Michael Constantine of: ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ passed away, he was 94. He was iin the tv version too.  He was  Gus Portokalos in the Big Fat Greek movies and the short-lived television show. Telling us to put Windex on aches and pains and giving his daughter and new husband a new house were some of the heartwarming moments from the story.  Constantine won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a comedy for his role in the television show Room 222. The show was groundbreaking in 1970 for its diverse cast and groundbreaking subject matter.

The children of Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme are seeking protection against him because he’s “scary,” yells at their mother and drinks and drives with them in the car … according to new legal docs. Homme’s sons, 10-year-old Orrin and 5-year-old Wolf, have filed for domestic violence restraining orders against him through their mom, Brody Dalle, alleging they are scared he is going to hurt them. According to the request filed in court … Orrin claims there was a recent incident where Homme grabbed his private parts, and he also alleges his father drinks alcohol while his kids are in the car with him. Orrin also accuses Homme of physical abuse, such as flicking his ears, hitting his head, poking his chest and throwing things at him — while calling him fat and allegedly making threats about murdering Brody’s boyfriend. According to the docs … the younger son, Wolf, alleges Homme calls his mother curse words, drinks and drives, grabs their necks and ears — and Wolf claims he’s scared when he goes to Dad’s house. They’re asking the court to grant restraining orders, requiring their father to stay 100 yards away from them and the family dog at all times. Homme’s attorney, Susan Wiesner, tells us, “Ms. Dalle has previously brought these claims to the police, DCFS, and the presiding judge of the family law court, all of whom have declined to take any action based upon these spurious claims.” As we’ve reported … Homme and his ex have had a very volatile relationship since she filed for legal separation (LINK) in November 2019 and a month later, divorce. She got a restraining order against him claiming he showed up to her house drunk and head-butted her, and a few months later he got one against her … claiming she was trying to get him arrested (LINK) for violating it.

Back in the ’80s, before he made it big, STEVE BUSCEMI was a New York City firefighter.  So when the 9/11 attacks happened, he rushed back to his old unit to volunteer. And on MARC MARON’s “WTF” podcast, he said he still suffers from PTSD.  Quote, “I was only there for like five days, but when I stopped going and tried to just live my life again, it was really, really hard. “I was depressed, I was anxious, I couldn’t make a simple decision.  All those things.  It’s still with me.  There are times when I talk about 9/11 and I’m right back there.  I start to get choked up and I realize, ah, this is still a big part of me.” Luckily, he didn’t suffer any physical health issues . . . but in a new essay (LINK) in “Time” magazine, he talked about those who did.  Quote, “‘Never forget,’ everyone said.  Some people have no choice . . .”Never forget, because people are still struggling.  People are still dying.”

Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson will host Sunday, Sept. 12th, at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The event will have Dave Chappelle, Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, Colin Jost, Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, Jay Pharoah, Jimmy Fallon, John Mulaney, Michael Che, Ronny Chieng, Tom Segura, and Wanda Sykes.  No cellphones, cameras, or recording devices will be permitted during the show. So many great charities you can donate to, such as 911day.org.

KATHRYN PRESCOTT from “Skins” and “A Dog’s Journey” is currently in the ICU after being hit by a cement truck while crossing the street in New York on Tuesday. She already went through surgery and has a broken pelvis in two places, broken legs, broken foot and her left hand. Her twin sister, MEGAN PRESCOTT, broke the news on Instagram (LINK).  She said Kathryn is lucky to be alive and narrowly avoided paralysis. Megan is also asking for her story to be shared because she’s trying to get U.S. government clearance to come over from the U.K. to help take care of her sister, since she says she’s all alone….here is her post…She is alone in New York with no family members. I need help getting to New York to support her recovery. I will have to help her until she can start to walk again. I need to be there to help her with literally everything as she will be able to do incredibly little by herself. She will be in rehab for a very long time and will need 24/hr care even after she leaves the hospital. I applied to the US Embassy for exemption from the current restrictions banning any non-US citizens into the US and was denied earlier today and I am devastated. I am double vaccinated, I had a PCR test yesterday and can fly at the drop of a hat. I have documents from the hospital confirming the extent of Kathryn’s injuries and am willing to do anything to get to her as soon as humanly possible. If anyone knows of ANY way I can appeal the US Embassy’s decision to reject my application for exemption from the travel ban please please reach out. PLEASE SHARE and PLEASE TAG I don’t know what to do with myself. I have to be able to get to my sister to care for her and right now I have no way of doing so. I know there is so much going on in the world right now but I am heartbroken that I can’t be with my twin sister in this horrible time in her life when she desperately needs me – I don’t want her to go through this alone. Please please if anyone can help in any way PLEASE reach out. Please don’t message or try to contact Kat right now, if you need her desperately please contact me, her managers or her agent. She needs to rest at the moment

PATTON OSWALT is requiring people who come to his upcoming concerts to show either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. Unfortunately, the venues for five of those shows . . . four in Florida and one in Utah . . . refused to honor those precautions.  So Patton has canceled the shows. He says, quote, “This difficult decision was made due to the rising numbers of COVID cases and also because I have an ego, but my ego is not big enough to think that people should die to hear my stupid comedy. “So hopefully, hopefully, in the future we can rebook those when sanity holds sway again.  But this sucks, I was really looking forward to Florida, to Salt Lake City.”

