He said the platform is “moving to having a small monthly payment for use of the X system” to battle online bots. Musk didn’t say exactly how much he plans to charge or when the monthly fee will go into effect. (NBC News)
More women have come forward with sexual assault allegations against Russell Brand, after the U.K. paper The Times, which published the original story. So far, Scotland Yard says none of the women have filed criminal complaints, however, Bluebird Books, which has published several of Brand’s self-help books, has pulled the plug on Recovery: The Workbook, which was slated for release in December. The publisher issued a statement saying, “These are very serious allegations and in the light of them, Bluebird has taken the decision to pause all future publishing with Russell Brand.” And an old quote from Brand’s ex-wife Katy Perry has resurfaced in light of the rape allegations. In a 2013 interview with Vogue, she said, “I felt a lot of responsibility for [our marriage] ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”
In some better news – we don’t deserve Jennifer Garner. What could seem like a publicity stunt, isn’t one. Paparazzi was following Jennifer Garner in her car at Santa Monica beach, leaning out of the window and handing a bag of essentials to a homeless man in a wheelchair. Then she got out of the car, put socks on his feet, and tried to GIVE HIM HER SHOES. But hers didn’t fit . . . so she asked the guy who was recording her if she could buy HIS shoes for the guy. He ended up forking over his shoes, plus a blanket, a shirt, and pants. The video will warm your heart – LINK

Comedian Hasan Minhaj is the latest celebrity to fabricate his experiences with racism in the U.S. “In Minhaj’s approach to comedy, he leans heavily on his own experience as an Asian American and Muslim American, telling harrowing stories of law enforcement entrapment and personal threats. For many of his fans, he has become an avatar for the power of representation in entertainment,” writes Clare Malone in a profile in the New Yorker. “But, after many weeks of trying, I had been unable to confirm some of the stories that he had told onstage.” When the author confronted him, Minhaj admitted the stories he tells on stage are often exaggerated or made up and Minhaj suggests there’s no harm in his lying about racism because he is a comedian: Comedian Hasan Minhaj Admits He Lied About Being Victim of Racism – OutKick – LINK

Marilyn Manson will have to pay a $1200 fine and service 20 hours of community service after a plea deal was struck in the case where he was accused of spitting at and blowing his nose on a videographer. Manson appeared in a New Hampshire courtroom Monday to plead no contest to one charge of simple assault. The deal with prosecutors requires him to complete the community service within six months and inform New Hampshire authorities if he is going to do a concert in the state within the next two years. The incident took place at a concert on August 19th 2019, at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire. The videographer didn’t object to the plea deal but had a victim statement read that said, “I understand this was not a big criminal charge to begin with, but I was hoping that the defendant would receive a sentence that would make him think twice before doing something like this again.” As Manson left the courtroom he told WMUR-TV that he wanted to work with people in recovery during his community service hours – LINK
