We’re looking at a nationwide ketchup shortage (link) because of the pandemic.  Because so many restaurants are now doing more to-go orders, they’re going through a ton of packets . . . and prices are up 13% in 14 months.

We’re also buying more bottles of ketchup at home than ever.  In 2020, there were more than $1 billion in ketchup sales in the U.S. . . . that’s 15% higher than 2019.

You know and love this voice…the guy from all the Disney product promos. Mark Elliott, thevoice of Disney movie trailers, television promos and home video titles from the late 1970s to the early 2000s, has died. He was 81. Elliott died Saturday in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering two heart attacks.

JENNIFER LOPEZ is the cover story in the new issue of “InStyle” magazine.  And the writers even spoke to her famous exes about her.  Marc Anthony told the magazine, quote, “She’s the first one in the room and the last to leave.  The hardest worker I’ve ever met.” And Ben Affleck praised her talent, her work ethic, and her FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH.  He said, quote, “Why do you look the same as you did in 2003 and it kind of looks like I’m in my 40s, at best?” But one person who’s NOT quoted in the article is J-Lo’s CURRENT man, ALEX RODRIGUEZ.  Jennifer is also not wearing her engagement ring in any of the pictures. The story was done months ago, so it seems to indicate that Jennifer and Alex have been having problems for months. “How else would her ex-husband and ex-fiancé be included, but not her current fiancé?”

Working out is essential for CHRIS HEMSWORTH as long as he plans on doing Marvel movies.  But Chris thinks it’s also holding him back from being taken seriously. He says, quote, “Bodybuilding is seen as vanity, whereas if I put on a bunch of unhealthy weight, or got unhealthily skinny for a role, I’d probably be called a serious actor.” He adds, quote, “The training across 10 years of doing it is a full-time job.  That and then a 12-hour shooting day, it’s a real grind. “It’s incredibly rewarding, too.  You have to look at it like a professional athlete.” Oh by the way he posted a new work out video yesterday. Oh by the way part 2 he is worth about $130 million.

I mentioned the cash me outside girl turning 18 then making all that money on Onlyfans. Remember Maitland Ward from Boy Meets World? She is clearing 6 figures a month doing Onlyfans. She has been doing porn for a few years now according to King Scott. Now she says she is combining the 2. She says she’s the first person ever to do porn and mainstream at the same time. The new show is called The Big Time and Maitland Ward will serve as both an executive producer and an actress on the project. She’ll play an adult actress working for a studio“on the brink of collapse”. Brett Azar, who was on Young Rock, will play a character brought in to help save the fictional porn studio on the show. The project is being described as “lighthearted” and a “comedy.” Currently, it’s unclear where The Big Time will be housed on TV or streaming.

A contestant trolled Aaron Rodgers on his first night as “Jeopardy!” host.  During Final Jeopardy!, he wrote “Who wanted to kick that field goal?”  It was a reference to the NFC Championship Game, when the Packers lost after kicking a field goal instead of going for a touchdown.

Yesterday was the 27th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death.  He took his own life at age 27 in 1994.  And someone recently created a “new” Nirvana song using artificial intelligence.  They plugged in around 30 Nirvana tracks . . . and the computer pumped out a song called “Drowned in the Sun“.  The quality of the song is debatable, but the A.I. definitely nailed the Nirvana vibe.  By the way, the singer isn’t Kurt . . . or even computer-Kurt.  It’s Eric Hogan, the lead singer of the “ultimate” Nirvana tribute band Nevermind

Marvel’s third “Black Widow” trailer got 70 million views in the first 24 hours.

