Britney Spears scored a victory in court Wednesday that might be the first step in ending her conservatorship. She cried as she told the  Judge she’s “extremely scared” of her father, Jamie Spears, and accused him of “conservatorship abuse.” The judge allowed her to keep her chosen lawyer (former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart), to represent her moving forward. She has been unable to choose her own lawyer since the conservatorship’s inception in 2008 — which is why Wednesday’s ruling is a big deal. It’s expected Rosengart’s first order of business once officially instated will be trying to oust Jamie Spears. “I’m here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse,” Britney said over the phone, “this conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life.”

Actor JERRY O’CONNELL From “Kangaroo Jack” to “Piranha 3D”, I there anything he can’t do. Just when you thought Jerry couldn’t give us any more…he has now been announced as the first male host on “The Talk”!!!  He’s taking over for SHARON OSBOURNE, who was let go in March. The announcement was made on yesterday’s show.

In the height of the Tiger King explosion last year, Amazon and Peacock both announced drama series to cash in on the thing. In Amazon’s project, Nicolas Cage signed on as star and executive producer. But as I have been saying its gonna take too long. And now it has all been scrapped. “They felt at one point that it was lightning in a bottle,” he added, “but that point has since faded into the distance and it’s no longer relevant.”

Speaking of Joe Exotic he might actually get out a of prison a bit earlier. The federal appeals court in the ‘Tiger King’ star’s case just upheld his conviction for murder-for-hire, but his 22-year sentence has been vacated, and he’ll be resentenced. It was determined the U.S. District Court for the Western District in Oklahoma City made a technical error by not grouping the 2 murder-for-hire convictions at his sentencing. The case is getting sent back to the lower court … where he’ll likely receive a shorter sentence now. BUT … even after the grouping error is corrected, he’s looking at a sentence in the range of 17-21 years. Joe was convicted of murder-for-hire after all.

Disney+ has renewed Loki for a second season. The info was dropped mid-way through the end credits for Loki’s Season 1 finale, with a case file branded with the stamp: “Loki will return in season 2.” No further details were provided. Loki was the third Marvel Studios series to roll out on Disney+ this year — following WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier — but it’s the first one to score a formal Season 2 renewal.

The FOO FIGHTERS canceled their Saturday show at the Forum in L.A. because of a, quote, “confirmed COVID-19 case within the Foo Fighters organization.”

MTV is bringing back “Cribs” on August 11th. And the new season already has a massive lineup that includes Martha Stewart, Snooki, Ryan Lochte, Rick Ross, Big Sean, JoJo Siwa, Kathy Griffin, Scott Disick, and Ashlee Simpson. “MTV Cribs” originally debuted more than 20 years ago.  In the original run, there were 113 episodes over 19 seasons.

The next Jackass film will be called Jackass Forever. Jackass Forever, hitting theaters on October 22nd, will be the last film in the franchise. No Bam Margera, who has been allegedly dealing with some serious drug and alcohol issues.  Jackass director Jeff Tremaine also filed a restraining order against Margera earlier this year.  Margera reportedly threatened the lives of Tremaine’s kids if he wouldn’t fork over money.

Who would’ve guessed a fitness company pays out the MOST in artist royalties?  Not me.  But it’s true.  PELOTON pays artists more per stream than any popular music service. Based on a 2019 report, Peloton pays artists around three cents per stream.  Whereas Spotify pays about one-third of a cent, Apple Music pays about two-thirds of a cent, and YouTube pays less than one-fifth of a cent. Even though the pay-out is the best, Peloton is not the most profitable streaming service for artists.   More than half of global streams are done on YouTube and Spotify brings in about half of the global streaming revenue . . . Peloton accounts for 0.07%. In the bigger picture, Peloton’s contribution to music isn’t THAT much, but it is interesting that they pay artists the most per stream.

There’s a new game coming out this fall called “Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl”.  It’s a fighting game that’s basically Nintendo’s “Super Smash Brothers”, but with Nickelodeon characters. They include SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy from “SpongeBob SquarePants”, some “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, Reptar from “Rugrats”, Powdered Toast Man from “Ren & Stimpy”, and Helga from “Hey Arnold!”.

Things We All Love That Were Accidents

The Incredible Hulk-was originally supposed to be grey so he wouldn’t be part of any ethnic group. During the first few issues, however, the colorist had trouble with the inking (so did the Marvel printers) and The Hulk turned out to be green.

Beam me up– One of the Star Trek franchise’s most iconic elements was created by simple special effects to save money. Having the crew exit the Enterprise in different vehicles and spaceships would have been too costly to film all the time.

Jason Voorhees– the iconic villain of the Friday the 13th films was given a hockey mask simply because the makeup crew was too lazy to constantly apply the fictional character’s makeup for every scene.

Ms. Pac-Man-One of the most popular video games ever created was the result of two MIT dropouts who reverse-engineered Pac-Man in 1982. Midway liked it so much, they bought it and put it to market.

The Playstation– was originally a Nintendo add-on-In 1991, Sony launched a new console that was created alongside Nintendo and was intended to be a SNES add-on with a built-in CD-ROM drive. Nintendo broke its deal with Sony only a day later and Playstation went its own way, unintentionally creating the most iconic rivalry in the gaming industry.

Cheat codes– aren’t much of a thing these days. But in the 1980s and 90s, it essentially turned you into a god. The famous code, “Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start,” in “Gradius” for Konami was created because one of the creators couldn’t beat his own game. He created the code and forgot to delete it, paving the way to generations of cheat code power-ups.

