NICOLAS CAGE’s last major studio movie was “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” in 2011. He’s playing Dracula in the Universal monster movie “Renfield”. It’ll also star NICHOLAS HOULT as the title character, who was Dracula’s insane, bug-eating henchman. The movie is described as a modern-day adventure/comedy. Cage has SORT OF played a vampire before, in the 1989 dark comedy “The Vampire’s Kiss”. . On a sad note, Brandy the Pig, who played Cage’s truffle-hunting buddy in the movie “Pig”, died of a jaw infection (LINK)
Calmatic is the director of the still-upcoming House Party remake (LINK), which is being produced by LeBron James and his SpringHill Company. After that he will remake: White Men Can’t Jump. The original movie, released in 1992 and starred Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes as a pair of basketball hustlers in a world where hustling people at basketball can be a surprisingly eventful career. It will supposedly“follow the same idea as the original. Calmatic’s career pre-House Party involved directing a lot of music videos, including one for a reasonably popular little tune called “Old Town Road.”
New casting has been announced for the upcoming “Live in Front of a Studio Audience” special, and it’s pretty great. Jennifer Aniston will play the snooty rich girl Blair Warner in the “Facts of Life” episode. Gabrielle Union will play Tootie, Kathryn Hahn will play the tough chick Jo, and Allison Tolman, whom you probably wouldn’t recognize, will play Natalie. Yes, these are all adult women playing teenagers. But that’s what they’re doing in the “Diff’rent Strokes” episode, too . . . with Kevin Hart as Arnold and Damon Wayans as Willis. Ann Dowd will play Mrs. Garrett on both episodes. The show airs Sunday night on ABC (LINK)
A doctor is here to tell us how injured the Wet Bandits Marv and Harry in Home Alone would have been in real life thanks to Kevin McCallister’s (LINK)
- BB gun to the head and groin. The doc says the shots could break the skin, but will not penetrate the skull or the scrotum through fabric.
- When an iron falls on Marv’s face in the basement. It’s a serious enough impact to fracture the bones surrounding the eyes and lead to serious disfigurement and debilitating double vision if not repaired properly.
- When Harry grabbed the red-hot doorknob. In order for it to glow like it did, the doorknob would have had to be 751 degrees Fahrenheit. That means there’s a high risk for infection and scar tissue limiting the flexibility and movement of the hand.
- Blowtorch to the scalp. Harry would likely need a transplant because his skin and bone tissue would be so damaged and rotted. Especially since he just stood there and let it burn him for seven seconds.
- Marv walking barefoot on Christmas tree ornaments. This happened to Marv. The doc says this is pretty insignificant compared to all of the other injuries.
- When Harry and Marv are hit in the face by paint cans while trying to climb up the stairs. It would fracture multiple facial bones, maybe knock out teeth, and also knock a person out cold.
- Shovel to the back of the headto Harry and Marv by the elderly neighbor. The doctor is not sure how a flimsy aluminum shovel wielded by an old man knocks them out, when they survived everything else up to that point.
Motley Crue just sold their entire music catalog to BMG for $150 million! This may not be the solid sales number; various sources claim the amount BMG paid was far less and that Motley Crue was paid only half of the deal. The band will get the rest of its catalog cash when it wraps up the summer stadium tour next year with Def Leppard and Poison. Motley Crue didn’t reveal how many zeroes were on this check, but did write “It feels amazing to be collaborating with our new partners at BMG… the perfect home to continue preserving and growing our musical legacy, ensuring we always stay at the top.”

Nothing surprises me about MORGAN WALLEN anymore. Despite being canceled and snubbed just about everywhere . . . it’s looking like “Dangerous: The Double Album” will be the best-selling album of the year. In all genres. According to Hits Daily Double, it’s on pace to sell close to 3.2 million units. That would put him way ahead of Olivia Rodrigo’s album “Sour”, which is projected to sell 2.75 million. The last country album to finish in the overall lead was the original version of Taylor Swift’s “Fearless”, which sold 3.2 million in 2009 (LINK)
Sure, you’ve heard BARRY MANILOW’s “Copacabana”. . . but have you heard DAVE GROHL’s version of Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana”?
