SIMON COWELL is a very successful man. Is Simon Cowell a smart man? Remember that e bike accident he was in back in August of 2020? He broke his back in 3 places. Had pretty major surgery. Last Thursday in London he was going 20 miles per hour on a wet road, when he slipped and flew over the handlebars. Simon had to go to the hospital, but he was released the same day with a broken left arm and a badly bruised cheek. Also PROBABLY a concussion. A source said Simon had blood all over his face like, quote, “something from ‘Phantom of the Opera’.”  And another source added that Simon is doing well and healing at home (LINK)

KELLY tested positive for Covid-19 while in federal jail in Brooklyn, so a judge is giving him a two-week extension to file an appeal for his September conviction for federal racketeering. Kelly was convicted of having sex with underage girls and bribing a state employee to create a fake ID so he could marry AALIYAH. Kelly’s lawyer said his Covid diagnosis, quote, “interfered with his ability to speak with counsel by telephone” to review his post-trial paperwork. It is a bit of a coincidence though that he’s been behind bars since 2019 when he was arrested . . . so basically the entire pandemic . . . and he’s just NOW catching Covid (LINK)

Cancel culture has a decision to make. The subject is a MACHINE GUN KELLY interview 8 years ago when Mr. Kelly was 23. He said his celebrity crush was Kendall Jenner who at the time was 17. This concerned the interviewer who asked if he is counting the days until Kendall is 18. It was Jimmy Page not Robert Plant btw.

If you’re looking for a blast from the past – and have $500,000 lying around – this sweet ride would’ve been perfect. Burt Reynolds‘ 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am went up at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale 2022 auction, and the lucky buyer paid one pretty penny for it. With the final bid at $495,000, this 8-cylinder beast is going home to a hardcore car enthusiast – and hopefully a film buff! Reynolds drove the same type of car in his hit film, “Smokey and the Bandit. While it isn’t the car that appeared on screen, it was a congratulatory gift for his work on the flick … fitting as it was the second-highest-grossing film of that year. To make it even more special, this is the only ’77 Trans Am that Reynolds ever owned and he signed the glovebox! Burt’s car wasn’t the only whip up for auction … Pitbull had his custom 2022 Karma GS-6 EV up for sale, nicknamed “305 EDITION.” It went for $700k with all the proceeds going to benefit the Selfless Love Foundation and Pitbull’s SLAM foundation. David Spade’s 1968 Chevy Chevelle Custom Coupe went on the auction block as well and fetched $374k.

Bo Darville is the name of the main character in what movie? Smokey and the Bandit.

I will give you the character name. You give me the movie title. You have to buzz in using this words

Forty years ago yesterday,February 1st 1982. Letterman’s Late Night talk show. To celebrate he nopw has his very own YouTube channel with a ton of old clips. His first guest was no less than Bill Murray, who busted out a seemingly impromptu rendition of Olivia Newton-John’s sleazy new hit “Physical.” That clip, sadly, is not yet on Letterman’s new channel, but there are already 100 videos on there, among them iconic interviews with Andy Kaufman, Robin Williams, Carrie Fisher, Joaquin Phoenix, and more. You can also watch plenty of famous comedian’s first late night appearances, as well as the first-ever iteration of “Stupid Pet Tricks.” Tom Hanks telling a story about comedian Slappy White is the best (LINK)

Each of the “Coachella Keys” offers different perks, in addition to free admission.  One gets you seats on the Sahara Stage, another comes with a private party with you and your friends, complete with a “surprise host”, and so on. Sports Report 1

Tom Brady announced his retirement on Tuesday morning, marking the end of an incredible career after 22 NFL seasons. Soon after he published his lengthy announcement to Instagram, fans and members of the media quickly noticed that the Patriots, with whom he spent his first 20 seasons and won six Super Bowls, didn’t receive a single mention. The Buccaneers, for whom Brady played from 2020–21 and won last year’s Super Bowl, received about four full pages of thanks, along with shoutouts for his trainer and his agents. It should be noted that Brady wrote at length about his Patriots career after leaving the franchise for the Buccaneers in March 2020.

Brian Flores has sued the NFL and three teams — the Dolphins, the Broncos and the Giants — alleging discrimination regarding his interview processes with Denver and New York and his firing last month by Miami. The 58-page lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court Tuesday and seeks class-action status. In it, Flores alleges the Dolphins owner attempted to incentivize him to “tank,” or purposely lose games, shortly after he was hired in 2019, allegedly offering Flores $100,000 for every loss that season. Flores says that as the team won games late in the season, Dolphins general manager told him the owner was “mad” that Flores’ on-field success was “compromising [the team’s] draft position.”