Lara Croft’s bust is accidentally too busty– An artist in charge of editing Lara Croft’s dimensions in the original “Tomb Raider” game accidentally typed in 150% for bust size, instead of the intended 50% increase.

And here’s one FOOD related but I had to share…

Corn Flakes -was invented to prevent people from masturbating-The Kellogg brothers thought a good diet was the key to a healthy, pure, and sex-less lifestyle (including masturbation). The Kelloggs created flaked grain breakfast cereals (Corn Flakes) as an anti-masturbatory meal to be taken every morning. They thought meat and certain flavorful foods caused people to want to masturbate…

Last night in Milwaukee, the Bucks evened things up against the Suns thanks to a combined 66 points between Giannis and Khris Middleton.  Giannis made an incredible block at the end of the game to seal the deal for the Bucks.  Game 5 will be on Saturday at 8PM in Phoenix.

The wife of Dwayne Haskins faces a domestic violence charge stemming from an alleged assault involving the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback that occurred in a Las Vegas hotel room earlier this month. Kalabrya Haskins faces a felony charge of battery and domestic violence resulting in bodily harm stemming from the alleged altercation on July 3 at The Cosmopolitan.  She is accused of punching Haskins in the mouth, and other injuries Haskins reportedly suffered were “substantial in nature.” He had a split upper lip and a missing tooth, and he suffered other injuries to his mouth that would require dental work to repair his teeth. The woman told police that the pair married in March and were in Vegas to celebrate with friends and renew their vows. At some point in the evening, there was an argument that escalated and she punched Haskins in the mouth.

Free-agent cornerback Richard Sherman has been arrested for “burglary domestic violence.” Sherman was denied bail. Police said a 911 call was placed from a residence at 2 a.m. and the individual said an adult male family member who did not live there was trying to get into the home.  When cops arrived, they discovered it was Sherman. He reportedly fought with the police but was eventually apprehended with the assistance from the K-9 unit. He was checked at a local hospital, and once he was medically cleared, he was taken to jail. His wife said: “He didn’t harm anybody. My kids were not harmed in the incident. He’s a good person and this is not his character. We’re doing all right, just trying to get him out. I want people to know no one was injured.”  There was also a hit-and-run involving a car registered to Sherman that the police are looking into as well.

Wizards star Bradley Beal has entered the health and safety protocols at Team USA Camp. With Beal in protocols, his return to play status is up in the air. The three-time NBA All-Star is one of 12 NBA players playing with Team USA. In the United States 108-80 exhibition win over Argentina on Tuesday, Beal and Durant led the way with 17 points respectively.  During the regular season, Beal averaged 31.3 points per game and led the Wizards to the NBA playoffs. The Summer Olympics is set to begin on Friday, July 23 and will end on Aug. 8.

On Wednesday, the WNBA All-Star Game returned for the first time in two years with a new Olympics-influenced setup. When the final buzzer sounded, fans were certainly not disappointed. Team WNBA defeated Team USA, 93-85. The game pitted the 12 selections for Team USA that will be headed to Tokyo for the Olympics against the remaining WNBA All-Stars, and it was tightly-contested throughout. Team WNBA held a 44-43 lead at halftime, while the game was tied heading into the fourth quarter. Mercury center Brittney Griner was the leading scorer for Team USA, finishing with 17 points.  This year’s All-Star Game was the first time the WNBA has held the event in the same year as the Olympics, and was anticipated to be the most competitive in the league’s 25-year history. Several players on Team WNBA have spoken out against the selection process for the Olympics rosters, adding another layer that this All-Star Game would be taken more seriously than those in previous years.

If you want New York Giants star Saquon Barkley to endorse your product, you better be prepared to pay out in crypto. The 2018 Pro Bowler announced Wednesday he’s planning to have his endorsement money converted to Bitcoin moving forward. In September 2019 Barkley had already inked deals with Nike, Campbell Soup Company, Toyota and Pepsi, among others.  Throughout the 2020 NFL season, he was featured alongside Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield in a Hulu ad. Barkley’s announcement comes as more athletes are requesting to be compensated in cryptocurrency. Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Trevor Lawrence had his $24.1 million signing bonus placed into an account for the crypto app Blockfolio.

More people in America watched Sunday’s Euro 2020 match between Italy and England than the first three games of the NBA Finals. The stat is a testament to soccer’s growing popularity in the United States, more than it is a knock on the NBA. According to ESPN, the network averaged 6.5 viewers for the Euro 2020 Final. It was nearly two million more viewers than ESPN’s previous high for a Euro Final, which came in 2012, Spain vs Italy. Another 2.9 million tuned in Sunday on Univision, combining for a total average audience of 9.4 million people in the United States who watched the Euro 2020 Final.

In comparison, the NBA Finals, which air on ESPN’s sister network ABC have averaged 8.9 million viewers through three games, featuring the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns. Just remember, if the Euro Final aired on ABC instead of cable, the audience would have grown even more.

And finally — The NHL is expanding to 32 teams beginning with the 2021-22 season, as the Seattle Kraken will join the Pacific Division. The next step in that process is the expansion draft. If you aren’t entirely caught up, we’ve got you covered. The expansion draft will be held on July 21, 7pm in Seattle, and broadcast on ESPN2. Teams’ protected lists are due on Saturday, and those lists will be announced on Sunday. The 30 teams in the expansion draft can protect seven forwards, three defensemen and one goalie; or they can protect eight skaters and one goaltender. All first-year and second-year NHL players, and all unsigned draft picks, are exempt from the expansion draft, and won’t count toward a team’s protection total.
