Bobby Brown has lost another kid … his son Bobby Brown Jr who was only 28. has died.  Bobby Jr. was found dead yesterday in his home in the L.A. area. As of 330 this morning cops were still there and no foul play was suspected.  Bobby Jr.’s half-sister Bobbi Kristina died when she was just 22 years old after she was found lifeless in the bathtub of her Georgia home. She was on life support for several months before she passed in July 2015. The coroner determined Bobbi Kristina’s cause of death was drowning in the tub while she had toxic levels of cocaine and alcohol in her system. Rewind to mom Whitney Houston, who had died 3 years earlier from an accidental overdose while in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Jr. is one of Bobby’s seven children. He was 13 when he, along with Bobbi Kristina, appeared on the family’s short-lived Bravo reality show, “Being Bobby Brown.” His mother is Kim Ward, who Bobby dated off and on for 11 years before he got engaged to Whitney.

NAYA RIVERA’s ex-husband RYAN DORSEY has filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of their 5-year-old son Josey. Ryan is suing Ventura County, claiming that the boat Naya and Josey were on when she drowned over the summer didn’t comply with safety standards. The lawsuit states that the boat was, quote, “not equipped with a safely accessible ladder, adequate rope, an anchor, a radio or any security mechanisms to prevent swimmers from being separated from their boats, nor any flotation or lifesaving devices.” It also says there were no signs warning of dangerous conditions on the lake, and the person who rented Naya the boat didn’t warn her to wear a life vest. Ryan claims that when Naya and Josey jumped into the lake, the boat started “rocking back and forth forcefully in the current and wind,” and drifted away from them.  And he says proper safety equipment would have prevented that.

“The Bachelor” is entering its 25th season . . . and it’s been surprisingly steady in the ratings for most of its run.  Which always has me wondering:  Who’s watching this show?  Well, here’s some data on that . . .According to a new survey, the show’s main fanbase is women, which isn’t shocking.  77% are female, 23% are male.  And three quarters of the viewers are WHITE.  About 12% are Hispanic, and 7% are Black. It’s possible that those demographics shift a bit this season, when the show will feature Matt James, who is black. Interestingly, most men who watch “The Bachelor” are UNDER the age of 45 . . . while most of the women who watch it are 45 and OLDER.  In fact, 26% of the women who watch it are older than 65.

“Wonder Woman 1984” is still scheduled to hit theaters on Christmas Day.  Whatever theaters are still open by then, that is.  But thanks to COVID-19, the decision has been made to also drop it onto HBO Max that same day . . . but only for a month. Director Patty Jenkins says, quote, “At some point you have to choose to share any love and joy you have to give, over everything else. “We love our movie as we love our fans, so we truly hope that our film brings a little bit of joy and reprieve to all of you this holiday season.” And GAL GADOT adds, quote, “It wasn’t an easy decision and we never thought we’d have to hold on to the release for such a long time but COVID rocked all of our worlds.”

Some people freaked out when the Charlie Brown specials moved exclusively to Apple TV+ . . . because then they’d no longer be airing on broadcast TV. Well, the people at Apple have apparently reconsidered, and are allowing the next two . . . “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” . . . to air on PBS.  At least this year. The Thanksgiving special will air this Sunday on PBS stations, while the Christmas one is set for December 13th.

ARIANA GRANDE and JENNIFER HUDSON will be part of “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special” on Apple TV+.  They also teamed up with Mariah for a new version of her holiday song “Oh Santa!” This isn’t just a variety show, by the way . . . it actually has a plot.  Wanna hear it?  Well, too bad . . . you’re going to anyway. The Foo Fighters are scheduled to perform on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight. It’s not confirmed but it looks like the band will perform their new single, “Shame, Shame” from their upcoming album, Medicine at Midnight. Front man Dave Grohl will also stick around for an interview.

With the NBA now moving full speed ahead with a late-December start for its 2020-21 season, the pressure is building for the NHL.  Over the past week, both the NHL and NHLPA have been engaged on daily calls regarding the upcoming 2021 season. So far, it appears as though these wide-ranging discussions, while far from complete, are yielding some results that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise — whether it be a shortened number of games an All-Canadian division and other regional-based realignments. Rumors of what was discussed at the meeting was all the listed previously as well as the potential of players being asked to take yet another pay cut.

Tonight on Thursday Night Football…it’s the Arizona Cardinals heading to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.  Don’t forget to make your picks at 1057thepoint.com/picks…kick off tonight is scheduled for 7:20PM.

