Singer Sting is being accused of sexually assaulting a minor about 40 years ago. Through his attorney, he “categorically denies” the allegation. The civil lawsuit alleges statutory rape by having sex with a 15-year-old “Jane Doe” after meeting at a Police concert in Scottsdale in1979. He was 27 at the time. Sting, as well as his the Police bandmates and the group’s tour bookers, are being sued. His attorney says “Sting welcomes a thorough and open inquiry into this matter.” According to the complaint she attended a meet and greet at a record store for the band. While there she said she was 15. She went to the show where the band walked thru the crowd and greeted fans. She claims Sting approached her, “talked to her briefly and asked her to sit on his lap during the opening band’s performance.”  She says he invited her to a house party in Phoenix with him and others where they shared a chaise chair in the backyard and Sting kissed and touched her in places. She says she said more than once that she was 15 and a virgin. A jury trial is requested and damages exceeding $75,000 are being sought.  In May 2019, Arizona signed a bill increasing the amount of time childhood sex assault victims can sue alleged attackers. It gives abuse victims until their 30th birthday to sue, a decade longer than before. It also opened a one-time window for victims who’ve missed the cutoff — like this person — and they have until Dec. 31, 2020, to file suit 

61 year old Jamie Lee Curtis did a damn cool thing. She was in the Halloween movie. At least what 2 of them? She is in Halloween Kills which is set for 2021. 30 year old horror fanatic Anthony Woodle, of Charleston, South Carolina, had proposed to his girlfriend Emilee on Halloween in 2016. Then tragedy as he was diagnosed with throat cancer three years later, also on Halloween. Things got real bad. Through Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green, Jamie Lee Curtis heard about him and his plight. She, over Zoom,officiated his wedding at 10:30am… He died at 11:17am.

Yesterday, was World Pancreatic Cancer Day, and even though ALEX TREBEK didn’t live to see it new episodes of “Jeopardy” are still airing, and last night, Alex made a comment about it being World Pancreatic Cancer Day(AUDIO). BUT, another man who suffers from pancreatic cancer DOES have a better prognosis, thanks to Alex sharing his journey. A 70-year-old man named Chuck Paulausky from Chandler, Arizona, says that he happened to be watching “Jeopardy!” on the day when Alex talked about some of the warning signs. He realized he had some symptoms, got cheked and is Stage 1. His outlook is much much better. This week he went in for what he is hoping is his last procedure.

Gordon Ramsay can come off as a bit of a prick right? This is against brand for him then. That 14 year old from Master Chef Junior Ben Watkins that just died from cancer? Mr Ramsay gave him $50,000 to help with medical expenses back in August.  Apparently the show is currently trying to come up with a way to honor Ben as well. And, that GoFundMe is now at over $200k, and will be used to support his family.

There’s a new “Pink Panther” movie in the works, but this one has a twist:  The CARTOON Pink Panther will actually appear in the movie. Here’s how that’ll work:  The lead character is a “smooth operating inspector” who suffers a traumatic event that causes him to conjure up a pink panther as an IMAGINARY FRIEND.  He doesn’t speak, but he does help solve the case. The cartoon pink panther ended up starring in several cartoon series of his own.  But he was originally created to appear in the opening and closing credits of the movies . . . which, back in the day, starred the legendary PETER SELLERS as the bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau.

St Louis’ own Nelly is about to play a guy who really played the guitar well.  He will play Chuck Berry in a new movie about Buddy Holly. The movie will be called “Clear Lake.” It’s named after the lake in Iowa where Buddy Holly was killed in a plane crash back in 1959.

I have mentioned in the past the “curse” surrounding the cast of the movie Poltergeist right? 4 cast members died during or shortly after filming the movie.  Carol Anne Freeling, the young girl in the movie, was played by Heather O’Rourke. Only six years old when the first Poltergeist film was released, O’Rourke she was misdiagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 1987. The following year, O’Rourke fell ill again, and her symptoms were casually attributed to the flu. A day later, she collapsed and suffered a cardiac arrest. After being airlifted to a children’s hospital in San Diego, O’Rourke died during an operation to correct a bowel obstruction, and it was later believed that she had been suffering from a congenital intestinal abnormality. Dominique Dunne who played the original older sister Dana Freeling. Dunne separated from her partner in 1982, John Sweeney. In November of that year, he showed up at Dunne’s house, pleading for her to take him back. When she refused, Sweeney grabbed Dunne’s neck, choked her until she was unconscious, and left her to die in her Hollywood home’s driveway. Sweeney was sentenced to six and a half years in prison but was released after three years and seven months. Julian Beck and Will Sampson-The other two cast member deaths, while unfortunate, were not as unpredictable or mysterious. The evil preacher Kane from Poltergeist II was played by Julian Beck. In 1983, Beck had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, which took his life soon after he finished work on the second installment of the series. The same film was met with further tragedy, after Will Sampson, who played Taylor the Native American shaman, died after undergoing a heart-lung transplant, which had a very slim survival rate. Well… Zak Bagans, just dropped like $80,000 on the famous clown from “Poltergeist,” and wants to keep it in his bedroom!!! The doll’s supposedly cursed and Zak’s been trying to buy the clown for over a decade. 

