“Star Wars” star DAVID PROWSE died of complications from COVID-19, according to his daughter.  She said that he’d contracted the coronavirus, and had been hospitalized for two weeks.  He was 85. 

Apparently Ice-T’s father in law was a staunch non mask/the virus is no big deal kinda guy. I say WAS not because he died but because he got Covid and is in the hospital in bad shape. Was ICE-T a little too hard on his father-in-law for catching COVID?  The other day, he posted a picture from the hospital of dad in law getting oxygen. And he captioned it, quote, “My father-in-law . . . was a serious ‘No Masker’.  COVID hit him.  Pneumonia in both lungs . . . 40 days in ICU close to death . . . Now he’s on Oxygen indefinitely.  Ohhh he’s a Believer now . . . #COVIDisNotAGame” Was he enjoying the “I told you so” a little much?  He got crap on the socials then posted that he used a family member he loves because he wants others to take this seriously.

Speaking of apologizing rapper/hip hop artist TRAVIS SCOTT certainly is NOT. He hooked up with McDonald’s earlier this year for a meal promotion. What, a rapper hooking up a major fast food chain? Cred gone right? He was too busy counting the cash. McDonald’s paid Travis at least $5 million up front, and his Mickey D’s merchandise brought him another $15 million . . . for a grand total of $20 million. Travis also makes about $10 million a year from Nike, and he’s banked at least $1 million helping Sony promote the PlayStation 5. 

Mads Mikkelson will replace Johnny Depp in the next Fantastic Beasts film. Depp removed after that lawsuit and all the dirt from his and Amber Heard’s marriage came out. Well, remember that online petition urging the studio to remove Amber Heard from the upcoming Aquaman sequel?  It now has more than 1.5 million signatures. It was created by Jeanne Larson  and is addressed to executives at both DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Showbiz marriages…In her divorce stuff Kelly Clarkson and estranged husband Brandon Blackstock were fighting over the kids(6-year-old River and 4-year-old Remy). Kelly was just awarded primary custody. Brandon apparently has decided he wants to live on their ranch in Montana and wanted joint custody of the kids.  Oh also, Brandon filed asking Kelly to pay him $436,000 a month — $301k in spousal support and $135k in child support. He also wants $2 million in attorney’s fees. The order also says neither Kelly nor Brandon can talk smack about the other to the kids. The order also says neither parent can consume booze or weed within 8 hours of driving a car with the kids inside. The divorce is ongoing. According to the interwebs she is worth about $45 million and he about $5 million.

The cult classic “The Toxic Avenger” is being remade and they just signed PETER DINKLAGE. The original came out in 1984, and it was about a goofy kid named Melvin, the mop boy at a health club.  After some bullies play a prank on him, he falls into a vat of toxic waste and becomes The Toxic Avenger, New Jersey’s first superhero!!! There’s no word who Peter will play in the remake.  It’s been described as a “contemporary reimagining that will subvert the superhero genre.”  Which is pretty much what the original did.

The NFL has moved the scheduled matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens from today to tomorrow afternoon at 2:40 p.m. This marks the third time the game has been postponed, as it was originally scheduled for Thanksgiving night and initially rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 29. Wednesday was being considered as a possibility, as it “would give one more day to make sure COVID-19 outbreak with Ravens is under control and also give them a day to get a practice in.” The shift to Wednesday isn’t a surprise. Ravens players had a players-only meeting recently to express serious concern about playing on Tuesday. They have been adamant about wanting a day to practice.  The Ravens have not practiced since last Tuesday.

The NFL has fined the New Orleans Saints $500,000 and stripped them of a 2021 seventh-round draft pick for violating league COVID-19 protocols. The New England Patriots were fined $350,000 for similar violations…but neither the league nor the teams have announced the fines or loss of draft pick. New Orleans was fined as a repeat offender; Sean Payton previously was docked $150,000 and the team $250,000 because the head coach failed to properly wear a face covering during a Week 2 game against the Raiders. The more recent issue with the Saints came after a Week 9 win over Tampa Bay when the team’s celebrations included players not wearing masks while in close proximity to one another. The celebrations were captured on video by some players and posted to social media. The Saints are expected to appeal the discipline.

Texans wide receiver Will Fuller V and cornerback Bradley Roby have each been suspended for six games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy. Fuller announced Monday on his Instagram page that he was suspended after taking what he said was prescribed medication he thought was permissible. The Texans are 4-7 on the year, but they’ve won three of their last four games and have bounced back some after firing head coach Bill O’Brien.

Former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Kyle Shurmur is headed to the Denver Broncos, as Denver’s quarterback room is feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shurmur, the son of Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, is signing with the team and will join his father once he moves through the league’s COVID-19 protocols. The Broncos played without a quarterback in a 31-3 loss to the Saints on Sunday, with Drew Lock, Jeff Driskel, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles all on the league’s reserve/COVID-19 list. Practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton, who played quarterback for three years at Wake Forest, stepped up under center for the team Sunday. He completed one pass for 13 yards and was intercepted twice as Denver’s offense produced just 112 yards overall.

Jake Paul may have incurred the wrath of local officials in Calabasas, California, for hosting a party after his knockout of Nate Robinson on Saturday. TMZ Sports reported that officials are actively looking into ways to punish Jake” Paul made quick work of Robinson, knocking out the former NBA star in the second round of their six-round bout. He shared a series of photos from his post-fight celebrations, which showed multiple people in close proximity without wearing masks.

Catcher James McCann is a hot commodity on the free-agent market, with the New York Yankees, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Angels all reportedly interested. The White Sox would also like to keep him, but they already have Yasmani Grandal behind the plate, blocking McCann’s path for more playing time. The Phillies could get involved as well if they are unable to retain J.T. Realmuto, the consensus top catcher on the open market this offseason. McCann has had two impressive seasons with Chicago after an up-and-down start of his career with the Detroit Tigers. He earned his first All-Star selection in 2019 when he set career highs with 18 home runs and 60 RBI.

Trevor Ariza has had a lengthy playing career in the NBA due to his above average defense and ability to hit the shot from deep. Still…Ariza just can’t seem to find a permanent home, as he has now been traded more times than any player in league history. After Ariza was officially dealt to the Oklahoma City Thunder from the Detroit Pistons, it marked the 10th time in his career that he has been traded elsewhere. Ariza started this offseason in Portland, but he was sent to the Houston Rockets. Ariza didn’t stay in Houston for long, as he was offloaded to Detroit in the sign-and-trade deal. Finally, Detroit flipped him to Oklahoma City in a deal. Even though Ariza just turned 35 years old, teams from all around the league want to pick up a cheap veteran defender like him.

Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton will miss this weekend’s Grand Prix after testing positive for COVID-19.  Hamilton tested positive on Monday, the day after his victory at Sunday’s race. Hamilton tested negative three times the previous week, including Sunday afternoon, but he woke up Monday morning with mild symptoms and tested positive. It is not yet clear who will replace Hamilton at Mercedes, which has won 11 of this year’s 15 races.
