So . . . Pete Davidson’s personality might not be the only thing that attracts the ladies. It might also have something to do with his SWEET 10-INCHER. Charlamagne tha God was on a podcast called “The Brilliant Idiots”, and he said that back when Pete started dating Kim Kardashian, Kanye West tried to get Charlamagne to help him TRASH Pete. But Charlamagne wouldn’t do it, because he and Pete are friends. And Kanye got HOT, and screamed, quote, “My wife is out here [effing] a white boy with a 10-inch penis! And you won’t help me! You’re telling me that’s your friend? When you’re supposed to be culture?” So make of that what you will.
Salman Rushdie is still recovering from that brutal knife attack in Western New York state over the summer, but he WILL recover. But the attack left its mark. Wylie says, quote, “[His wounds] were profound, but he’s [also] lost the sight of one eye . . . He had three serious wounds in his neck. One hand is incapacitated because the nerves in his arm were cut. And he has about 15 more wounds in his chest and torso.” Rushdie is 75 years old. His attacker, 24-year-old Hadi Matar of Fairview, New Jersey, has pleaded not guilty.
Matthew Perry said that all of his “Friends” co-stars rallied around him when he was struggling with addiction. But one of them did a little more than the others. In an interview with Diane Sawyer airing Friday night on ABC, he says it was Jennifer Aniston. Quote, “She was the one that reached out the most. You know, I’m really grateful to her for that.” And in an interview with the “New York Times”, Matthew estimated that he spent $9 MILLION trying to get sober. Matthew’s new memoir, “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing”, drops November 1st.
Speaking of Matthew Perry….he is opening up about his relationship with Julia Roberts. The two actors dated in the late 1990s after her guest appearance on Friends, where she played a former classmate of Chandler’s in the special Super Bowl episode. He said: “Julia had been offered the post-Super Bowl episode in season 2 and she would only do the show if she could be in my story line. Let me say that again — she would only do the show if she could be in my story line. But first, I had to woo her. Not only did Julia agree to do the show, but she also sent me a gift: bagels — lots and lots of bagels. Sure, why not? It was Julia f***ing Roberts.” They were actually a couple by the time they filmed the episode. However, they split soon afterward. “Dating Julia Roberts had been too much for me,” he confessed in the new book. “I had been constantly certain that she was going to break up with me.”
The Rock’s Black Adam was top at the box office with $67 million. Internationally, Black Adam kicked off with $73 million from 76 markets for a global tally of $140 million. Coming in No. 2 was Ticket to Paradise, starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney as two bickering exes who try to stop their daughter from getting married. The romantic comedy did better than expected earning $16.3 million.
In case you missed it, Lena Dunham is writing and directing a live-action Polly Pocket movie with Lily Collins as Polly. It’ll be about Polly encountering a “big” world. Lena said she’s currently finishing her second draft of the script. Quote, “Let’s just say Polly Pocket was at her best when she was the original teensy tiny ’90s size . . . “They made her a little bigger now, which I support, because of choking hazards. But I’m writing ’90s tiny.” No word when it’s expected to start filming or be released.
Tim Burton won’t be working with Disney again anytime soon. He said the company has become very consolidated with less room for things that are different. He spoke at a cinematography festival in France where he was being honored with the Lumieres Award, which is prestigious in the French film industry. Quote, “My history is that I started out [at Disney]. I was hired and fired, like, several times throughout my career there. The thing about ‘Dumbo’, is that’s why I think my days with Disney are done . . . I realized that I was Dumbo, that I was working in this horrible big circus and I needed to escape. That movie is quite autobiographical at a certain level.” And no, he doesn’t have an interest in working with Marvel either. He said he can only deal with one universe, NOT a multiverse.
