Imagine your significant other hooking up with one of your heroes, so now you have to HATE that person forever. Well, I don’t know if Harry Styles was ever one of Jason Sudeikis’ heroes, but he can’t be anymore . . . because he’s giving the business to Jason’s ex, Olivia Wilde. Jason and Olivia’s former nanny spilled a bunch of tea to a British tabloid.  She claims Jason was totally blindsided by the relationship . . . which he only discovered because she left her Apple Watch behind one day, and he found a bunch of flirty text messages on it. She says, quote, “He was crying and a mess, saying, ‘She left us. She left us!’  He was so brokenhearted, I felt for him.” The nanny also claims Jason once threw himself under Olivia’s car several times to stop her from leaving to see Harry.  Quote, “She went back into the house and he went in, it was back and forth. “He said he was doing it on purpose to make her late going to see Harry.” Jason eventually fired the nanny in a drunken rage, because she was messaging Olivia. Jason and Olivia released a joint statement calling the nanny’s claims, quote, “false and scurrilous,” as well as “incredibly upsetting.”  They say she’s been harassing them and their family and friends for 18 months.

Is James Corden as sweet and gentle as he seems on TV?  There’s at least one guy who doesn’t think so.  His name is Keith McNally, and he owns a restaurant called Balthazar in New York City. And yesterday, he posted on Instagram that he’s BANNING Corden because he’s, quote, “a tiny cretin of a man” and “the most abusive customer to my servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.” Then he shared two examples of Corden being a rude, entitled jerk and taking his anger out on the servers when he had issues.  One involved a hair in his food. In the other incident, Corden’s wife ordered an egg yolk omelet, and there was, quote, “a little bit of egg white mixed in with the egg yolk,” which set him off. McNally added, quote, “He behaved similarly in my former restaurant, Cafe Luxembourg, a few years back.”  No word yet from Corden.

Kevin Spacey is currently on trial for allegedly trying to force himself on an underage boy back in 1986. The alleged victim, Anthony Rapp, is 40 years old now, and he’s suing Kevin for $40 million. Kevin took the stand yesterday, and revealed something he’s never spoken about before.  He said, quote, “I grew up in a very complicated family dynamic.  My father was a white supremacist and neo-Nazi. “It meant that my siblings and I were forced to listen to hours and hours of my father lecturing us about his beliefs . . . [He] used to yell at me at the idea that I might be gay.” Spacey said he also REGRETS that he apologized when Rapp first accused him.  He said the #MeToo movement was gaining steam at the time, and he was advised not to push back, or he would come off as a “victim shamer.” He added, quote “I’ve learned a lesson, which is never apologize for something you didn’t do.” Spacey got a partial victory yesterday, when the judge threw out Rapp’s claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress.  But Spacey is still on trial for sexual assault and battery.

Ralph Macchio’s son realized just how popular his dad was after seeing him in old teen magazines. On “Good Morning America” yesterday, Ralph said when his son was five years old he saw the magazines and said, quote, “Dad was huge and we missed it!” His son Daniel is now 26.  Ralph also has a 30-year-old daughter named Julia who was actually on “Cobra Kai”.  She played Daniel LaRusso’s cousin who offers parenting advice.

Zendaya plays a tennis pro in her upcoming movie “Challengers”, and she took her prep seriously . . . becoming good enough at tennis that she did most of her own playing onscreen. The director says, quote, “She’s wonderful.  I mean, wow.  We edited the movie and we almost actually don’t use any of her double.  She’s so good.” “Challengers” is described as a “sexy comedy,” in which a love triangle develops when Zendaya’s character coaches her player-husband for a big match against his childhood best friend . . . who’s also her ex.

The first teaser for the “Christmas Story” sequel is here . . . but it doesn’t seem to include any new footage . . . just an extreme closeup of Peter Billingsley, as the adult Ralphie, putting on his glasses. The movie is called “A Christmas Story Christmas”, and it hits HBO Max on November 17th. Billingsley isn’t the only returning cast member.  Scott Schwartz and R.D. Robb are returning as Ralphie’s friends Flick and Schwartz . . .  Ian Petrella is back as his brother Randy . . . and Zack Ward returns as the bully Scut Farkus.

When it came out in 1996, it was a game-changer — a blockbuster that favored special effects-heavy spectacle over story, character development, even its impressive cast. Universal Pictures is gearing up for another round of storm chasing action. There’s a new script by the writer of The Revenant’s, which is apparently so good that Steven Spielberg flipped over it, to the point that it’s being fast-tracked. Oh, and the title, at least for now: It’s Twisters.