Fans who wanted a Genesis tour are getting it. But don’t expect to see 70 year old Phil Collins play drums any time soon. His health and his age come up a lot. He was asked if this is indeed it

A website called Finance Buzz is looking for someone to watch 13 horror movies . . . and they’ll pay you $1,300 to do it.  They’ll also send you a FitBit to wear, so they can monitor your heartbeat and see how SCARED you get.  The movies were made with varying budgets, and they supposedly want to know if that affects the amount of scares a movie delivers. The movies are:  “Saw”, “The Amityville Horror”, “A Quiet Place”, “A Quiet Place 2”, “Candyman”, “Insidious”, “The Blair Witch Project”, “Sinister”, “Get Out”, “The Purge”, the 2018 “Halloween”, “Paranormal Activity”, and “Annabelle”. With “Amityville” and “Candyman”, they didn’t specify which version. The budget disparity of these films is pretty huge.  “Paranormal Activity” was made for $15,000 . . . while “A Quiet Place” rang up a $17 MILLION tab.

Applications are due by September 26th.  You can apply at FinanceBuzz.com (LINK).

1 album, 12 songs, 53 artists as the website says…• “The Metallica Blacklist (LINK), comes out today… Metallica.  This is a tribute album that celebrates the influence of Metallica.  There are artists from different genres who contributed their renditions of “Black Album” songs .  .  Metallica is also releasing a remastered deluxe box set of the “Black Album” for its 30th anniversary.

Yesterday at Busch the Cardinals and Dodgers wrapped up their 4 game series.  And it was a SCOREfest last night.  Final score 2-1 Cardinals as Alex Reyes picked up the win.  Now that the series with the Dodgers is past, the team will look towards the Reds as they are in town for a series starting tonight.  Jon Lester gets the start for the Cards – first pitch scheduled for 7:15PM.

On Thursday, the Blues added a man to their roster.  David Backes signed a one-day deal so that he could retire a St Louis Blue.  Backes played in the league for 15 years…10 of them being here in STL.  He is just 35 games away from 1000 and he racked up almost 250 goals and just over 300 assists.

The NFL season started with a lot of excitement last night.  The Buccaneers taking down the Cowboys 31-29. There was a lot of excited including the winning kick happening with just 7 seconds to go.  Here is how it all sounded…

The Ravens running back Gus Edwards and cornerback Marcus Peters suffered ACL tears during Thursday’s practice in back-to-back plays.  Significant injuries to Edwards and Peters mark the fourth major blow to Baltimore’s roster in recent weeks. Starting running back J.K. Dobbins tore his ACL on Aug. 28, and backup Justice Hill suffered a torn Achilles one week later.  Edwards has been a critical piece in Baltimore’s rushing attack over the last three seasons. He tallied six touchdowns in 2020 as he split carries with Dobbins, and he’s scored 10 touchdowns as a professional since 2018. Peters recorded four interceptions in 2020 after totaling 27 in his first five seasons.

Sportico released its most valuable NFL teams list this week and at $6.92 billion, the Dallas Cowboys are at the top. The Cowboys are worth over $1.5 billion more than the NFL’s second-most valuable team, the New England Patriots.  The Pats are worth $5.35 billion. Your top 5 list of most valuable NFL teams include:

#3 – The Los Angeles Rams with $4.68 billion
#4 The New York Giants – $4.63 billion
#5 The San Francisco 49ers with $4.27 billion

The value of all NFL teams combined is $112 billion!

Speaking of the NFL and money… After a contract negotiation that lasted throughout training camp and into the first week of the regular season, the Pittsburgh Steelers and outside linebacker T.J. Watt broke from their traditions to come to terms on a megadeal yesterday. Watt, 26, agreed to a four-year, $112 million extension. The agreement includes $80 million in full guarantees. Watt overruled his agents, who believed they could get more money, marching into the office of Steelers president Art Rooney II and telling him they had a deal.

Christen Press announced on Instagram she will “take a couple of months away from the game to focus on my mental health, spiritual growth, and processing grief.” The USWNT star, who has been a professional soccer player for a decade, left Manchester United in June and became the first player to sign with NWSL expansion franchise Angel City FC in August. “I’m sad to miss the upcoming games and seeing all of our wonderful fans. I believe I will come back stronger than ever. Thanks for all your support on my journey.”

The women’s side of the US Open is pretty incredible right now.  Showcasing the future of tennis, both women that will competing for the Open Title will feature some pretty awesome stats. It is a UN-SEEDED…ALL TEEN…Final.  Emma Raducanu (Rahd-juh-canu) and Leylah Fernandez are 18 and 19 and playing for the US Open title.  Pretty awesome
