Last Friday not so good for That ’70s Show actor Danny Masterson. He played Hyde on the show. He must stand trial on three counts of rape.  There was testimony from three women who took the stand to say that Masterson raped them in 2001 and 2003.  Masterson has denied the charges. His lawyer said it was consensual sex with the women and that he would prove his client’s innocence.  Masterson is a prominent Scientologist, all three women are former Scientologists and the church and its teachings came up constantly during testimony. The judge said she found the women’s explanations credible that church teachings kept them from reporting their accusations to police for years. The 45-year-old actor has been free on bail since his June arrest. He is charged with three counts of rape by force or fear and could get up to 45 years in prison if convicted. The allegations happened at the height of That ’70s Show from 1998 to 2006. He had reunited with Aston Kutcher on the Netflix Western sitcom The Ranch when the LAPD investigation of him was revealed in March 2017. The news did not have immediate career repercussions for Masterson, but later in the year, after allegations against Harvey Weinstein shook Hollywood, he was written off the show.

KEVIN SPACEY has lined up his first film role since sexual assault allegations derailed his career four years ago. It’s an Italian movie called “L’uomo Che Disegno Dio”. . . which means “The Man Who Drew God”. It’s being directed by Italian actor FRANCO NERO, and will co-star is wife VANESSA REDGRAVE.  And yes, it’ll shoot in Italy. Nero says, quote, “I’m very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film.  I consider him a great actor and I can’t wait to start the movie.”

Let’s ruin the movie “Stand By Me”. WIL WHEATON played a kid with a less-than-ideal home life.  And apparently, the reason he did such a good job is because his REAL home life wasn’t much better. He says, quote, “I didn’t want to be an actor when I was a kid.  My parents forced me to do it, my mother made me do it.  My mother coached me to go into her agency and tell the children’s agent, ‘I want to do what mommy does.’ “And through a combination of an incredible emotional abuse from my father and a lot of manipulation, using me, from my mother, it really put me in . . . exactly the right place to play Gordie.” He adds, quote, “When I watch ‘Stand by Me’ now, I cannot ignore the unbelievable sadness in my eyes.” Not surprisingly, Wil is estranged from his parents.

Alex Rodriguez slid in the DMs of a popular Australian TV personality who works for Today Extra. Now she is telling everyone.  She said this weekend, “I woke up this morning, checking the socials and in my requests there was a message from Alex Rodriguez. As in A-Rod. As in J.Lo‘s ex.” The message he sent was, “Great feed!!” “He just said great feed!” Belinda added. “I went, “This can’t be real,” so I tapped on it and [his account] is verified,” she said. She then clarified, “He’s surely not [hitting on me]. He just likes my videos… I’m very happily married,” and then she said he was “going to unfollow me now because this is so uncool. He just likes the videos that I do.”

F9 has started off well in like 8 foreign markets. $162.4 million including $135.6 million from China.  It also debuted in South Korea, Russia, Hong Kong, Russia and the Middle East, all markets where moviegoing has rebounded from the COVID-19 crisis. F9‘s ticket sales were as strong as pre-pandemic times, and marked Universal’s best start in China behind the last Fast film. It is also the biggest showing in the pandemic-era for a Hollywood title. The franchise has now collected more than $6 billion in global ticket sales.

Its May 24th Its Mondave so time for a Dave Grohl update Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl will co-host The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight, helping deliver the monologue and interview guests like comedian Jim Jefferies and musical guest Blake Shelton. Grohl should have things under control; he hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in 2017 and has handled hosting his own Sound City documentary and his latest docuseries From Cradle To Stage. The Foo Fighters frontman has a busy 2021.  His band’s headlining Lollapalooza, California’s BottleRock Festival, and more.  Foo Fighters will also be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2021 class this October.

