Alabama won’t get the chance to make good on last season’s loss to Texas A&M until Oct. 8. However, Nick Saban fired a few opening shots at the Aggies when speaking out about name, image and likeness deals. He claims that Texas A&M’s No. 1 rated recruiting class was heavily fueled by NIL deals. “I know the consequence is going to be difficult for the people who are spending tons of money to get players. You read about it, you know who they are. We were second in recruiting last year. A&M was first. A&M bought every player on their team. Made a deal for name, image and likeness. We didn’t buy one player.” Saban stated that Alabama players combined to earn $3 million “by doing it the right way.” And it didn’t stop there….Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher had a response yesterday. In his response, he called Saban a “narcissist” and insinuated that Saban has not followed NCAA rules in the past. “Some people think they’re God,” Fisher said. “Go dig into how God did his deal. You may find out about a guy, a lot of things you don’t want to know. We build him up to be the czar of football. Go dig into his past.” Last night, the SEC came out and reprimanded both coaches and basically told them to chill.

U.S. Women’s Soccer players got what they wanted: Going forward, men and women will be paid EQUALLY. They’ll earn the same game bonuses and appearance fees . . . and they’ll also pool their World Cup prize money and share it down the middle, becoming the first soccer federation in the world to do so. FIFA doesn’t dole that money out equally. The U.S. Women’s National Team filed a lawsuit in 2019 demanding to be paid as much as the male players.
The 2022 PGA Championship kicked off yesterday with first-round action. The trio of McIlroy, Woods, and Speith was the group to watch. Not just because of Tiger, but because of the 22 majors between the three. But, the main show was Rory. He dominated and is in the lead sitting at 5-under. Woods is at +4 after Round 1. However – the most interesting state from the tourney was John Daly. Not only did he share the lead at one point, but this is a stat put out by someone – who we’ve seen some verification. John Daly yesterday smoked 21 cigs, drank 12 diet cokes, at 6 packs of peanut m&ms and drank ZERO ounces of water. He’s the leader in our eyes. The tournament resumes today and wraps up on Sunday.
