters…we’ve recently lost FOUR legends from the fictional mob:  Sorvino and Ray Liotta from “Goodfellas”, James Caan from “The Godfather”, and Tony “Paulie Walnuts” Sirico from “The Sopranos”.

JoJo Siwa said Candace Cameron Bure is the rudest celebrity she’s ever met.  She filmed a TikTok video, where she flashed images of celebrities for different categories. JoJo also said that Zendaya is her celebrity crush, Miley Cyrus is the nicest, and Elton John is the coolest.

Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will continue sharing time as hosts of Jeopardy! According to Variety, Sony Entertainment has signed long-term deals with Bialik and Jennings to moderate the classic game show. Bialik has been tapped to host primetime specials on ABC, including Celebrity Jeopardy! Sony chose them to replace legendary host Alex Trebek after his death in 2020. There was a long line of guest hosts, and the short-lived tenure of Mike Richards before Bialik and Jennings landed the gig.

Bre Tiesi and Nick Cannon are proud parents of a baby boy, and their son’s name is just as unique as their relationship. Shortly after announcing the birth to her first child on Monday, Nick Cannon’s 8th, Tiesi shared a new vlog on her YouTube that detailed her unmedicated home birth. During the 11-minute clip, Tiesi and Cannon showed off their little one, taking audiences to his nursery, and showing off a cake for the baby boy that they named Legendary.  Later in the video, Cannon adorably tries to get the newborn to look at him, saying, “Hey, Legendary,” before changing his diaper on a changing table with a neon sign which read “Legendary Love” above it. The video showed off sweet moments with the proud parents, including Tiesi smiling alongside Cannon as they held onto their baby boy.

Tom Morello got accidentally tackled on Saturday during Rage Against the Machine’s show in Toronto . . . by his own security. They were in the middle of playing “Killing in the Name”, when a fan jumped up and started running across the stage.  The security guard who was chasing him accidentally took Tom down instead. Zack de la Rocha paused the song after he saw what happened.  He said, quote, “Whoever the [eff] gets wise like that, don’t try that [crap] again.  Sorry, we’re cool, we love y’all, but don’t do that!” Tom was okay, though.  He got right back up and started playing again. Ticketmaster is defending its new “dynamic pricing” program . . . you know, the one that made some tickets to the new Bruce Springsteen tour cost up to $5,000.  Here’s what they’re saying:Tickets like that, with so-called “variable prices,” only represent 11.2% of the overall tickets sold . . . while 88.2% were sold at fixed prices that ranged from $59.50 to $399.  BEFORE added service fees, of course. Ticketmaster also claims that the average price of all tickets sold so far is $262, with 56% being sold for under $200 face value. And only 1.3% of all tickets sold for the tour so far have gone for more than $1,000.

Finally! Adele has officially rescheduled her Las Vegas residency dates, kicking off November 18 at Caesars Palace. Production issues on the show at Caesars Palace led her to postpone her entire residency just one day before she was due to take to the stage in January. In addition to the 24 rescheduled shows, 8 new shows have been added. The residency will now run from November 18, 2022, through March 25, 2023. Access will be limited with priority given to fans who held tickets for the original show dates or had previously registered and been waitlisted for Weekends With Adele. Eligible fans will receive an email on Wednesday (August 3) to get tickets. On Instagram, Adele wrote, “Words can’t explain how ecstatic I am to finally be able to announce these rescheduled shows. I truly was heartbroken to have to cancel them. But after what feels like an eternity of figuring out logistics for the show that I really want to deliver, and knowing it can happen, I’m more excited than ever! Now I know for some of you it was a horrible decision on my part, and I will always be sorry for that, but I promise you it was the right one. To be with you in such an intimate space every week has been what I’ve most been looking forward to and I’m going to give you the absolute best of me. Thank you for your patience, I love you ♥️ Adele.”

U2 is rumored to be the first band to take up residency at the new billion-dollar MGM sphere when it opens at the Venetian Hotel next year. Billboard says U2 will “be part of a residency that will be spread out over several months and be performed on non-consecutive days.” The nearly $2 billion dollar arena will hold a standing crowd of 20,000.