BRADLEY COOPER said he was held at knifepoint in 2019 in a subway station in New York City. And what was he doing on a subway at that hour… right before noon? He was on his way to pick up his daughter from Russian school. But didn’t file a report.

The Blues had a real rough start to yesterday’s game against the Lightning. Tampa Bay went up 3-0 early – including a goal from center ice that bounced weird off the boards and went right in between Jordan Binnington’s legs. It was ugly and ugly quick. But – the Blues didn’t stop. A goal from Ryan O’Reilly in the 2nd got things going again. His goal was followed by Logan Brown’s first as a St. Louis Blue. Then in the 3rd – Ivan Barbashev tied things up. Nothing happened in OT and the game went to a shootout where the Blues got a goal from Ryan O’Reilly and Binnington stopped the final shot from Tampa to pick up the 4-3 win. Tomorrow – the two teams meet again this time in Tampa. Puck drops at 6PM.
A day of negotiating brought Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association no closer to a new collective bargaining agreement. The sides met in Texas yesterday… one day before the current agreement is set to expire tonight…10:59 p.m. STL time. On Tuesday, players added potential revenue-generating ideas, such as allowing advertising patches on jerseys and a 12-team postseason. But they also asked for the luxury-tax threshold to be raised to $240 million. It was $210 million last season. To accommodate the playoff grid in a 12-team postseason, the union offered up each league realigning to two divisions, one with eight teams and one with seven. The league wasn’t moved by any of the proposals, which still include changes to free agency, arbitration and revenue sharing among the clubs. The sides will meet again today with less than 24 hours until the old CBA expires.
LeBron James has entered the league’s health and safety protocols, and he did not play in the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the Kings last night. It is expected that James will miss several games. Talen Horton-Tucker started in James’ place and scored two points in 16 minutes. Vogel said the team found out James was entering the health and safety protocols on Tuesday morning and arranged for transportation for James to return to L.A. from Sacramento. Vogel declined to answer a reporter’s question about what symptoms James is experiencing, but Anthony Davis had mentioned that he believes that LeBron is asymptomatic.
If you are like most folks – the college football playoff ranking system is confusing. Here is the easiest breakdown after they released the latest rankings yesterday….. Unbeaten Georgia remained No. 1 for the fifth consecutive week, followed by Michigan, Alabama, Cincinnati and Oklahoma State. As long as Michigan defeats No. 13 Iowa in Saturday’s Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis, it figures to play in a CFP semifinal at either the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic or Capital One Orange Bowl. The Bulldogs play Alabama in Saturday’s SEC championship game in Atlanta. Georgia might get into the CFP even if it loses because of its dominance this season. The final rankings, determining which four teams will play in the two CFP semifinals on New Year’s Eve, will be released Sunday.
The European Union said Tuesday that it wants China to release “verifiable proof” that tennis player Peng Shuai is safe and to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into her sexual assault allegations. Peng, a three-time Olympian and former top-ranked doubles player, dropped out of public view after accusing a former Communist Party official of sexual assault. Peng only has had a few direct contacts with officials outside China since she disappeared from public view earlier this month. She told Olympic officials in a Nov. 21 video call from Beijing that she was safe and well. Peng made the sexual assault allegation online against a former member of the Communist Party’s ruling Standing Committee. The tennis player’s post was removed within minutes, and she stopped appearing in public.
Brian Kelly briefly met with the Notre Dame football team on Tuesday morning before leaving the program. Kelly met with the team for 11 minutes, while other reports say that the meeting was closer to two minutes and that Kelly didn’t stop to take questions from players. After reportedly texting the team on Monday night regarding his departure for LSU, Kelly held the meeting at 7 a.m. in the university’s football facility before leaving campus. “Let me first apologize for the late night text and, more importantly, for not being able to share the news with you in person that I will be leaving Notre Dame. Our program is elite because of your hard work and commitment and I know that will continue. I will share more in the morning when we meet.” Kelly is leaving Notre Dame after 11 years. LSU officially confirmed the news Tuesday morning, announcing a 10-year contract worth $95 million.