Back in July, Derek Berry — this time working with the events platform Bucket Listers — helped launch The Golden Girls Kitchen in the Los Angeles area. Now, that pop-up is slated to start a run in New York City next month. Billed as a “fully immersive pop-up restaurant” that takes “fans of all ages to 1980s Miami, safely transporting them into the world of their favorite golden gals,” The Golden Girls Kitchen will open on Wednesday, November 16 at Skorpios in Midtown Manhattan. Beyond the new location, the other details are very similar to the pop-up that ran in Beverly Hills. The ticketed fast-casual restaurant will give customers a reserved seat and guaranteed 90-minute window for dining, entree and cheesecake included, all of which Bucket Listers says is “served by a lovable Shady Pines waiter.” Menu options include items like Sophia’s Lasagna Al Forno, The Lanai: A “Miami-Style” Cuban Sandwich, Blanche’s Georgia Style Cookie, and the Bacon Lettuce Potato Sandwich (Say It Fast). Cheesecake varieties include chocolate, strawberry, pumpkin, and Oreo, or you can upgrade to the Sperheoven Krispies which includes cheesecake, strawberries, and chocolate ice cream. And don’t fret: Cocktails and mocktails are also available.
Nobody was getting their EMO on in Las Vegas on Saturday, because the When We Were Young festival had to be canceled just one hour before showtime, due to high winds. The MASSIVE bill includes My Chemical Romance, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, AFI, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, Alkaline Trio, and tons more. Check this out, though: All-American Rejects, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Hawthorne Heights were among several bands that played FREE SHOWS at other venues around town. Bring Me the Horizon played a show at another site too, but they charged 80 bucks. When We Were Young resumed last night, and there’s one more show set for next Saturday.
The Zac Brown Band canceled their show in Vancouver, Canada on Friday after some crew members were denied entry at the border. It was NOT because of Covid. Zac released a statement saying some crew members had charges on their records from over a decade ago, and even though they “have since been removed” they were weren’t allowed in. So he pulled the plug on the show. Quote, “We’re a family. We stick together and support each other, and never leave anyone behind. As a band who prides themselves on showing up with excitement and professionalism, we will always play where we are welcome.” The weird part is that the band has been performing regularly in Canada, including twice THIS year. Quote, “Each time we’ve come to Canada, we have been at the mercy of a single border agent who decides who is allowed in to work, and unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it in the country [this time.]”
There may be several reasons why Blake Shelton decided that next season would be his last on “The Voice”. But according to Radar.com, he did it because Gwen Stefani applied the pressure. An insider close to the couple said, quote, “Gwen wants him to spend more time with her, so they can ensure a happy future together.” You have to admit, Blake does get around. When he’s not touring, hunting, doing charity events, or yapping away on a talk show, you might see him hanging out at one of his Old Red restaurants. The insider said his busy schedule has been an issue since the couple got married. They can’t even agree where to live. They split time between Gwen’s $13 million mansion in Encino, California . . . or Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma.
DJ Shaquille O’Neal tried to set a Guinness World Record last month at the the Lost Lands Festival. Performing under his moniker DJ Diesel, Shaq took the stage after putting the call out to his fans. “Should we go for Guinness world record for biggest moshpit at@lost_lands???,” he tweeted. It looked like the fans came prepared to give Shaq what he was asking for as the mosh pit activity was heavy during his set. As for whether Shaq completed the “largest mosh pit” at Lost Lands, that may be hard to figure out. When DevilDriver claimed to have broken the Guinness World Record for “largest circle pit” at 2007’s Download Festival, the Guinness committee rejected the attempt due to the inability to “define where any circle/mosh pit starts and ends.” So an official record may be hard to come by where the “largest mosh pit” is concerned.
This really shouldn’t come as a surprise: On Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours after its release, Taylor Swift’s new album “Midnights” had already broken Spotify’s record for the most-streamed album in a single day. Taylor Tweeted, quote, “How did I get this lucky, having you guys out here doing something this mind blowing?! Like what even just happened??!?!”
Beyoncé released her album Renaissance in July and now fans get to experience it live! Bey just confirmed her tour over the weekend. Valued at a total of $20,000, United x WACO offers you a chance to see Beyonce on her Renaissance Tour starting in the Summer of 2023 at any of United’s national and international destinations around the world.” It’s believed the package sold for $50,000! As of writing, Beyoncé has yet to officially announce the Renaissance tour dates but it looks like fans should get ready!