“Days of Our Lives” moved from NBC to the Peacock streaming service last month . . . and dove straight into the GUTTER.  Last Thursday’s episode featured the first THREE-WAY in the history of daytime TV. If it matters to you, the characters involved were Allie Horton, Chanel Dupree, and the very lucky Alex Kiriakis.  Well, you might want to check on Grandma, because chances are she is NOT okay.  A lot of longtime viewers who somehow know how to navigate social media have been complaining.  Here are some of their comments:

  1. “DAYS of our Lives is disgusting now!!  I have watched for over 40 years.  I didn’t know it could get any more disgusting but now they have young people having threesomes!  No wonder our country [is] spiraling out of control.”
  1. “Today’s episode was disgusting.  Days has gone too far with the Allie, Chanel, Alex storyline.   This is obscene.  I’m done!”
  1. “Well today’s show with the threesome was the last straw.  I’ve been trying to stay with the show because I have watched it since I was a kid and I’m 59, so a long time.  But I’m done. This is just too much and I don’t support their views anymore.  It’s so sad but the move to Peacock is going to be the end of the show for the long timers.  Makes me mad they took it away from us.  Bye Days.”
  1. “I’m really shocked and highly disappointed in Days bringing on a threesome.  It’s an all-time low for me for Days to be so desperate to do this.  Where do you draw the line, writers?”

Ice Cube says some heavy hitters are trying to take out his BIG3 league.  Former NBA player, podcaster, and BIG3 coach Stephen Jackson tweeted a video encouraging fans to support the league that features former NBA greats. Cube retweeted the post and added some salt to the recipe.  He wrote, “Appreciate you @DaTrillStak5. We definitely need everybody’s support. The @nba and @espn are doing everything in their powers to ignore or destroy @thebig3.” Cube didn’t cite any examples, but it’s not the first time he accused the NBA of not being BIG3-friendly.  In a 2020 interview, Cube said, “The NBA hasn’t been the nicest to the BIG3. Of course, publicly, they say all the right words. But we know privately, there’s things done behind the scenes [with] sponsors, broadcasters, blah blah blah… It did tarnish my fandom a bit.”

BTS announced yesterday they will serve their mandatory military duties.  In case you didn’t know, all able-bodied men in South Korea between 18 and 28 are required to do at least 18 months in the military. BTS was allowed to delay their duty until 30.  But member Jin, who is 29 and the oldest, will be enlisting soon after his solo project is released later this month. Then the others will follow at some point.  The group will get back together sometime in 2025 after they all complete their service. But don’t worry ARMY, an exec from their label said, quote, “In the short term, individual activities for several of the members are planned into the first half of 2023 . . .And we have secured content in advance, which will enable BTS to continue their engagement with fans for the foreseeable future.” Having the boys serve could cost South Korea BILLIONS of dollars.  As it is, they make the country more than $3.6 billion a YEAR . . . that’s equivalent to about 26 mid-size companies.   They’re also responsible for one in every 13 tourists who visit South Korea.

DJ Shaquille O’Neal tried to set a Guinness World Record last month at the the Lost Lands Festival. Performing under his moniker DJ Diesel, Shaq took the stage after putting the call out to his fans. “Should we go for Guinness world record for biggest moshpit at@lost_lands???,” he tweeted. It looked like the fans came prepared to give Shaq what he was asking for as the mosh pit activity was heavy during his set. As for whether Shaq completed the “largest mosh pit” at Lost Lands, that may be hard to figure out.  When DevilDriver claimed to have broken the Guinness World Record for “largest circle pit” at 2007’s Download Festival, the Guinness committee rejected the attempt due to the inability to “define where any circle/mosh pit starts and ends.”  So an official record may be hard to come by where the “largest mosh pit” is concerned.

We now have a new favorite Kellyoke and who knew this actor could sing this good?! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson joined Kelly Clarkson to pay tribute to Loretta Lynn. The two performed her very first #1 hit “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind).” The country icon passed away on Oct. 4th at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, at the age of 90.  It’s a kickass duo and The Rock held his own with powerhouse vocalist Kelly Clarkson.

Journey has announced a 2023 50th-anniversary tour (LINK) featuring Toto. The Freedom Tour will kick off on Feb. 4 and continue through  April 25. You can see a complete list of dates HERE. Tickets for all dates will be available beginning Oct. 21.  So far…the closest this show is making it’s way to the STL area is Springfield, Missouri.

There wasn’t a dry eye on “Dancing with the Stars” last night.  Selma Blair had to bow out due to her MS.  Here she is breaking the news to her partner, and talking about how sad she is to leave, but glad she danced.  She and the entire cast were in tears during her final dance.  The judges gave her perfect 10s.

Even Mariah Carey knows when it’s too early for her famous Christmas song.  She tweeted (LINK) a couple things to let us know.  As she says, “not yet”, and another says “It’s almost time.”

Last week TMZ said that Brandy – the R&B singer –  was hospitalized after a possible seizure at her home in Los Angeles.  Sources said EMTs were sent to Brandy’s house around noon last Tuesday.  On Wednesday, Brandy posted an update on her condition on social media.  She wrote, “To my beloved fam, friends, and starz thank you for sending love and light my way. I am following doctors’ orders and getting the rest I need due to dehydration and low amounts of nutrition. Thank you for your prayers and support. Grateful for you all, see you soon.”

