Remember when it was kinda weird but also not suprising to go into someone’s bathroom and there was a Playboy in there? There was a time when it was kinda a coffee table situation right? Obviously not so much anymore. Things are coming out that suggest the Playboy culture with Hugh Hefner was pretty sleazy. There’s even a new show about it called “Secrets of Playboy”, premiering Monday on A&E, where the women reveal what REALLY went on. So,“Playboy’s” response? They are saying Hugh who??  “Today’s Playboy is not Hugh Hefner’s Playboy.  We trust and validate these women and their stories and we strongly support those individuals who have come forward to share their experiences. “As a brand with sex positivity at its core, we believe safety, security, and accountability are paramount.  The most important thing we can do right now is actively listen and learn from their experiences. They added, quote, “We will never be afraid to confront the parts of our legacy as a company that do not reflect our values today.” (LINK)

Playboy is where Pam Anderson got her start on the fame road. You guys remember the love story of 54 year old Pam Anderson and her husband? She was with Jon Peters. Bodyguard and Handyman Dan Hayhurst was helping with a few odd jobs around the house and Pam helped herself to Handyman Dan. She drops Peter and gets with Dan Dan the Handyman. They have since gotten married. They got married on Christmas Eve of 2020.  A friend at the wedding said…”She’s very happy,” the source said of Anderson. “And they’ve been together for the entire pandemic. She’s super happy and he’s been helping her fix up her home on Vancouver Island.”  IS she pregnant or getting a divorce? Divorce.  This was Anderson’s fourth marriage. She married Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in 1995 but the two divorced in 1998. They have two sons together: Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jagger. The actress later married and divorced Kid Rock in 2006. Then she married and divorced producer Rick Solomon twice — in 2007 and 2013. Both marriages to Solomon dissolved in less than a year.  The marriage to Peters, a movie producer, was a little murky.  They tied the knot in January 2020, but then called it off 12 days later.  She later said it was not legal.

This is some rock and roll stuff here. Not sure if you saw but Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are engaged. To celebrate they drank each other’s blood. We haven’t talked about them in a few days so this comes out..Megan’s ring is desgined to rip her finger off if she tries to remove the ring.  “The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…” He added, “Love is pain!”

As you probably know, TOM CRUISE is developing a movie that will be shot at least partly in outer space. One of the companies producing it is Space Entertainment Enterprise and they’re not stopping at just one movie. They’re launching a film and TV studio along with a sports arena into orbit.  They’re hoping to have it up there by late 2024. The plan is for people to be able to produce, record, broadcast, and live-stream content from the facility. The company says, quote, “It will provide a unique, and accessible home for boundless entertainment possibilities in a venue packed with innovative infrastructure which will unleash a new world of creativity.” (LINK)

The Batman movie runs two hours and 55 minutes which includes about eight minutes of credits. It’s the longest running time of any solo Batman pic and one of the longest for a theatrical superhero movie, behind Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, which ran three hours and one minute on its way to becoming the No. 2 top-grossing film of all time at the global box office, not adjusted for inflation. Overall, the record holder for longest superhero pic is Zack Snyder’s Justice League at four hours and two minutes, although the director’s cut never played in cinemas. The version released on the big screen was a just two hours. The Batman is out March 4th. Longer movies are a thing now No Time to Die (2:43) was the longest installment in the James Bond franchise, West Side Story and Eternals were both two hours and 36 minutes long. House of Gucci was two hours and 38 minutes (LINK)

House of Gucci I believe has not been received well.  63% fresh rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes. One critic called it abysmal. The Gucci family themselves said it was no good and not at all accurate. So maybe this would have helped Lady Gaga and Selma Hayek did a sex scene and they cut it from the film (LINK)

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE announced yesterday that they’re postponing their spring tour dates.  The tour will now kick off in July rather than the end of March. The band posted the statement, quote, “The Rage Against the Machine ‘Public Service Announcement’ North American tour with Run the Jewels will now start on July 9th in East Troy, Wisconsin . . .”Headline shows scheduled for March 31st through May 23rd will be postponed and rescheduled.  All tickets for the moved dates will be honored.  We will be back to you soon with the rerouted dates.” There’s also a list of postponed and confirmed dates to clear up any confusion.  This news isn’t a total shock because Rage had already cancelled their Coachella appearance.  They aren’t headlining the Boston Calling Festival either. An explanation has yet to be given (LINK)

Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine tweeted “I was hiking today when one of those “Hollywood Tours Of The Stars Homes” vans pulled up. The driver says on the bullhorn “Hey I recognize you from somewhere! Are you one of those Jersey Shore guys??” I reply, “Absolutely.” And everyone in the van took a photo.

