Jussie Smollett (LINK) was ordered released from jail yesterday by an appeals court that agreed with his lawyers that he should be released pending the appeal of his conviction for lying to police about a racist and homophobic attack. He was just sentenced last week to 150 days in jail. Smollett’s attorneys had argued that he would have completed the sentence by the time the appeal process was completed and that Smollett could be in danger of physical harm if he remained locked up in Cook County Jail. The office of the special prosecutor called the claim “factually incorrect,” in a response to the motion.

Kanye West finally snapped . . . at a photographer outside Los Angeles International Airport.  After Kanye had enough of the guy, he took a swipe at him.  From the video, it looks like he smacked his camera.

On “Ellen” yesterday, Kim Kardashian revealed (LINK) that the so-called “tattoo” of Kim’s name on Pete Davidson’s chest is actually a BRANDING.  He DOES have a few tattoos dedicated to Kim.  Here she is describing them

“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” is officially coming to an end after 19 seasons.  Yesterday it was announced that the final episode will air May 26th. Since her show came out in 2003 she has had over 4,000 guests. The final episodes will include former First Lady MICHELLE OBAMA . . . DAVID LETTERMAN . . . ZAC EFRON . . . GWEN STEFANI . . . and CHANNING TATUM. THIS isn’t confirmed, but the “New York Post” claims that Ellen is giving MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in bonuses to her staff (LINK)

Jack White claims (LINK) he can recognize any Beatles song from a one-second clip.  And there’s a YouTube video where he more or less proves it.  (He did miss one that didn’t get corrected.  He guessed “I’m Looking Through You”, when the song was “Run for Your Life”.  Still impressive, though.)

It’s official:  TROY AIKMAN and JOE BUCK have left Fox Sports for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football”. There’s no official word on their salaries, but sources have reported that Aikman is making $92.5 million over five years, and Buck is getting $60 million to $75 million. The upcoming season will be their 21st in the booth together . . . which ties the record set by PAT SUMMERALL and JOHN MADDEN. They’ll make their debut on September 12th (LINK)

You’ve probably seen the photos of DANIEL RADCLIFFE dressed as WEIRD AL for the upcoming “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”.  Especially the one of him holding an accordion (LINK). Well as it turns out, Daniel actually learned the accordion so he could play some of Weird Al’s songs. A release date for the movie has not been announced, but it’ll premiere on Roku.

The Batman (LINK) I know exactly when it’s hitting HBO Max, seemingly thanks to a glitch on the HBO website. On Tuesday night (March 15), a glitch accidentally revealed the HBO Max and HBO premiere dates for the hit movie. An ad appeared, which has since been removed from the official website, with a release date of Tuesday, April 19 on HBO Max and Saturday, April 23 on HBO. According to Deadline, these are the accurate drop dates, aligning with the current strategy of Warner Bros. theatrical releases hitting HBO Max 45 days after their debut in cinemas. HBO Max has also given a straight-to-series order for a spinoff series for one of the villainous role from The Batman! (LINK)

A survey by Nice ‘N Clean Wipes determined the best movie toilet scenes.  Here they are:

  1. “Meet the Parents”:  “Did you flush this toilet?”  Ben Stillerflushes a toilet he was told not to, and the septic tank overflows, flooding the yard with sewage.
  1.  “Dumb and Dumber”:  “The toilet doesn’t flush.”  After being dosed with a high-powered laxative, Jeff Danielslets it all go in the toilet of a woman he’s about to go on a date with.  THEN he finds out the toilet is broken.
  1. “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”:  “Who does #2 work for (LINK)?”  Mike Myerstries to interrogate a bad guy in a public restroom.
  1. “Tommy Boy”:  “Tommy vs. the john (LINK).”  Chris Farleyattempts to change his clothes in an airplane bathroom.
  1. “Along Came Polly”:  “Praying to the porcelain god.”  Kind of like the “Dumb and Dumber”scene:  Ben Stiller lays one down in Jennifer Aniston’s apartment, then realizes there’s no toilet paper.  His attempt to improvise goes so, so wrong.
  1. “Bee Movie”:  “Bathroom Bee Brawl (LINK).”  It’s man vs. bee . . . and man loses.

The Blues are in action against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at Enterprise.  The team is looking to bounce back from their OT loss to Winnipeg.  The team takes the ice for the first time since Sunday.  Puck drop is at 7PM.

Freddie Freeman has agreed to terms with the  Dodgers on a six-year, $162 million deal. Freeman, 32, reached free agency for the first time in his career after helping the  Braves win their first World Series since 1995 with a six-game series win over the  Astros. During his 12th big league season, the first baseman hit .300, with 31 homers, 83 RBIs and an NL-leading 120 runs. Freeman’s deal has the second-highest average annual value ($27 million) ever for a first baseman (behind Miguel Cabrera’s eight-year deal with the Detroit Tigers. Third baseman Kris Bryant and the Rockies are in agreement on a seven-year, $182 million contract. Bryant is headed to his third team in eight months after spending his first six major league seasons with the Chicago Cubs, who traded him to the Giants last July.  Other names on the move?  Joc Pederson signed with the Giants and that Anthony Rizzo deal with the Yankees is now official.  The Cardinals were at one point in the mix, but Zack Greinke re-upped with the Royals for another year.

Eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller has agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills on a six-year contract. Miller’s deal is worth $120 million. Sources say it includes $51.5 million guaranteed, including $45 million fully guaranteed at signing. Miller, who turns 33 on March 26, was a key piece of the Rams’ run to the Super Bowl championship after he was acquired from the Broncos in November for 2022 second- and third-round picks.  Other free agent moves has Julio Jones getting released from the Titans, the Falcons telling Matt Ryan that they are going for DeShaun Watson, and the Steelers signing former Jags linebacker Myles Jack

The Browns seem to be moving on from Baker Mayfield.  Obviously nothing is official yet, but Monday they met with DeShaun Watson, and Tuesday Baker Mayfield posted a goodbye/thank you letter to Cleveland.  Now sources are saying it looks like the Browns want to trade Mayfield.  Looks like the teams in the mix could be the Colts, Saints, Seahawks, or Panthers.  Sources from inside Cleveland’s organization say they are ready for an “adult” to be their next quarterback.

Today’s the day – Madness in March has begun.  Last night Wright State beat Bryant and Notre Dame got the double OT win against Rutgers.  So today, the tourney OFFICIALLY starts.  At 11:15AM #6 Colorado takes on #11 Michigan.  That is followed by 15 more games throughout the day.  You can see a link to the full bracket at 1057thepoint.com/Rizz.  ((LINK: https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/mml-official-bracket/2022-03-16/2022-ncaa-bracket-printable-march-madness-bracket-pdf))

The SLU Billikens are out of the NIT tournament.  They lost to the Northern Iowa Panthers last night 80-68.

And finally – St Louis City now has their #1 goalie.  Swiss International goalkeeper and former starter for Dortmund – Roman Burki will be defending the net.  Burki signed a 3 year deal but for now – the financials weren’t released.  He will join STL CITY SC in July 2022 after completing the remainder of the season with the five–time league champions Dortmund.
