LARRY KING died Saturday morning at a hospital in Los Angeles. He was 87. No cause of death was given, but Larry was hospitalized with COVID-19 earlier this month.
Larry hosted “Larry King Live” on CNN from 1985 to 2010, earning the world record for longest running show with the same host in the same timeslot. Larry never went to college or took a journalism class. He was doing radio in D.C. when CNN hired him. His first guest was then-New York Governor MARIO CUOMO. Larry was a legendary interviewer. Here’s some interviewing tips from Larry . Here is a piece from his final interview some time last year. After leaving CNN, he launched a show called “Larry King Now” for an online network. He also appeared as himself in several movies, including “Dave”, “The Exorcist III”, “Bulworth”, and “Primary Colors”. And he was the voice of DORIS in three “Shrek” movies. Besides his interviewing and his suspenders, Larry was probably best known for GETTING MARRIED. He did it EIGHT times, to seven different women. He married one twice.
Does Piers Morgan say stuff just to get people to talk about him? Here is his post about Larry King being dead…Larry King was a hero of mine until we fell out after I replaced him at CNN & he said my show was ‘like watching your mother-in-law go over a cliff in your new Bentley.’ (He married 8 times so a mother-in-law expert) But he was a brilliant broadcaster & masterful TV interviewer.
Actress Asia Argento has now accused filmmaker Rob Cohen of drugging her with GHB, the date rape drug, and sexually assaulting her during the filming of XXX with Vin Diesel. 41 year old Kourtney Kardashian and 45 year old Travis Barker are in Palm Springs together I believe hanging out at her mom’s place. So I guess they are in love. Barker shares stepdaughter Atiana, 21, daughter Alabama, 15, and son Landon, 17, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler, whom he was married to from 2004-08. Meanwhile, Kardashian and her ex Scott Disick co-parent their three kids: sons Mason, 11, and Reign, 6, as well as 8-year-old daughter Penelope. Kardashian and Disick, 37, ended their nine-year relationship in July 2015.

Americans are now spending an average of $47 a month on streaming services. That’s up 24% from last April, when we were spending $38 a month. 49% of Americans subscribe to FOUR streaming services . . . while 13% of us use SEVEN OR MORE. Obviously, the pandemic has a lot to do with the increase . . . but the launch of several new platforms including HBO Max and Peacock helped. Not surprisingly, Netflix is the #1 streaming service. It’s followed by Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Peacock, and Apple TV+.
Did you know Netflix knows you based on algorithms? Shockingly shocked right? Netflix is rolling out a “shuffle play” feature during the first half of this year. The feature will give the streaming service control over finding and auto-playing a new show for you, based on your algorithms. Netflix COO said the shuffle play feature will become permanent because subscribers “aren’t really sure what they want to watch. It’s really working for us where our members can basically indicate to us that they just want to skip browsing entirely, click one button and we’ll pick a title for them just to instantly play.”
The wrong guy is saying this but the new must-watch show is “Bridgerton” on Netflix. If you are a fan the good news is it has been renewed for a second sseason. It has gotten big after debuting this past Christmas Day.
Is there a movie that ALWAYS makes you cry . . . no matter how many times you’ve seen it? Someone posed that question on Twitter this weekend, and it went viral.
The original poster said these four do it for him: “Apollo 13”, “Big Fish”, “The Green Mile”, and “Saving Private Ryan”. But hundreds of others added THEIR top tear-inducing flicks. “Cider House Rules”, “The Bridges of Madison County”, “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas”, “Ordinary People”, “Crooklyn”, “Grave of the Fireflies”, “Beaches”, “E.T.”, “My Girl”, “Titanic”, “Harold and Maude” . . .The second, third, and fourth “Toy Story” movies, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, “The Notebook”, “The Color Purple”, “Moonlight”, “12 Years a Slave”, “West Side Story”, “The Fault in Our Stars” . . .”Bicentennial Man”, “Up”, “Terms of Endearment”, “Mr. Holland’s Opus”, “Schindler’s List”, “Marley and Me” . . . and someone else said, quote, “Any movie that includes a dog. Any of them. All of them.” Someone said, quote, “There’s something about baseball movies . . .” and another suggested “Field of Dreams” and “A League of Their Own”. A Marvel fan added “Thor”, “The Avengers”, “Thor: The Dark World”, “Thor: Ragnarok”, “Avengers: Infinity War”, and “Avengers: Endgame”. Someone said “Transformers”, but added, quote, “I don’t know why.” Many of these movies were mentioned multiple times, but “Steel Magnolias” was supposedly mentioned so often that the movie started TRENDING on Twitter.