Tonight, the Blues are in Seattle to take on the Kraken.  The last time these two teams met was at Enterprise Center 3 games ago and the Blues picked up the 2-1 win.  The Kraken are currently 12-23-4 and the Blues are 23-11-5.  Puck drop tonight is scheduled for 9PM.

The Divisional round of the NFL playoffs gets going tomorrow.  At 3:30 we will see the Bengals in Tennessee to take on the Titans.  The late game has the Packers hosting the 49ers.  On Sunday the Rams and Bucs are in Tampa at 2PM for the early game followed by the Bills in KC against the Chiefs at 5:30PM.

The NFL is king, we all know that. To avoid a head-to-head matchup, the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open will be held Wednesday to Saturday next week at Torrey Pines, so as to not have its final round swallowed up by the NFL’s conference title games. This has created an interesting situation for CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz. Like many who work remotely, Nantz will do so as well. He said: “Next week, the week of the AFC Championship game, will debut our season coverage of the PGA Tour, I’m going to call Friday and Saturday night’s action from the stadium, wherever the AFC Championship game is being held.”

The Houston Texans announced yesterday that longtime NFL quarterback Josh McCown interviewed for the team’s head coaching vacancy. It’s the second offseason in a row the team interviewed him for the position.  McCown, 42, played for the Cardinals (2002-05), Lions (2006), Raiders (2007), Panthers (2008-09), in the UFL for a year, then back to the NFL with the Bears (2011-13), Buccaneers (2014), Browns (2015-16), Jets (2017-18) and Eagles (2019) in his professional career. McCown has exactly zero experience coaching at either the NFL or college level, however, and if he went from an NFL career and a few seasons coaching at the high school level to an NFL head coaching position, it would raise more than a few eyebrows.

AARON RODGERS tossed some balls around during an interview with Sportsnet . . . and managed to slip in a jab at TOM BRADY and the Patriots in the process. When he picked up his first ball, he looked at the camera and said, quote, “This is too firm for the Patriots.” Tomorrow, Aaron and the Green Bay Packers play the San Francisco 49ers . . . and on Sunday, Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the L.A. Rams.  If they both win, they’ll go head-to-head next weekend for the NFC title.

The Major League Baseball Players Association plans to make an in-person labor proposal to the league on Monday, countering MLB’s offer last week that did little to loosen the gridlock that has gripped the sport after the league locked out the players Dec. 2.  Should the players’ offer do little to advance the negotiations that thus far haven’t yielded any substantive progress, the scheduled start to spring training in mid-February will grow that much unlikelier. And the longer discussions on a new collective-bargaining agreement last, the more they jeopardize Opening Day on March 31. The gap between the players and league remains significant, with the union seeking major financial gains in a number of areas and owners trying to hold firm with what they currently pay in salaries. Other issues players have said remain a priority include anti-tanking measures and fixing service-time manipulation.

The robot takeover of MLB took another step closer to becoming a reality. The Associated Press reported yesterday that MLB “is expanding its automated strike zone experiment,” citing job postings for seasonal employment tied to the operation of the Automated Ball and Strike system. The jobs were with a handful of Triple-A clubs, thus signaling the arrival of robot umps at that level. On Jan. 13, the independent Atlantic League announced it would cease using the Automated Ball and Strike (ABS) system and bring back home plate umpires. The league had been a testing ground for ABS under the terms of a partnership with MLB that began during the second half of the 2019 season.

The Tampa Bay Rays’ proposed plan to split the season between Florida and Montreal has been rejected by Major League Baseball. The Rays owner announced the news yesterday. The idea of playing in both the Tampa Bay area and Montreal has been discussed over the past several years after attempts to build a new full-time ballpark locally failed. Montreal had a big league team from 1969, when the expansion Expos began play, through 2004. The Expos moved to Washington and became the Nationals for the 2005 season. The Rays’ lease at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, where the team has played since its inaugural season in 1998, expires after the 2027 season.

The U.S. Olympic team’s top doctor says all of the 200-plus athletes heading to Beijing for the Winter Games next month are fully vaccinated, and not a single one asked for a medical exemption. In September, the USOPC introduced a policy requiring U.S. athletes to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 1 unless they had a medical exemption. About a month later, the IOC put out guidelines calling for full vaccinations or a three-week quarantine period upon entering China. The U.S. will finalize the members of the winter team this week. It is expected to include about 240 athletes. The USOPC has been organizing testing and flights for the athletes, many of whom will go to Beijing on charter flights. All need two negative tests — one within 96 hours of their flight to China, and another within 72.