Netflix has released the first official trailer for its upcoming The Sandman series, an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s DC Comics book series that ran from 1989 to 1996. Described as a blend of myth and dark fantasy, The Sandman follows the Master of Dreams known as Dream, Morpheus and other names. Dream, played by Tom Sturridge, is captured and held prisoner for a century and his imprisonment sends a spiraling effect across both the dreaming and waking worlds. As Dream is freed by mortals, he seeks to restore his former power and establish order. On his journey, Dream will need to track down sacred magical items within the world of Dreaming assisted by head librarian Lucienne. There they will be met with foes such as the escaped nightmare Corinthian (Boyd Holbrook) and the demon Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie). THE SANDMAN premieres August 5.

Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ are the world’s three biggest streaming services. They also dominate the list of the most pirated shows. Using Google search data, Broadband Choices looked at “the number of searches for online streams and torrents for original programs from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Apple TV in 138 countries around the world.” What they found is Squid Game, the biggest show in Netflix history, is also popular on torrent sites: the Emmy-nominated survival series is the most pirated title in 57 countries, including the United States, Germany, and South Korea. Squid Game is followed by WandaVision (19 countries), Money Heist (18 countries), and The Mandalorian (nine countries). Stranger Things (six countries) is in fifth place with six counties, but the data is only through June 2022; if the same research was done now, following the culmination of season four, it would probably rank higher.

Here’s the full list:

  1. Squid Game – 57 countries
    2. Wandavision – 19 countries
    3. Money Heist – 18 countries
    4. The Mandalorian – 9 countries
    5. Stranger Things – 6 countries
    6. Bridgerton – 6 countries
    7. Moon Knight – 5 countries
    8. The Witcher – 4 countries

Game of Thrones in 4K HDR is set to arrive on HBO Max this August. You’ll get to stream all eight seasons. Only those who subscribe to HBO Max’s ad-free plan, which costs $14.99/month, will get access to the new formats. Luckily, you won’t have to wait to see House of the Dragon in 4K, either — HBO says it’s debuting the Game of Thrones spinoff in 4K.

A recent study has found that 80 per cent of live music fans in the US believe attending a live show alone sounds like an enjoyable experience. The solo show-goer survey was conducted by music discovery platform Bandsintown with data collected from 1,106 music fans. The study also found that 34 per cent of respondents had plans to attend a show alone in the next 12 months. “Going to a show solo is the ultimate level of fandom,” Fabrice Sergent, co-founder and managing partner of Bandsintown, told NME. “Fans love the artist so much that they feel great going on their own.” Sergent added: “Fans either attend live events because of the social experience, the music, the artist, or a mix of both. We typically see rock artists attract the highest level of fans willing to go solo with 33 per cent of fans of rock artists saying they would go to a show on their own.” Following rock fans, the data showed that alternative fans were 13 per cent likely to go alone, with country fans at 10 per cent. The survey also showed that dance music fans were least like to attend alone, with only one per cent of fans saying they’d attend solo. Bandsintown also found an uptick in solo concert going in comparison to before the pandemic, with nearly 70 per cent of respondents sharing that they’ve attended a show alone in the past 12 months and 80 per cent of music fans saying that if the option was going alone or not going at all, they’d be happy to attend a show solo.

Melanie Rauscher, who competed on two versions of “Naked and Afraid” on Discovery Channel, has died unexpectedly at just 35 years old.  Her obituary said she “passed away suddenly” on July 17, though further details about her death were not given. TMZ confirmed Melanie’s death was “mysterious,” reporting her body was found “near cans of dust cleaner” at a residence at which she had been dog-sitting for vacationing friends. There were no indications of foul play, there was no note, and there was no other drug paraphernalia. Melanie was on “Naked and Afraid” in 2013, returning for “Naked and Afraid XL” two years later. A celebration of Raushcer’s life is being planned for October in Philadelphia. Family and friends have asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PTSD Foundation of America.

Auburn University basketball coach Bruce Pearl is taking his team to Israel for some games.  And he’s been there before, so he had a very stern warning for his players.

He told them not to splash or FART in the Dead Sea, because it HURTS.  And he should know, because he tried it.  (???)

Why?  Well, it all comes down to science.

The sea is SUPER salty.  It’ll burn if it gets in your eyes or any bodily opening.  That includes your booty if you fart.

But at least the high salinity makes for easy floating.  Just be sure to remain tightly clenched.
