Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Manson got engaged in 2010, when she was 19 and he was 38.  They split in 2011 . . . and last February, Wood accused him of abuse.  This prompted other alleged victims to come forward. Wood even made a documentary about it, called “Phoenix Rising”.  It hits HBO on the 15th of this month. Now Manson is suing HER for defamation. He says she derailed his career with “a malicious falsehood”.  Also named in the suit is a woman named Illma Gore, who he identifies as Wood’s, quote, “on-again, off-again romantic partner.” He says the two women knowingly made false statements, including a claim that he filmed the sexual assault of a minor. He accuses them of hacking into his computer and social media in order to fabricate evidence against him . . . and he even says they impersonated an FBI agent in order to create the appearance of an ongoing federal investigation (LINK)

Whomever had 8 years on the Kanye West and Kim Kardashian marriage you may be a winner. Yesterday, after about 8 years of marriage Kim has been declared single. It took about three months to get handled.   Kanye objected to the move, but Judge Cochran overruled it.

Netflix is pausing business with Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. They had four Russian projects in the works but said it’s pausing them while it “assesses the impact of current events.” Disney also announced it’s halting its theatrical releases in Russia; Warner Brothers added that it’s halted the release of The Batman due to the invasion of Ukraine. The Cannes Film Festival has also barred Russian delegates from attending any of its events.

The Batman movie is most likely gonna be huge. If you are gonna see it this weekend I hope payday is tomorrow for you.  AMC is testing a “variable pricing” model for the movie. Which is French for it’s gonna cost more than the other movies at the same theater. Their CEO said this is new in the US but not in Europe…”we charge a premium for the best seats in the house — as do just about all sellers of tickets in other industries — take sports events, concerts, and live theater, for example.” SO at least at AMC theaters it may cost you more.

Most enjoyed the Super Bowl Halftime with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent. That didn’t keep a few Karens and Todds from fighting the war on fun. All 33 of them. The complaints:  “So if 2020 wasn’t bad enough now we get to see a bunch of half-naked women sexually twerking.” Another quipped about “scantily clad female dancers who belong in a strip club, not on national TV.”  “This is terrible entertainment for children,” while another whined, “Sexual content of grown hip hop and rap [singers] grabbing their groin and genitals. So offensive to children, the elderly, and families.” By comparison,  the Janet Jackson / Justin Timberlake wardrobe malfunction in 2004. The FCC logged 540,000 complaints.  Shakira and Jennifer Lopez set the most recent high for the key board warriors in 2020 with 1,300.

Here is a new song. You’ve never prob heard this singer before but I bet you can guess the band. SMASH MOUTH has already found a new singer and his name is ZACH GOODE.  If you remember, STEVE HARWELL retired last October due to ongoing medical issues. They debuted their new lineup by Rickrolling the Internet with a cover of RICK ASTLEY’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”. You probably wouldn’t recognize Zach, he’s played in smaller bands and has done voiceover work for commercials.  On a fluke, he sent an email to the band inquiring about their open position. He said, quote, “Hey, you want a guy with some bad ’90s tattoos and a dad bod?  Come talk to me.  I’m right here.  Here’s my YouTube page. ” Smash Mouth responded, and Zach got to meet with the band, and well, the rest is now history. Smash Mouth are expected to return to the road in May and have a couple of dates (LINK) in Mexico on their current tour schedule

Last night the Blues were in NY to take on the Rangers.  They were down 2-0 as the 2nd period was coming to a close and then all of a sudden, the offense woke up.  Back to back to back goals from Ryan OReilly, Ivan Barbashev, and David Perron put the Blues up 3-2 going into the third.  Then the Rangers not only tied it up, but then went up 4-3 on a powerplay with just under 10 to go.  An empty netter sealed the deal for the Rangers as they picked up the 5-3 win.  Up next for the Blues, a game on Saturday afternoon against the Islanders.  Puck drop is scheduled for 11:30AM.

The Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in signing tight end Rob Gronkowski. The Bills reached out to Gronk when he was a free agent last offseason and remain interested despite his uncertain football future. Gronkowski shot down Buffalo’s interest a year ago to return to Tampa Bay and play with Tom Brady. He recorded 55 receptions for 802 yards and six touchdowns in 2021 despite missing five games with injuries. Brady’s retirement this offseason perhaps paved the way for Gronk to finish his career near his hometown. Or…he may retire. Gronkowski previously retired in 2019 before returning with the Bucs a year later.

UFC star Conor McGregor could be on pace to secure his next business investment. On Wednesday, McGregor expressed interest in buying the soccer club Chelsea. He tweeted: “I wish to explore this @ChelseaFC.” The current owner – a Russian –  who has owned the club since 2003, announced his intention to sell the club due to external pressure regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the threat of sanctions from the British government. He purchased Chelsea for nearly $190 million in 2003, and has reportedly turned down offers of $2.9 billion for the club previously.  In April 2021, MCcGregor expressed interest in buying Manchester United, a club he supports.

In a stunning reversal, Russian and Belarusian athletes have been banned from the Winter Paralympic Games for their countries’ roles in the war in Ukraine. The reverse comes less than 24 hours after the IPC on Wednesday announced it would allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete when the Games open on Friday, but only as neutral athletes with colors, flags and other national symbols removed. The IPC now joins sports like soccer, track, basketball, hockey and others that have imposed blanket bans on Russians and Belarusians. The Winter Paralympics open Friday and close on March 13.

EA Sports will remove the Russian national team and all licensed Russian clubs from FIFA 22 in response to the country’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. EA Sports also said they are taking the same step with national and club teams from Russia and Belarus in NHL 22.  FIFA and UEFA suspended the Russian national team from international competition indefinitely. That could jeopardize the status of the men’s national team for the 2022 World Cup. Russia was scheduled to play Poland in a qualifying fixture on March 24.

Former UFC fighter Cain Velasquez was charged with 10 counts, including first-degree attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, after allegedly ramming and shooting a gun into a vehicle carrying a man accused of molesting one of Velasquez’s young relatives. A man named Harry Goularte was recently released from custody after being charged with one felony count of a lewd and lascivious act with a child under the age of 14. The child is a “close relative” of Velasquez but has not been identified. Velasquez is accused of ramming his truck into a vehicle carrying Goularte and then shooting multiple times into the vehicle. Police found a 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun when searching Velasquez’s truck. Eight bullets were missing from the magazines in the gun. Velasquez faces several years in prison if convicted on the charges. A two-time heavyweight champion in the UFC, Velasquez retired from mixed martial arts in 2019. He’s since embarked on a professional wrestling career with stints in WWE and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.  He is 39 years old.

First mention of a death in an on-campus residence was announced by Stanford on Tuesday, but Meyer was not mentioned by name.