HBO has ANOTHER “Game of Thrones” prequel in the works. This one is called “Tales of Dunk and Egg”, and it follows the exploits of Ser Duncan the Tall . . . a.k.a. “Dunk” . . . and Aegon V Targaryen . . . a.k.a. “Egg”. It’s set 90 years before the events of “Game of Thrones”, and it’s based on a series of novellas GEORGE R.R. MARTIN wrote. The Blues have yet to win back to back games this season, and that trend continued last night as they lost 6-3 against the Kings. On Saturday, the team picked up a 4-2 win at Enterprise, but for the first back to back of the year, they couldn’t pull it together and picked up the loss. The Blues are 3-2-1 and take on the Vegas Golden Knights tomorrow night at 8PM in Vegas.
Super Bowl 55 is set. Tom Brady on the Bucs will take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs who look to repeat. In the early game, the Bucs beat the Packers 31-26 after Tampa jumped out to an early lead. Unfortunately, Green Bay kicked a field goal instead of going for it late in the game and in the red zone and that proved to be the difference maker. In the AFC, the Bills went up 9-0 early but then KC came storming back scoring 21 unanswered and eventually going on to win the game 38-24. This will be Tom Brady’s 10th Super Bowl appearance. Unreal.
Some healthcare workers who have seen the worst of the pandemic will get the gift of a lifetime. The NFL is giving away 7,500 Super Bowl tickets to COVID vaccinated health workers. Because of the pandemic, capacity at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida will be limited to about 22,000 fans. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “These dedicated health care workers continue to put their own lives at risk to serve others, and we owe them our ongoing gratitude. We hope in a small way that this initiative will inspire our country and recognize these true American heroes.” All 32 NFL teams will send health care heroes from their cities to the game.
It looks like Detroit will have a new starting QB next year. Matthew Stafford and the Lions have agreed to part ways. Stafford made the Pro Bowl in 2014 but neither him or his teams have performed like people had hoped. Stafford has been in the league for 11 years

Over in the NBA, the Wizards haven’t played since January 11th. Six games have had to be postponed because of COVID protocol. Last night they finally played another game. They lost, but they did play another game. Their next game is tomorrow night against the Rockets.
KYRIE IRVING is back with the Brooklyn Nets after being Missing In Action over the past few weeks . . . and the results on the court have been mixed. On Saturday, the Nets finally won with Kyrie again . . . and after the game, Kyrie wanted to hug and exchange uniforms with Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat. But these days, hugging opponents is a no-no in the NBA due to COVID-19 rules. So even though they just sweated all over each other for 48 minutes, security wouldn’t let Kyrie and Bam get close to each other. Afterward, Bam said he’d give Kyrie the jersey another time.
By now you’ve probably heard that Conor McGregor suffered a 2nd round knockout from Dustin Poirier on Saturday night. Floyd Mayweather had his Instagram comments ready to go after UFC 257. In response to a post that asked why Mayweather is criticized more than McGregor, Floyd set the record straight. Mayweather answered, “I seen this post and my take on it is that the world knows Con Artist McLoser can steal everything from me and be loved but I’m hated. That just lets you all know that racism still exist. Just know, that bum will never be me or be on my level.” He continued, “Connor cannot even win in his own sport, but talking about coming back to boxing to fight Pacquiao. Nobody wants to see that, it’s like my leftovers eating leftovers.”
19th ranked Mizzou beat 6th ranked Tennessee on Saturday. The Tigers picked up the 73-64 win and now will take on Auburn on the road tomorrow. Illinois is still off until Friday, and 25th ranked SLU will play their first game in over a month tomorrow against Dayton.
