David Crosby is a two-time inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the Byrds and with Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.  And he now says HE would like to sell his song catalog.  He gives the reasons “I can’t work” and “Streaming stole my record money.”   Here’s a montage of some of the songs he wrote and performed with those bands.

Post Malone‘s new line of custom Crocs (Post Malone x Crocs Duet Max Clog II) sold out in a few hours when released. But BEFORE all that happened he did something real bad ass. He had the principle at his old high school get the shoe size from every kid and staff member. Then he sent a pair to everyone there. Here is the principle telling the kids, Well, Grapevine HS has a student body of about 1,900 and with maybe 100 or so teachers … we’re talking somewhere in the 2,000 range. One last thing — Post gave away thousands of more pairs of his Crocs all over the world. He partnered with a charity called Musicians on Call — which brings tunes to hospital bedsides — and made sure volunteers and frontline workers involved got taken care of too.

If there’s an appropriate time frame that must be observed before something can be rebooted, HBO must be severely violating it.  “True Blood” just ended its 7-season run in 2014, and there’s already a reboot in the works.  Alan Ball is an executive producer.  He’s the guy who developed the original show.

Miranda Cosgrove is coming back for another go at iCarly (2007-2012). Itll be on Paramount. Its being developed by some of the Simpson people. Nickelodeon will produce. Carly will be all grown up this time.  Also, yesterday CBS All Access added 800 episodes of popular Nickelodeon series including Paw Patrol, Blaze and the Monster Machines and Dora the Explorer as well as a “Kids Mode” that allows parents and caregivers to limit content children can see based on program ratings.

NICOLAS CAGE is hosting a six-episode series for Netflix called “The History of Swear Words”. Each episode is 20 minutes, and focuses on the origins of a single word.  Of the six, the only one I can say on the air is “damn”.  The others start with the letters B, D, P . . . and of course, S and F. There will be celebrity guests, including Sarah Silverman, Nikki Glaser, and Nick Offerman. . . but also linguists, cognitive scientists, and lexicographers.  It’s hitting Netflix on January 5th. I believe this is about all on the letter P I can play

KEVIN HART and WESLEY SNIPES will play brothers in a Netflix series called “True Story”.  It’s actually NOT a true story . . . but it’s not a comedy, either.  This will be Kevin’s first dramatic TV role. He’ll play a world-famous comedian who jeopardizes his career thanks to, quote, “a lost evening with his wayward older brother.” Kevin says, quote, “I’ve never been more excited about an acting project in my career.  I’ve always been a fan of Wesley Snipes and working with him is mind-blowing.”

Theres a trailer for the new “Pinocchio”, starring ROBERTO BENIGNI as Geppetto

50 year old Mariah Carey has a New York Times best-seller with her book The Meaning of Mariah Carey, her life story from a low-income Long Island upbringing to the best-selling female artist of all time. Now she’s in talks to adapt the book into either a limited series or a feature film. And she may even direct whatever it turns out to be. No word on casting or when filming will start. Remember we are anxiously awaiting the same thing from Madonna who is also directing.

Yadier Molina is a free agent for the first time, and the 38-year-old seems to think that the St. Louis Cardinals aren’t taking his demands seriously. Per The Athletic, Molina turned down an offer that he termed “ridiculous.” Saxon did not provide any details about the conversation but noted that the veteran is hoping to ink a one-year deal with an option that is worth at least $10 million but “would prefer” a two-year contract. The lifetime Cardinals catcher, who joined the team in 2004, said in an interview last month that a number of teams are interested, including the New York Yankees, New York Mets and Los Angeles Angels, but he wants to remain in St. Louis.

Speaking of baseball – MLB put out their All-MLB team for 2020.  Now, you can see the whole list on the blog today but lets go over some of the Cardinals making the first and second team honor.  Yup.  The full list can be seen at 1057thepoint.com/Rizz.

The NHL is looking to temporarily realign its divisions for the 2020-21 season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioner Gary Bettman revealed that the league’s realignment will likely feature a Canadian division as a result of border restrictions between the United States and Canada. The proposed Canadian division would feature Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, and Winnipeg — the seven Canadian franchises.  There will also be three other division realignments.  Where would STL fall?  In a division with Anaheim , Arizona, Colorado , Dallas , LA San Jose , and Vegas.  Get ready for some real late nights.

Tonight the Patriots are on the road as they take on the Rams for Thursday night football.  Kick off is scheduled for 7:20PM.  Make your picks at 1057thepoint.com/picks.

The NFL’s chief medical officer, Dr. Allen Sills, told reporters on Wednesday an outbreak of COVID-19 within the Carolina Panthers organization has been linked to a gathering of players outside team grounds. Carolina closed its facilities Monday and Tuesday after eight players were added to the reserve/COVID-19 list after Week 13. Wideouts DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel are among the athletes currently sidelined by the protocols.  Players do not need to test positive for the virus to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list if they are considered high-risk close contacts of anyone currently infected.  Though the Panthers were on a bye last week, daily testing still continued.

Though what James Harden really wants is a trade, he’ll be separated from the Houston Rockets until he can produce six negative tests for COVID-19.  Harden was absent for individual workouts and still had not rejoined the team for the first day of practice on Sunday. Instead, Harden was in Atlanta, where he celebrated the birthday of rapper Lil Baby, and then spent time in Las Vegas.  Harden did not arrive at the Toyota Center for his first COVID-19 test until Tuesday.  The eight-time All-Star turned down an extension that would have made him the league’s first player to be paid more than $50 million per year. Instead, Harden wants to reunite with Kevin Durant on the Brooklyn Nets, where he would also be able to play alongside Kyrie Irving.

The Mizzou Tigers are now 4-0 after their win against Liberty last night.  The Tigers ended up pulling out a 69-60 win.  Their next game is the annual Bragging Rights game against Illinois.  Normally played her in STL, the game will be played this weekend in Columbia after the Tigers won the rights to host the game in a coin flip.  Illinois is currently the 6th ranked team in the country.  SLU is also off until Saturday.  They take on Evansville at 2PM.

And finally – this is one of the reasons why I love Mark Cuban.  The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly cutting ties with long-time veteran guard J.J. Barea. The move comes a month after Barea, 36, signed a one-year, $2.6 million deal with the team. Despite that deal, the Mavericks reportedly expected to part ways with Barea before the 2020-21 NBA season. The contract was apparently team owner Mark Cuban’s way of thanking Barea for his contributions to the franchise. Barea has spent 11 of his 14 seasons with the Mavericks. He won a championship with the team during the 2010-11 season.