Additionally, Flores alleges the owner pressured him into recruiting a “prominent quarterback” at the end of the 2019 season, which Flores refused so as not to violate the NFL’s rules on tampering. The owner then allegedly invited Flores onto a yacht for lunch in the winter of 2020, where he informed him that the quarterback was “conveniently” arriving at the marina for an impromptu meeting.

Flores again refused the meeting and left the yacht. Afterward, Flores alleges he was “treated with disdain and held out as someone who was noncompliant and difficult to work with.” He was eventually fired on Jan. 10, 2022, despite recording the franchise’s first back-to-back winning seasons since 2003.  He then interviewed with the Giants via Zoom.  They said they would be bringing him in for an interview this week.  However, a few hours later, Flores got a text from Bill Belichick that said: “Heard from New York…you are their guy.”  One problem….Belichick meant to send the text to BRIAN DABOLL and not BRAIN FLORES.  When Flores asked him what he meant.  Belichick replied: “Sorry…I f***ed this up.  I double checked and misread the text.  I think they are naming Brian Daboll.  Sorry about that.”

Also Flores says that when he interviewed for the Broncos job in 2019 – John Elway showed up an hour late, hungover, and he believes the interview was solely to meet Rooney Rules.  The league, the Dolphins, the Giants, and the Broncos have all refuted the allegations.

Speaking of the Broncos….the team is officially up for sale and will likely have the biggest price tag in North American sports history. The sale was announced Tuesday by the Pat Bowlen Trust, which has operated the team since Bowlen stepped away from day-to-day operations of the team in 2014 due to the early onset of Alzheimer’s disease. The team is valued at just under $4 billion. Steve Cohen paid $2.4 billion in 2020 for the New York Mets, the highest price paid for a North American sports franchise.

The last NFL franchise to be sold was the Carolina Panthers, who were purchased in 2018 by David Tepper for $2.275 billion.

Schoolchildren in Cincinnati will have something to cheer about no matter what happens in the Super Bowl. Cincinnati Public Schools announced Monday that staff and students will have the day off Feb. 14, the day after the Bengals play the Los Angeles Rams. In a letter sent to parents that was obtained by ESPN, the city’s largest school district cited “celebrating” the Bengals’ first Super Bowl victory as the reason it amended the academic calendar and made Feb. 14 a day off. “We hope that you enjoy roaring the Bengals to a win on Sunday and take this time to take pride in our incredible city and amazing football team,” the district said in the statement to parents.

One day ahead of an interview to be the Minnesota Vikings’ next head coach, University of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is still unsure of whether or not he would accept an offer from the Vikings. Harbaugh is expected to interview for the position today, the same day as college football’s national signing day. Harbaugh is believed to be one of at least three coaches still in the mix for the Minnesota vacancy as of Monday, along with Rams offensive coordinator and 49ers defensive coordinator.

Neither Aaron Rodgers nor Tom Brady will be in the 2022 Pro Bowl in Las Vegas this Sunday, so replacements were needed. Kirk Cousins is in for Rodgers, and replacing the all but not officially retired Brady is none other than Russell Wilson. If you wanna see the full roster you can check it out here (LINK)

The on-time opening of spring training camps is probably not gonna happen after a bargaining session Tuesday between baseball owners and players achieved little progress. No follow-up talks on core economic issues were scheduled. Instead, small groups are to meet today on non-core issues. Camps are scheduled to open Feb. 16. The pace and progress of talks would have to accelerate significantly to meet that goal.  Until an agreement is reached, free agency remains on hold. Sixty-one free agents signed in the flurry prior to the start of the lockout Dec. 2. But about 130 free agents remain unsigned. Based on past free agent markets, about 60 of those are in line to sign major league contracts.

The National Women’s Soccer League and the Players Association agreed to their first-ever collective bargaining agreement on Monday night. The landmark deal introduces player free agency, higher salaries with annual increases and other health and wellness benefits through to 2026. Free agency will begin in the 2023 season for players with six or more years in the league. In 2024, players with five years will be eligible for full free agency, and players with three years of service will have restricted free agency. Waived players will receive four weeks of severance pay plus a month of housing and health insurance.