As the NFL gets further into the second half of the 2020 season, the league has issued a COVID-19 mandate to all 32 teams meant to reduce potential transmissions of the virus. Roger Goodell sent a memo to all clubs yesterday requiring every team to enter intensive COVID-19 protocol for the remainder of the year. Intensive protocol, which the NFL introduced in October, was initially reserved for teams that either had positive COVID-19 tests or were exposed to a team with positive tests. Among its requirements: All coaches and players must test negative for COVID-19 prior to entering team facilities; all meetings must be held virtually, outdoors or within an approved indoor space; face masks or mouth shields must be worn at all times in the facility and at practice, and no team or player gatherings are permitted outside of team facilities.

After Raiders defensive end Clelin Ferrell and cornerback Lamarcus Joyner tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, more than half of the team’s starting defense is currently on their reserve/COVID-19 list.  While they will not be allowed to participate in this week’s practices, each player will be eligible to face the Chiefs on Sunday if they test negative for the virus throughout the week. The Raiders, 6-3 and in second place in the AFC West, defeated the defending champion Chiefs in Kansas City back in Week 5, 40-32. Despite the number of Raiders currently on the team’s COVID-19 list, the game is still scheduled to take place on Sunday night.

After basically a year and a half of speculation thanks to the COVID-19 interruption that pushed the NBA calendar back by six months, the 2020 NBA Draft is finally in the books. The top three picks were Anthony Edwards to the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 1, James Wiseman to the Golden State Warriors at No. 2 and LaMelo Ball at No. 3 to the Charlotte Hornets.

For the first time since 2000, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and Duke did not have a player drafted in the lottery.  Kentucky had a player selected in the lottery for 10 years entering 2020, holding the longest streak by any school since the lottery began in 1985. Kentucky coach John Calipari had a player selected in the lottery for 12 straight years entering 2020 dating back to his days at Memphis.  UNC became the first team of the four to have a player selected in the 2020 NBA draft with Cole Anthony, who’s father played for the NY Knicks, going No. 15 overall to the Orlando Magic. Duke didn’t have a single player drafted in the first round for the first time since 2010.

What was supposed to be a night full of possibilities for the Golden State Warriors turned out to be a potential disaster. After drafting the second overall pick in the draft, news broke that Klay Thompson, while ramping up his workouts, had suffered what is feared to be a “significant Achilles injury.”  If its just a small issue with the Achilles, he could be out for a few months, if it’s a significant injury, he could be done for the year – and possibly then some.

The Philadelphia 76ers acquired a historically elite 3-point shooter who happens to be married to the coach’s daughter, completing a draft-night trade that sent shooting guard Josh Richardson and the No. 36 pick in Wednesday’s NBA draft to the Dallas Mavericks for Seth Curry. Curry, whose father-in-law is new Sixers coach Doc Rivers ranks second in NBA history in career 3-point percentage  behind only Steve Kerr and four spots ahead of his brother, two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry.

New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano has tested positive a performance-enhancing drug. Because it is his second positive test, Cano has been suspended the entire 2021 season. Cano was also suspended 80 games under the banned substance policy in 2018. The Mets’ said: “We were extremely disappointed to be informed about Robinson’s suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The violation is very unfortunate for him, the organization, our fans, and the sport. The Mets fully support MLB’s efforts toward eliminating performance enhancing substances from the game.” Cano, 38, will forfeit $24 million in salary because of the suspension. The Mariners are responsible for $3.75 million of Cano’s salary with the Mets on the hook for the rest. Cano is under contract at $24 million annually through 2023, so he is expected to rejoin New York in spring training 2022.

Saturday’s game between No. 22 Texas and Kansas has been postponed until Saturday, Dec. 12 due to Kansas’ inability to meet the Big 12’s minimum player standards at a certain position due to COVID-19. Kansas did not reveal which position group is below the minimum threshold but acknowledged in a statement that the issues are due to “a combination of injuries and contact tracing.” The Kansas football program has seen five positives from 825 COVID-19 tests performed since Nov. 8, according to the school. The postponed game means that both Kansas and Texas will each have two Saturdays between games as both programs were coming off bye weeks. For Texas, that’s particularly bad since the Longhorns were facing a quick turnaround before hosting No. 17 Iowa State in a critical league game next Friday.

Retired undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. responded to YouTube star Logan Paul’s callout on Twitter on Wednesday. He said: “These YouTube girls better find some Barbie dolls to play with cause I’m not the one for the kid games. 3 years ago a fighter from the UFC said my name and I had to put a muzzle on that bitch. @loganpaul can get the same treatment before I go conquer Japan again.” Paul spoke to TMZ Sports on Monday and challenged Mayweather to a fight. “If I caught Floyd with one punch—one punch—I would snap this effer in half.” Mayweather is 50-0 lifetime with 27 knockouts and 15 major world titles. His last victory was a 10th-round TKO win over former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor. He announced Monday that he will be taking part in a MMA event entitled “MEGA 2021″ at the Tokyo Dome on Feb. 28. Details remain scarce regarding the opponent and nature of the bout.”
