There’s been talk recently that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson could actually be brothers. And it turns out that talk was started by Matthew’s own mother, Kay.
Matthew says, quote, “We’re all sitting around in Greece one night talking and my mom out of nowhere in a little pause goes, ‘Oh, I knew your dad, Woody.'”
“And she goes, ‘Just saying, we might have frequented the same similar place out in West Texas one time when he was on furlough.'”
He added, quote, “And we all went, ‘What? . . . Now we gotta go do some DNA tests.'”
Apparently, Kay was separated from Matthew’s dad right around the time she “knew” Woody’s father. So . . .
- MAURY POVICH HAS ENTERED THE CHAT – and has now offered to “come out of retirement. We could do primetime, ‘DNA, Maury’s back with Woody and Matthew,’” the former “Maury” host shared in a video to E! News.
- “I’ll even get my showtime color back in my hair. Woody’s got my number. I’m ready,” Povich quipped.
- McConaughey was all smiles, reacting to the video, as he tapped his finger to his head.
- “I like the way you’re thinking,” McConaughey said to Povich’s video message (People)
- Post Malone’s breakup with ex-girlfriend Ashlen Diaz is messy again.
- Radar Online reports that Martorell Law has sued Malone and Diaz because the law firm initially helped them in a palimony settlement.
- In 2018, Diaz filed to get money from Post even though they were never married. Diaz allegedly promised the law firm a cut of the settlement. Martorell Law claims Malone and Diaz cut their own deal and left the firm without any money.
- In the suit, Martorell Law said it would release key evidence to show Malone was emotionally and physically abusive to his ex and coerced Diaz to settle their financial arrangement.
- There has been no response from Post Malone or Ashlen Diaz on the matter.
Did you have a Cabbage Patch Kid doll? Maybe you don’t know about the craze that preceded Black Friday madness. There’s a new documentary coming to theaters that uncovers the dark side of the beloved children’s toy. Here’s part of the trailer. (People stampeded in stores, and ripped dolls out of children’s hands.) Of Note: The documentary is called “Billion Dollar Babies” and comes out November 24th, which just happens to be Black Friday. It’s narrated by Neal Patrick Harris and includes Connie Chung (both heard in the clip).
Cindy Crawford was BRAND NEW when she appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 1986. And looking back on it now, she doesn’t like the way Oprah treated her. After commenting on her body, Oprah made Cindy stand up and show it off to the audience. On that new Apple TV+ series “The Super Models”, Cindy says, quote, “I was like the chattel or a child, like be seen and not heard. When you look at it through today’s eyes, when Oprah’s like, ‘Stand up and show me your body,’ like show us why you’re worthy of being here.” She added, quote, “In the moment I didn’t recognize it. Only when I look back at it and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that was so not OK really.’ Especially from Oprah!”
This is just a little TOO perfect: Taylor Swift was spotted out on the town in New York City on Tuesday night, arm-in-arm with . . . SOPHIE TURNER. Sophie just announced her split from Joe Jonas . . . who just happens to also be Taylor’s ex. What . . . or WHO . . . do you think Taylor and Sophie talked about? Taylor and Joe dated about 15 years ago . . . which should make you feel incredibly old. And Taylor claimed that he broke up with her in a 27-second phone call. (Check out some pictures of Taylor and Sophie’s Eff You Joe night.)
Paul McCartney wrote “Hey Jude” for a young Julian Lennon . . . to offer him comfort during the divorce of his parents, John and Cynthia Lennon. And Julian admits he has a “love-hate” relationship with it. While he’s absolutely thankful for it, he says, quote, “I’ve probably heard that song and heard renditions of [it] more than most people alive.” He says friends send him videos of, quote, “babies in nappies [singing it] . . . which I really don’t need.” Something else he doesn’t like about the song is that it’s, quote, “a stark and dark reminder of, actually, what happened” . . . a.k.a. that his dad walked out on him and his mom. The “Hollywood Reporter” has released its inaugural list of music’s 25 Platinum Players.
These are the artists who, quote, “move the needle on culture. They own their narratives. They create songs and albums that define a generation and connect with listeners all over the world,” and defined the year in music. They are, in alphabetical order: Beyoncé . . . boygenius . . . Zach Bryan . . . Burna Boy . . . Luke Combs . . . Miley Cyrus . . . Lana Del Rey . . . Drake . . . Billie Eilish . . . Karol G . . . Ice Spice . . . Jelly Roll . . . Coco Jones . . . Jungkook . . . Noah Kahan . . . Lil Uzi Vert . . . Metro Boomin . . . Nicki Minaj . . . Kim Petras . . . Peso Pluma . . . Olivia Rodrigo . . . Taylor Swift . . . SZA . . . Tems . . . Lainey Wilson.
Uber has a new ad campaign that’ll be fronted by a psychopathic vigilante. Well, a FAKE one, anyway. Robert De Niro will star in the ads as his “Taxi Driver” character, Travis Bickle. You know, the guy who looks in the mirror and says, “You talkin’ to me?” (WARNING: Here’s an uncensored clip, featuring an F-bomb.) The ads are being shot in London this week. It’s not clear if they’ll air in the U.S., but obviously, they’ll be available to all online. A source says, quote, “Signing up to commercials is selling out a bit, but obviously he’s had a very expensive personal life.” Those expenses include $1 million a year in alimony to his ex-wife Grace Hightower . . . not to mention a new little mouth to feed. (Page Six)
Tom Hanks is down to get dirty, if it means going into space. He’s willing to do all the onboard chores like cleaning toilets, serving food, folding clothes, and stowing the gear. He says, quote, “If there was room, I would be the guy that cleans up, makes jokes, tells stories and keeps everybody entertained. I’m your man. I would probably sign up right now! . . . “That might be a good idea, I’ll do all the work, that way the others could be free to do other stuff.” (People)

The next big thing to do for STL CITY SC was to clinch a playoff spot and at the top of the western conference that seemed pretty likely to happen this week or next but they had to at least draw in what was said to be the most important match of the season so far last night when CITY was to take on LAFC here at CITY PARK. LAFC who is third in the west is the reigning MLS champ and is riding that 3-0 win over city from earlier this season. Well, CITY did it. With a nil-nil draw but a very exciting game in front of a charged up sold out St Louis crowd they clinched their playoff spot. City SC is five points up on second-place Seattle, which is even on games with City SC. City SC became just the third team in MLS history to have at least 50 points and make the postseason in its first season. It was the first 0-0 tie for the club and its third tie in a row after having just two in the first 26 games. City SC is winless in its past four games and plays at Minnesota United on Saturday. It was the eighth shutout for goalkeeper Roman Burki. – SOCCER 101 podcast later today. City SC clinches playoff spot with some help after 0-0 tie with LAFC (stltoday.com)
The Cardinals fell 8-2 to the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch last night. They are out of playoff contention and have some injuries so it half looked like a spring training game out there. The Cardinals (67-85) came into the night having played 1,991 games since the start of the 2011 season. They’d mathematically been in postseason contention for 1,988 of those games. Wednesday night marked the first time they’d played a game without a chance at making the playoffs since the final game of the 2018 season. – Cardinals fall behind early and can’t recover in 8-2 loss to the Brewers (stltoday.com) – Cards BREWERS TODAY FOR SOME DAY BASEBALL here at Busch 1215 start