Movies That Re-Cast Their Stars For A Sequel

Keanu Reeves declined Speed 2: Cruise Control and was replaced by… Jason Patric. Keanu didn’t like the script he was given about a cruise ship out of control…Reeves was right. Speed 2 was a massive critical and commercial bomb that presently holds a 4% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Bill Murray was replaced by who in the Charlie’s Angels sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Bernie Mac. Director McG claimed that Murray headbutted him, describing it as “An inch lower and my nose would have been obliterated.” Murray has vehemently denied it. He also allegedly told Lucy Liu that she couldn’t act, and she allegedly responded by throwing punches. Murray, when asked about this, said, “I will dismiss you completely if you are unprofessional and working with me. … When our relationship is professional and you’re not getting that done, forget it.” Mac was brought on to play Jimmy Bosley, John’s adoptive brother and successor.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day star Edward Furlong didn’t play John Connor in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines because the studio replaced him with… Nick Stahl.  James Cameron, the co-creator of the franchise and director of the first two films, including the massive hit Terminator 2: Judgment Day, had declined to write or direct the new movie. With no Cameron, no Linda Hamilton, and no Edward Furlong because the studio was worried about his publicized drug issues so they recast him. It was a sizable hit worldwide and has a decent 69% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Hannibal, the sequel to The Silence of the Lambs, starred who was Clarice Starling instead of Jodie Foster? Julianne Moore . Foster didn’t like the initial screenplay adaptation of Clarice drugged up, eating brains with Hannibal, and even having sex with him. Silence of the Lambs director Jonathon Demme — who, like Foster, declined to take part in the sequel — said that this new direction “didn’t compute” for him. They got rid of lots of that crazy stuff before it the screen though.

In the Back to the Future sequels, who replaced Claudia Wells as Marty’s girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, and who replaced Crispin Glover as George McFly. Elisabeth Shue and Jeffrey Weissman First, Claudia Wells informed the studio that she wouldn’t be appearing in the sequel because she needed to care for her mother, who was sick with cancer. They quickly recast the role of Jennifer with up-and-coming star Elisabeth Shue (fresh off hits The Karate Kid and Cocktail). The situation surrounding the role of George McFly was much more complicated. Crispin Glover says he was offered only $125,000 to return, which he claimed was significantly less than what his costars were being paid. In response to this offer, Glover, who didn’t like the script, demanded a million. So they hired Jeffrey Weissman to a) mimic Glover, and b) look like him by wearing a mold of Glover’s face made for the first film. It worked, most viewers of the sequel had no idea that a new actor was playing George McFly. Mr. Glover sued Universal. “Had they only hired another actor, which is kind of what I thought had happened, that would have been totally legal, and I would have been completely fine with it,” he said. They settled out of court for $760,000, but the case started an important conversation about celebrities and the ownership of their likeness. In more recent years, the Screen Actors Guild established rules protecting actors in situations like this.

Terrence Howard played James “Rhodey” Rhodes in Iron Man but was replaced in Iron Man 2 by who? Don Cheadle, who depicted the character’s transition into War Machine. Some say Howard was difficult on set and that director Jon Favreau and the film’s producers were unhappy with his performance. Howard said they began to spread propaganda that I was difficult to deal with. He says he was told by the studio that he would be a co-lead in the sequel and paid $8 million to do it. However, when it came time to make Part 2, the studio no longer wanted him as a co-lead and, since his role was going to be more reduced than initially intended, offered him only $1 million to come back. Howard’s agent hung up the phone when they made that much-smaller offer, effectively ending negotiations. Another interesting part of this is that insiders claim Howard was the first actor hired for Iron Man and, as a result, signed on at a higher rate than his costars later signed for, including Robert Downey Jr. The studio, therefore, wanted to bring his salary for the sequel more in line with those of the rest of the supporting cast.

Who originated the role of Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October but was replaced by Harrison Ford in the next Jack Ryan film, The Patriot Games. Alec Baldwin.  Baldwin claims that he was in the middle of negotiating with the studio for the sequel when Ford approached them about taking over the role. He goes on to allege that The Hunt for Red October director John McTiernan asked Ford if he felt bad for snatching the role from Baldwin, and Ford replied, “F him.” Baldwin later described Ford as “a little man, short, scrawny, and wiry, whose soft voice sounds as if it’s coming from behind a door.”  Baldwin was starring in A Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway when negotiating for the sequel, and the studio was frustrated with his unwillingness to say when exactly he’d be done with the play and available to film Patriot Games. So the studio’s move to Ford wasn’t totally unwarranted. Ford played Ryan a second time in A Clear and Present Danger, which is the highest-grossing film in the Jack Ryan franchise.

The Blues picked up a big ole stinker last night against the Golden Knights.  It was awful.  The Blues got a goal from Tyler Bozak, but, that was it.  Finals score 6-1.  The two teams play again tomorrow night at Enterprise.  Puck drop is scheduled for 8PM.

Last night the Cardinals picked up a win against the Marlins.  Tommy Edmund hit a homer in the win.  Yadier Molina also picked up 2 RBI as the Cards went on to a 4-1 win against Miami.  Today that Card and Marlins play game 2.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:40PM.