In the past Elvis’ jock strap and dirty underwear have gone to auction so this seems a bit mundane. A pair of pants worn by Elvis is on auction currently. His Dad donated them to the Salvation Army back in the day with a note that says… “Not exactly Blue Suede Shoes, but a classic item nonetheless.” On the inside flap, this is stamped: “Name: E. Presley, MGM.” The starting bid for the pants was a very reasonable $300.00 . . . and last we checked, there had been a handful of bids, and the going price was up to $531.00. 

Fox has another talent show to give us. Wayne Brady will host “Game of Talents.” 2 teams will try to figure out the hidden talents of mystery performers through a series of clues. Yes, it’s sort of like “The Masked Singer.” The series is filming currently in production and will premiere in 2021.

As the NFL gets further into the second half of the 2020 season, the league has issued a COVID-19 mandate to all 32 teams meant to reduce potential transmissions of the virus. Roger Goodell sent a memo to all clubs yesterday requiring every team to enter intensive COVID-19 protocol for the remainder of the year. Intensive protocol, which the NFL introduced in October, was initially reserved for teams that either had positive COVID-19 tests or were exposed to a team with positive tests. Among its requirements: All coaches and players must test negative for COVID-19 prior to entering team facilities; all meetings must be held virtually, outdoors or within an approved indoor space; face masks or mouth shields must be worn at all times in the facility and at practice, and no team or player gatherings are permitted outside of team facilities.

After basically a year and a half of speculation thanks to the COVID-19 interruption that pushed the NBA calendar back by six months, the 2020 NBA Draft is finally in the books. The top three picks were Anthony Edwards to the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 1, James Wiseman to the Golden State Warriors at No. 2 and LaMelo Ball at No. 3 to the Charlotte Hornets.

For the first time since 2000, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and Duke did not have a player drafted in the lottery.  Kentucky had a player selected in the lottery for 10 years entering 2020, holding the longest streak by any school since the lottery began in 1985. Kentucky coach John Calipari had a player selected in the lottery for 12 straight years entering 2020 dating back to his days at Memphis.  UNC became the first team of the four to have a player selected in the 2020 NBA draft with Cole Anthony, who’s father played for the NY Knicks, going No. 15 overall to the Orlando Magic. Duke didn’t have a single player drafted in the first round for the first time since 2010.

Tiger Woods and his 11-year-old son, Charlie, have committed to play in the PNC Championship on Dec. 19 and 20. The PNC Championship, which will be played at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, is a father-son tournament for major champions that has been held since 1995. While Woods is one of the winningest golfers in the history of the sport with 15 majors, this year marks the first time he is participating in the PNC Championship. Although the PNC Championship was originally only for major champions and their sons, some adjustments have been made over the years. Notably, LPGA Tour star Annika Sorenstam and her father, Tom, are playing this year, as are Justin Thomas and his father, Kentucky club pro Mike Thomas.

New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano has tested positive a performance-enhancing drug. Because it is his second positive test, Cano has been suspended the entire 2021 season. Cano was also suspended 80 games under the banned substance policy in 2018. The Mets’ said: “We were extremely disappointed to be informed about Robinson’s suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The violation is very unfortunate for him, the organization, our fans, and the sport. The Mets fully support MLB’s efforts toward eliminating performance enhancing substances from the game.” Cano, 38, will forfeit $24 million in salary because of the suspension. The Mariners are responsible for $3.75 million of Cano’s salary with the Mets on the hook for the rest. Cano is under contract at $24 million annually through 2023, so he is expected to rejoin New York in spring training 2022.

Wrigley Field, home to MLB’s Chicago Cubs since 1916, has reportedly been granted federal landmark status in the National Register of Historic Places. The designation will allow the Ricketts family, the owners of the team, to access “federal income tax credits on the recently completed refurbishing” of the stadium, which opened in 1914.
