Michael Strahan will have to wait longer to head to space. He was supposed to take off today. His trip on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin has been delayed until Saturday. High winds have caused the delay. Hopefully, Strahan and five others will be on their way for the 10-minute space experience this weekend.
Bonhams — an auction house — had all a bunch of Happy Days and Fonz stuff to auction yesterday. Do you think it went well or was a dud? Among the most prized items — the 1949 Triumph Trophy 500 motorbike that Winkler (aka Fonzie) actually rode on the show, which went for a whopping $231,562. That’s staggeringly more than what it was expected to fetch … just $80k-$120k. The sale also offered an opportunity to match the Fonz’s style, down a T — HW’s actual costume from the show was also on the auction block … going for $75,312. The outfit came with the signature brown leather jacket, 2 white t-shirts, jeans … and a pair of black leather biker boots, which were worn throughout the first 5 years. There was a lot more Fonzie stuff up for grabs too — including a pair of mechanic overalls that Winkler wore on the show, an Army shirt he rocked as Fonz and cowboy boots he once donned. All those went for about $14k, $2k and $1k, respectively. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to “This Is About Humanity,” a charity run by his daughter Zoe, which raises awareness and funds for families separated at the US-Mexico Border.
Billy Idol was director James Cameron’s first choice to play the villain T-1000(Robert Patrick) in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day! He was going to star alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in T2 and was also going to have a much larger role in Oliver Stones’ Jim Morrison doc, The Doors. Unfortunately, in February 1990, Idol was nearly killed in a motorcycle accident. There was no way he was going to be able to physically handle any major movie roles during recovery. Idol still made a dent in Hollywood, though; he has a memorable flight scene alongside Adam Sandler in 1998’s Wedding
We might finally get a James Bond of COLOR. Producer Barbara Broccoli says that the only thing we know for sure about the next 007 is that he will be a British man. But that means he could be any race or ethnicity. They’re still not budging on the gender thing, though. She said she believes in making characters for women and not just having women play men’s roles. There’s still no word when the choice will be made, though. For the moment, she wants to celebrate DANIEL CRAIG and the, quote, “incredible achievement that he has done over 16 years.”

KRISTEN BELL has a new Netflix show with a pretty cumbersome title: “The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window”. It sounds like a silly parody of a Hallmark Channel suburban thriller . . . and it kind of is. But in a trailer Netflix released yesterday, it looks like it’s played pretty straight . . . and the humor isn’t too over-the-top. It’s about a woman who thinks she witnesses a murder in the house across the street. It premieres on January 28th.

SLASH’s new song “Fill My World” with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators was written from the perspective of a dog. Myles was inspired after witnessing his Shih Tzu named Mozart panic during a storm. He was checking in on the dog through a video camera system, after his flight was delayed. Quote, “It was heartbreaking to watch. It terrified the little guy. [It’s] inspired by what I imagined he might have been thinking as it all went down and his plea to us to come home . . . it could apply to a relationship between humans . . .”And to be really honest, as I was singing the song in the studio, at one point you can hear my voice crack a little bit. It was getting to me . . . it’s definitely sung from the heart. And I’m man enough to admit it!” The song will be featured on Slash and Myles’ new album, “4”, that comes out February 11th.

The Blues and Red Wings will take the ice tonight at Enterprise and once again, the team is kind of a mismatch group of fellas in the Blue sweaters. Nathan Walker was recalled and will suit up. But Ville Husso is out with an injury. So that means it looks like it will be Charlie Lindgren in goal, with newly signed Jon Gillies as his backup. Jordan Binnington is still out with COVID and will be until the weekend is over. Puck drop tonight is at 7PM.
Tonight, the Steelers are in Minnesota to take on the Vikings. The Steelers are 6-5-1 and the Vikings are 5-7. He said: “Although it’s been a long and challenging year, I am very excited to close it out by competing in the PNC Championship with my son Charlie,” Woods tweeted. “I’m playing as a Dad and couldn’t be more excited and proud.” The 36-hole event begins Dec. 18 in Orlando and is for major champions and a family member. Last year, Woods and his son finished tied for seventh in the event.
The Arizona Coyotes appear to be running the risk of losing access to their arena even sooner than expected. The city of Glendale informed the team that it plans to lock the Coyotes out of their arena if the club does not pay its delinquent tax bills and unpaid arena charges by Dec. 20. The city of Glendale is owed approximately $250,000 in unpaid city taxes. The rest of that balance is owed directly to the state. The Coyotes have until 5 p.m. on Dec. 20 to settle their outstanding totals or the city of Glendale will deny Arizona’s personnel and vendors access to the venue.
Investors are placing a big bet on the 3ICE three-on-three hockey league. The league recently received $8.5 million in funding to bring its overall total to almost $10 million. 3ICE is set to make its debut June 18 in Las Vegas, kicking off an inaugural nine-week 2022 season. Commissioner Craig Patrick added the competition will “thrive on pure skill, creativity, play making and goal scoring. Grant Fuhr, Guy Carbonneau and Bryan Trottier are among the six coaches and provide a level of instant credibility. 3ICE was originally slated to debut in 2021 but pushed its grand opening back to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pele has been moved out of intensive care and into a general room after the Brazilian soccer great underwent surgery to remove a tumor in his right colon. The hospital added in the statement that the 80-year-old is in good clinical condition. A three-time World Cup winner, Pele was admitted to hospital earlier this month after a tumor in his right colon was found during routine tests. The tumor was removed and sent for analysis. Pele has suffered from hip problems for years and cannot walk unaided. His public appearances were already being cut before the COVID-19 pandemic and since then he has made few unnecessary forays outside his house. However – his daughter did say that they do believe that he will be home in time for Christmas.
And finally – the Utah Jazz have set a record in the NBA. They have hit 72 three pointers in three consecutive games. That is the most in a three game span breaking the old record of 67 set by Milwaukee and Houston. The Jazz also became the first NBA team to have three consecutive games with 20 or more made three pointers. The Jazz are in 3rd in the West right now with a 17-7 record.
Another cool NBA record to mention…the Houston Rockets were really bad. REALLY bad. They lost 15 games in a row. But now, they have a different streak. After the 15 games with a loss in a row…they have won 7 straight. The team is on fire right now. Still…they aren’t good. They are 13th in the West at 8-16
