I guess this day was inevitable:  We all finally have too much toilet paper.  Toilet paper sales were down 4% in January and it’s because so many people stocked up last year and are still working through their supplies.

Last year Americans spent $11 billion on toilet paper, which is $2 billion more than the average year . . . so yeah, we went way overboard on hoarding the stuff.

Demi Lovato is speaking out with an apology for the way she handled the whole situation with the frozen yogurt shop The Bigg Chill. Demi called them out over the weekend for putting sugar-free cookies and other diet foods on display. Demi even sent DMs to the company, which she shared on her Instagram Stories. She later fired back at the media and said it’s time to stop “gaslighting women who stand up for themselves.” Now, Demi admits she could’ve handled the situation better. “I am very outspoken about the things that I believe in. I understand that sometimes my messaging can lose it’s meaning when I get emotional,” she says. “I definitely jumped to conclusions and probably shouldn’t have gone about this the way that I have,” she said. “I’m willing to talk to this froyo shop to help get this messaging right… The shop says ummm we are good.  “TO THOSE OF YOU ASKING. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY DONATIONS FROM DEMI‘S TEAM. NOR DO WE WANT ONE,” they wrote. “WE HAVE NOT MADE ANY CHANGES TO OUR MENU. WE HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM DEMI SINCE HER ‘SORRY, NOT SORRY’ APOLOGY ON MONDAY. WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HER TEAM. THESE ARE PHOTOSHOPPED IMAGES. How does a two-night trip to Fiji at a private resort with a dedicated staff of 12, and your own personal five-star chefs, valued at $8,000 sound?! There’s also four nights at the Sailrock Resort in Turks & Caicos, valued at $10,000. The 93rd Oscars will air on ABC at 7. The plan is for high-profile presenters to deal out the awards on a rotating basis. Sounds interesting.

If this doesn’t signal the coming of the Apocalypse, I don’t know what does:  JOE EXOTIC says he’s willing to work with that WITCH CAROLE BASKIN.  Carole’s husband HOWARD . . . the one who did NOT disappear under mysterious circumstances . . . recently said they would help Joe get out of prison if he would support the Big Cat Public Safety Act that they’re trying to get passed into law. And Joe is on board. (AUDIO) But he’ll join the cause if it gets him out. Who’s resume and I describing here… In 2014, He crashed a share house, ran naked through Montauk and unsuccessfully tried to engage in a threesome by allegedly groping the woman’s husband… He was fired from an indie movie the year before after being accused of groping cast and crew members. He denied the claims he groped, but admitted “I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them,” and admitted he propositioned people for sex. “I’m single, depressed, lonely and trying to get a date.” In 2019, He was charged with groping a driver from a ride-hailing service. The video ended with Ronda saying, quote, “Baddest baby on the planet coming to you soon, September 22nd!”

How about a music bio about the band KISS? It is in the works and Netflix is standing by with their checkbook out to acquire the rights. Netflix had no comment. Yet another game where Cardinals starting pitching was not the problem, but maybe lack of offense was.  The Nationals yet again beat the Cardinals 1-0 after Carlos Martinez pitched 6 innings and allowed only 1 run on 4 hits.  But, Max Scherzer was better.  He pitched 6 innings and allow 0 runs while only allowing 4 hits.  The Cardinals now host the Reds for a weekend series.  First pitch tomorrow is scheduled for 7:15PM as KK gets the start for the Cardinals.

The NHL is hoping to begin the 2021-22 season on October 12 with training camps opening September 22. The opening night date is nearly a week later than usual, but a return to a more typical start to the season in general. This year the league moved to a 56-game schedule beginning on January 13 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 regular season is expected to finish on May 13 with the Stanley Cup Final slated to wrap up in mid-July.

NFL owners approved a series of new rules Wednesday for the 2021 season, including one that will expand the influence of replay officials amid ongoing demands from coaches for more oversight of game-day officials. Replay officials will not be able to throw flags or reverse calls on their own. But they can now offer referees advice based on what they’ve seen on broadcast replays in the areas of possession, completed or intercepted passes, the location of the ball relative to the boundary or end line, and whether a player is down by contact. Previously, replay officials had been limited to participating in plays that were under review. Coaches will not have to throw challenge flags to prompt that advice, which some replay officials have been giving referees informally for years.  Another rule is a one-year experiment in an attempt to make it easier to recover onside kicks. In 2021, the receiving team on kickoffs will be limited to nine players within 25 yards of the ball.

Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. will miss time because of a violation of the NBA’s health and safety protocols stemming from visiting a Miami strip club with teammate Sterling Brown that resulted in Brown being assaulted. Porter likely will be out until at least Sunday, Rockets coach Stephen Silas said prior to Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz. The NBA’s health and safety protocols limit where players can go while on the road. Police said Brown had “multiple lacerations throughout his body” when they arrived at the strip club at 6:53 a.m. Monday in response to a fight. Brown, who has been sidelined by a knee injury, was transported to a local hospital.  How bad was the fight?  Apparently someone said if Sterlin wasn’t as fit and in shape – since he’s a professional athlete – he would have died.  He was hit in the head with a bottle that slashed up his face

The tourney will feature three stacked groups, including a Group G headlined by the United States and Sweden. USA has won gold in four of the six Olympics a women’s soccer tournament has been held. The other two teams to have won gold—Germany and Norway—did not qualify for the Olympics. Group G is the only one with two teams in the top five of the FIFA women’s world rankings, as Team USA are No. 1 and Sweden is No. 5. Australia and New Zealand are the other two teams in US and Sweeden’s group.

In his quest to call out every major star who has ever fought in UFC, Jake Paul recently set his sights on former heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.  Appearing on a podcast with his brother Logan, Jake had this to say in response to Cormier’s comments about the controversial YouTube star’s win over Ben Askren in a boxing match: “Shut the eff up b—h. I’ll beat the eff out of your fat ass too. Cleveland ish. I swear to God, I’ll beat the eff out of Daniel Cormier.”

And finally — Congratulations to John Hinkle, Jr. and his father John Hinkle, Sr. for bowling a perfect 300 game.  Why congrats to both?  Well….John’s dad was inside the ball. The younger Hinkle is a two-time NCAA bowling championship winner, who credits his father for introducing him to the game. So, while Hinkle, Jr. was at Peoria, Illinois’ Landmark Lanes on April 12th, he used a bowling bowl – with the thumb hole professionally filled with his dead father’s ashes – to bowl a perfect 300 game. Hinkle said it took forever to find someone to put his dad’s ashes in a bowling ball but believes Hinkle Sr. was there to see him score his perfect 300.  Hinkle said “It’s special. Dad shot 298, 299, never had a 300. I had goosebumps, chills.”