We will have new Drake and 21 Savage to hear this week. The two will release an album titled Her Loss this Friday. Drake and Savage revealed the news in the newly released “Jimmy Cooks” video. The team-up follows other Drake and 21 Savage pairings in the past like “Knife Talk,” “Mr. Right Now,” “Sneakin'” and “Issa.”
Taylor Swift promised a “special very chaotic surprise” in the wee hours after her album Midnights dropped and she didn’t disappoint. As the clock struck 3 am ET, or midnight on the west coast, Taylor released her “3 am tracks.” “Surprise!,” she writes on social media. “I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13.” The 20-track version of Midnights is titled Midnights (3am Edition), and includes the previously-unannounced numbers “The Great War,” “Bigger Than The Whole Sky,” “Paris,” High Infidelity,” “Glitch,” “Would’ve, “Could’ve, Should’ve.’ You won’t find these on the Midnights album which dropped at 12 a.m. on Oct. 21. Instead, search for the album titled Midnights (3am Edition) wherever you stream your music.
Korn bassist Fieldy has updated fans on his life since going on hiatus from the band last year, writing “Things are great, I’m having a blast, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life and I’m enjoying reaching out to you fans more and more.” Fieldy just released a new song called “Rock The House” with Stillwell, his project with the drummer from POD drummer. Fieldy also took a moment to clarify his “bad habits” statement he gave last year while taking a break from Korn. He said “Sometimes I have bad habits. But to clarify, when I made the statement about my bad habits, they weren’t drugs…I’ve never tried cocaine. I’ve never tried heroin. … I drink Bud Light, man.” While holding a beer can, Fieldy said “I don’t condone this. But when I’m done with all my responsibilities, I have a Bud Light. Or as many as I want to tell you the truth, I’m a grown man. But I know I gotta get up at 5 in the morning because I’m responsible.” He added that there was no beef with the members of Korn.

Torey Krug and Justin Faulk scored for the Blues (3-0-0), who are the only undefeated team in the NHL. Binnington got his 11th NHL shutout and first of the season. Here is the final call there from Christopher Kerbs. Blues take on the Jets tonight in Canada with a local start of 7:00pm
Here’s what ended up winning the NLCS for the Philadelphia Phillies. They were trailing the San Diego Padres 3 to 2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Bryce Harper took a swing, at what’s being called a defining moment in his career. Check it out (This two-run homer would secure the game, the series, and the National League pennant.)
In the signature swing of his career, Bryce Harper in his eighth-inning drive against San Diego on Sunday in Game 5 sent the Phillies into the World Series for the first time since 2009 and earned him the NL Championship Series MVP. They’ll take on the dorky Astros, who are 7-0 this postseason after finishing off a four-game sweep of the New York Yankees in the AL Championship Series. Here’s the final call there and even the announcer is bored with the Astros. – Alex Bregman’s go-ahead single made a 6-5 win Sunday night. This marks the Astros’ fourth trip to the World Series in six years and their only title in 2017 was tainted by an illegal sign-stealing scandal. Last season, they lost to Freddie Freeman and the underdog Atlanta Braves in six games.

In Week 2, the Chiefs beat the Chargers 27-24 after falling behind 10-0. Earlier this month, the Chiefs wiped out a 17-point deficit and beat the Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium. And on Sunday, the Chiefs were in a 10-0 hole against the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, but ended up thumping San Francisco 44-23. With Mahomes at quarterback, the Chiefs now have a 13-9 record in games when trailing by double digits in the regular season or playoffs. That’s a .591 winning percentage, and would equate to a 10-win season.
The MLS Cup playoffs are down to the final four teams after Austin FC and defending champion New York City FC advanced Sunday, joining the Philadelphia Union and LAFC in the conference finals.
Austin knocked out in-state rival FC Dallas 2-1 Sunday night and will travel to Los Angeles to face the Supporters Shield winners next week. NYCFC’s 3-1 win at CF Montreal sets up a can’t-miss rematch with the Philadelphia Union, which lost in controversial fashion to the eventual 2021 champs at the same stage last year. If some of those words are unfamiliar to you but you’d like to know more to prepare for our team starting up next spring, Michelle Smallmon and I will have a second episode of our new Soccer 101 podcast available on 101espn.com and all podcast directories.