The season finale of SNL aired this weekend, and people picked up on some possible “clues” that the show is losing five major cast members. The show opened with the cast talking about what a crazy year it’s been.  They were divided into groups.  One group included the four who’ve been there the longest: Kenan Thompson (18 seasons), Kate McKinnon (10 seasons), and Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong (8 Seasons each).  This has been taken as some kind of sign that these four are leaving. At one point, Kate got choked up when she said, quote, “This is a year when we realized we are more than just a cast, we are a family.” Then, during “Weekend Update”, Pete Davidson ended his appearance on a serious note, saying, quote, “I’m very grateful to be here, and it has been an honor to grow up in front of you guys.”

So who has been your favorite over the years? I foubd a random top 20 of alltime SNL cast members.

Lambert played Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod, Connery portrayed Egyptian Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez and Clancy was a barbarian known as the Kurgan. Well the Blues went into the Stanley Cup Playoffs being one of the biggest underdogs in the history of the game.  And after 4 games against the Avalanche – they proved that those predictions were truer than truer.  In almost all aspects of the game, Colorado was better.  And after Sunday’s 5-2 loss – the Blues have been swept from the Playoffs.  Vladimir Tarasenko had both of the Blues goals, and it was actually a little closer than what the final score says – the Avs scored two empty netters.  The Avalanche will now wait for the winner of the Knights/Wild series.

The Knights/Wild series could be decided tonight with a win by Vegas.  That’s the late game.  We will also see the Islanders and Penguins play Game 5 all tied up, the Leafs and Canadiens will play Game 3 with their series at 1-1.  The Lightning could eliminate the Panthers and the Jets could knock out the Oilers.  Yesterday we also saw the Bruins get the win and eliminate the Capitals.

It took until the 10th inning for either the Cardinals or the Cubs get score a run..and unfortunately….it Javier Baez and the Cubs who hit the 2 run homer to take a 2-0 lead…the Cards would score on a sacrifice the next inning but the final … 2-1 in favor of the Cubs.  Wainwright only gave up ONE hit in the loss.  The Cards won Saturday but lost both Friday and Sunday against the Cubs.  Now they switch their focus to a familiar face and a different Chicago baseball team as they start a series with the White Sox.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:10PM and KK will take the mound.

Phil Mickelson just made golf history and the crowd went wild! The PGA Tour veteran secured the Wanamaker Trophy and his sixth major win on Sunday in a surprise victory at the PGA Championship. Mickelson finished the tournament 6-under ahead of two golfers who finished -4. At 50 years, 11 months and 7 days old, he is now the oldest player to ever win a major, and the oldest player to win the PGA Championship. Mickelson last won a major in 2013.

The NBA playoffs are in full swing.  On Saturday the Bucks beat the Heat, the Mavs beat the Clippers, the Nets beat the Celtics and the Trail Blazers beat the Nuggets.  On Day 2 of the NBA playoffs the 76ers got the win, the Suns beat the Lakers by 9, the Jazz lost to the Grizzlies and the Hawks beat the Knicks on a last second shot by Trae Young to win the game 107-105.  Two games on the scheduled today – the Bucks and Heat play Game 2 in Milwaukee and the Nuggets host the Trail Blazers in Game 2.

The NBA is reportedly seeking to reopen talks over adding a proposed midseason tournament to the schedule.  Motivated by the success of the play-in tournament, NBA commissioner Adam Silver is reportedly eager to restart negotiations with teams and the players’ union that were shelved during the pandemic prior to reaching a vote before the board of governors. The league had previously discussed an eight-team, single-elimination tourney that would have reportedly paid players of the winning team $1 million each while potentially shortening the regular-season schedule by four games. The NBA was also considering a pool-play element embedded into the regular-season schedule, to determine which teams would advance to the tournament. The NBA needs the approval of the Players Association and two-thirds of NBA teams to incorporate a midseason tournament, although the earliest the proposal could be added to the NBA schedule would be for the 2022–23 season.

Chase Elliott earned another road-course victory after an early conclusion to the first-ever NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Elliott, who had won of four of the last five road-course races, looked to claim a fifth as he led the field by 10 seconds with 17 laps to go. Luckily for him, NASCAR decided to throw the red flag for rain and standing water and send cars into pit road. The race was eventually called early. With Elliott’s win and a second-place finish from Kyle Larson, Hendrick Motorsports finished in the top two spots for the second consecutive week.