While onstage during Five Finger Death Punch’s show in his hometown, Denver, Friday night, singer Ivan Moody said he was “retiring” from heavy metal after one more album with the band. Delivering the news with his two kids onstage, Moody said. While speaking to the Denver crowd, Moody added “I owe you everything, Colorado, Five Finger Death Punch and every knucklehead on this planet, thank you.”

Cardinal infielders Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt are among eight nominees in the National League for the 2022 Hank Aaron Award. The award recognizes the most outstanding offensive performance from each league from the regular season. The winner will be selected by a combination of fan votes and the votes of a committee of former MLB stars, including Ken Griffey Jr., Chipper Jones, Pedro Martínez, John Smoltz, Johnny Bench, Craig Biggio, Eddie Murray and Robin Yount. Goldschmidt batted .317 with 35 home runs and 115 RBI. His .981 OPS leads the National League as well. Not far behind, Arenado was fourth in the NL with an OPS of .891 in addition to his 30 home runs and 103 RBI. Since the award’s inception in 1999, a St. Louis Cardinal has only won the award twice, both belonging to Albert Pujols, who won in 2003 and in 2009. Goldy has won it before but it was as a Diamondback (LINK)

Russell Wilson had a chance to put together a drive that could have started to endear him to Denver Broncos fans. And then another chance. And another. The Broncos had three possessions when they were tied 16-16 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. One came at the end of regulation and then there were two to start overtime. All three ended in punts, with no points. There was only one first down in those drives and it came on a run. Then Denver’s special teams made a huge mistake. Montrell Washington muffed a punt when a blocker was pushed back into him. A rookie for the The Chargers recovered and they figured it into a game-winning field goal from an injured kicker for the 19-16 win in overtime (LINK).

OK so besides Tyson, who is a boxer you’d wanna see again in the ring. On the older end of things? Well… Roy Jones Jr. is returning to the ring … the boxing legend has inked a deal with Celebrity Boxing, and now the promotion is seeking a big-name social media star or celebrity for the Hall of Famer to fight!   Jones Jr is 53-years-old and last fought in November 2020 against Mike Tyson … an 8-round exhibition match that was declared a draw. Most fans agreed it was a fun fight … and a good event. This Celeb Boxing outfit is the same one that put on fights with famous people in the past … like the Lamar Odom vs. Aaron Carter fight last year. Roy Jones Jr. held multiple world titles in four different weight classes in his younger days.

I know some don’t like it but I for one am a big fan of alternate jerseys, or at least giving em a go. I love the color rush jerseys in the NFL and some alternate ones in the NBA usually end up cool with the exception of a few. The Boston Celtics came up with a special way to honor Bill Russell this season … with the late Hall of Famer getting a tribute on the team’s newest alternate jersey. The Cs made the announcement yesterday via IG with photos of Jaylen BrownJayson TatumAl Horford, and Grant Williams rockin’ the new gear — and they’re pretty dope in my opinion. The jerseys are dark green, black, and gold featuring 11 gold diamonds on the sides … to symbolize the number of NBA championships Russell had won during his career. There’s also another set of 11 gold diamonds surrounding Russell’s No. 6 jersey number on the waistband … and the new scripted Celtics wordmark was inspired by a Bar & Grill spot Russell owned in the 1960s.

The Celtics also shared a tribute video of the jersey release … showing throwback highlights of Russell and what he meant not only to the NBA but to the world. The Celtics will wear the tribute gear 11 times this year — another homage to his title wins — and will start with their season opener against the 76ers on Tuesday.

You guys see the aftermath of the Tennessee upset over Alabama? One of those swarm the field and tear down the field goalposts moments. The Tennessee Volunteers football team is seeking help to replace the goalpost fans tore down after their upset win over Alabama on Saturday … by starting a fundraiser for the cause. They’re serious, too — they shared a link to their campaign via Twitter … one day after Tennessee fans threw the goalpost into the river to celebrate the victory. “Y’all remember how we tore the goalposts down, hauled em out of Neyland and dumped em in the Tennessee River? Yeah that was awesome,” the team said. “Anywho, turns out that in order to play next week’s game, we need goalposts on our field. Could y’all help us out?”

FYI, Tennessee will need that goalpost to play their Oct. 22 home game against UT Martin. The team even found a way to troll the Crimson Tide on the donation page — including using the final score as a dollar amount. “Give $52.49. Final score of the breathtaking game.” There’s also a $16 option — the number of seasons since Tennessee beat ‘Bama — and a $1,019.15 choice … which is the number of fans who sold out the Vol’s stadium. As of Monday morning, the fundraiser has already received over $75k — half of what they need — from over 1,911 donors. BTW, the fans also cost the Vols $100k for storming the field.

Guardians and Yankees finish up their best of 5 series today at 3:07 Central. And the Phillies and Padres get their best of 7 started for the NLCS.