Coors Field, the home of the Rockies, will reportedly be the site of the 2021 MLB All-Star Game.  The game was originally scheduled to be held in Atlanta, but MLB elected to relocate as a response to Georgia’s new voting law. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was scheduled to throw out the first pitch for the Rangers on Monday but announced he would not because of MLB’s All-Star Game decision. Coors Field last hosted the MLB All-Star Game in 1998.

The undefeated season DID not happen last night as the Baylor Bears beat the Gonzaga Bulldogs 86-70.  It was a DOMINATE win by Baylor who opened the game with a 23-9 run.  For the first time all year, Gonzaga looked TERRIBLE.  The win for Baylor was the first National Championship for the state of Texas since the 60s.  Of course, the odds are out for the favorite for next year…and it looks like the Gonzaga Bulldogs are being picked to be the champs next season.  We will see…

A new lawsuit was posted to the Harris County District Court on Monday against Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, bringing total number of lawsuits alleging sexual harassment and assault up to 22.  The latest lawsuit focuses on a massage session in November 2020, alleging Watson “assaulted and harassed a woman by touching her with his penis and exposing himself.” It also claims that Watson has “used more than fifty different women for massages,” adding that “some made clear that they were unlicensed, and others made sure they did not specialize in massage therapy.” The lawsuit posted Monday involves a massage session between Watson and a plaintiff, who says she is a “licensed esthetician,” not a licensed massage therapist. At one point during their session, Watson moved his penis onto the plaintiff’s hand “in an attempt to get her to touch it,” according to the lawsuit. “Plaintiff asked incredulously what was he thinking and he replied ‘you can sit on it.’ “At the conclusion of the session, Watson “had what said on the top ‘Non-Disclosure Agreement’ ” and, in the lawsuit’s words, told her that “in order for him to pay her she had to sign it.” The plaintiff signed it “without reading the document,” according to the lawsuit. However, Watson later allegedly paid her $250 instead of the $605 that the lawsuits claims the service cost. The nearly two dozen lawsuits filed in the last three weeks against Watson explicitly cite events dating as far back as March 30, 2020, and as recent as March 5, 2021.

The Panthers have acquired Jets quarterback Sam Darnold in a trade that will send three future draft picks to New York. Carolina will give up a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft along with a second- and fourth-round pick in 2022, pending a physical.  Darnold went 13-25 as a starter in three seasons with the Jets and threw for 8,097 yards and 45 touchdowns with a 78.6 passer rating. The Jets drafted the 23-year-old with the third-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.  The team had been listening to offers for Darnold throughout the offseason. New York will pick second in the upcoming draft at the end of the month.

Last month’s death of “Miracle on Ice” Olympic hockey standout Mark Pavelich was ruled a suicide. Pavelich died of asphyxia. His body was found March 3 in Minnesota. He was 63. Pavelich was undergoing treatment at the home as part of a civil commitment for assaulting his neighbor in August 2019. Pavelich thought the man had spiked his beer. He was charged with felony assault, but the judge found he was incompetent to stand trial because he was mentally ill and dangerous. The judge said psychologists found that Pavelich was suffering from delusions and paranoia. Experts also diagnosed him with a mild neurocognitive disorder due to traumatic brain injury, likely related to repeated head injuries.

Los Angeles Angels reliever Ty Buttrey has retired from baseball, saying he’s lost his affection for the game. “I just wanted to prove everyone wrong. As time went on baseball became more of a business and less of a game. I couldn’t help but notice my love and passion for this game started to diminish. I always thought baseball was a cool job.” The right-hander was one of the key pieces of the Angels’ bullpen the past three seasons, but he struggled with control problems during spring training and was optioned to the team’s alternate training site. His 115 appearances were fourth on the team among pitchers, and he was 8-11 with a 4.30 ERA.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Carlton Davis sent a tweet containing an anti-Asian slur Sunday night, and he has since apologized, saying he did not realize the term’s deeply hurtful meaning. “Gotta stop letting g—- in Miami,” Davis wrote in the since-deleted tweet. Davis, 24, apologized in subsequent tweets for using the slur and said he thought the term meant “lame.” “I used a term that from where I come from has always meant ‘lame’ but I did not realize it has a much darker, negative connotation. I have learned a valuable lesson and want to apologize to anyone that was offended by seeing that word because we need to focus on helping each other during these tough times.”
