TRAVIS SCOTT has officially denied that he’s responsible for the 10 deaths and hundreds of injuries that occurred at his Astroworld Festival in Houston last month. His denial came in the form of a legal response to 11 lawsuits that name him and his companies as defendants. He asks that the claims against him be dismissed. Travis is expected to do this with EVERY civil suit against him, and there are tons of them. But a motion was filed last week to combine all 275 cases that have been filed so far, since so many of them are basically the same. This would make things much more efficient, and would require just one judge to handle the whole thing.
JUSSIE SMOLLETT took the stand in his own defense yesterday, and once again denied he staged the hate crime he claimed to be a victim of in Chicago two years ago. The attackers, Abimbola and Olabingo Osundairo, testified last week that Smollett paid them $3,500 to attack him while yelling racist and anti-gay slurs. Jussie said the $3,500 was for nutrition and training advice from Abimbola. He also said he and Abimbola did drugs together and engaged in sexual acts more than once. Smollett is charged with six counts of felony disorderly conduct for allegedly making false reports to police. He could get up to three years in prison, but would more likely be sentenced to probation and community service.

There, Sal encounters surprising and unsuspecting characters who follow him along his unconventional path to power. “Yellowstone” is currently in its fourth season on cable channel Paramount Network.
Colin Farrell will be the Penguin in The Batman, which is scheduled for a March of 2022 release. He says he only has about 4 or 5 scenes and about 9 minutes on screen. But that’s enough to get his own gig. Colin has signed on to be Penguin in a spinoff show I believe shockingly to be called The Penguin It would focus rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld.
Freeform announced today that it has licensed all nine seasons of “The Office” and will begin airing the show on Jan. 1, 2022 with two marathons over the New Year’s weekend – a countdown of the 30 best episodes as determined by fans and major publications runs Saturday, Jan. 1. And on Sunday, Jan. 2 they will air a second marathon of episodes dubbed cast favorites based on interviews with the cast. “The Office” was one of Netflix’s most-watched programs when it was available for streaming, but it left Netflix at the end of 2020, and starting Jan 1. 2021 Peacock became the exclusive streaming home for the beloved comedy series. However, while Peacock is the only place you can stream “The Office,” the show has been and will continue to be airing on Comedy Central, so Freeform is not the only cable network that has licensed episodes of the series.
Fox has renewed the family-friendly competition series for a third season, set to air in 2022. Will Arnett will return as host and executive producer of the show. He said he is glad to be a part of TV’s longest-running, unscripted, Danish toy building show. Season two of Lego Masters, over the summer, averaged 4.2 million viewers across all platforms, including 1.4 million on Hulu and Fox Now. It ranked first among network entertainment programming in the summer with teen viewers and finished in the top 10 among adults 18-34 and 18-49.
Most would say Rami Malek crushed it in the role of Queen singer Freddie Mercury. He won an Oscar. If you recall Sacha Baron Cohen was originally gonna play Freddie Mercury but he left the movie saying he wanted a “warts and all” kind of dig into Queen’s history. Queen drummer Roger Taylor has no regrets about Borat actor Sacha Baron Cohen leaving the band’s bio film, Bohemian Rhapsody, saying Cohen’s portrayal of Freddie Mercury “would have been utter sh**.” Taylor said Cohen “didn’t take Freddie seriously enough”, adding, “I think he would have been utter sh**. He’s also six inches too tall. But I watched his last five films and came to the conclusion he’s not a very good actor… I thought he was an utterly brilliant subversive comedian; that’s what he’s great at.” Bohemian Rhapsody is the most successful band bio of all time, earning nearly $1 billion.

Last night on Monday Night Football…it was cold…it was windy…it was ugly. But, that didn’t stop the New England Patriots from picking up the 14-10 win against the Buffalo Bills. New England decided to attack on the ground as Mac Jones only three the ball 3 times. That’s not a mistake. It was THREE TIMES. He was 2 of 3 for 19 yards. The Patriots did run for 222 yards and even had a 64 yard touchdown. And, in reality, that’s all to talk about. Oh, and that also means that Rizz is safe and Moon is getting shot.
Tiger Woods is “seriously considering” a return to the golf course in the PNC Championship on Dec. 18. Woods plans to make an official decision after hitting balls, playing golf and evaluating the readiness of both his body and swing.
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett and Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud were announced Monday as the finalists for the Heisman Trophy. Three quarterbacks headlined the nominees during a 2021 season that lacked a clear front-runner into November and was highlighted by great defensive performances. Quarterbacks have dominated the award in recent years, winning 17 times since 2000, and taking home four of the past five trophies. Last year, Alabama’s DeVonta Smith was the first wide receiver to win the Heisman since Desmond Howard in 1991.
On Sunday, quarterback Deuce Hogan announced he was transferring from Iowa after two seasons with the program. He wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that I will be transferring from the University of Iowa. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I believe that it is in my best interest to explore new opportunities. In a Facebook post, Hogan’s mom wrote that her son is leaving the program because of a joke made by his head coach at Iowa during a press conference. “Deuce did not leave Iowa because of playing time… The head coach slandered him in a press conference. Very out of character for the coach… he was trying to be funny… unfortunately, there was no backtracking on his mistake. He has since apologized to Deuce, the team, and the media. But Deuce cannot play for him… and everyone in the facility understands why. She is referring to a November press conference when the coach was speaking on how both his starting quarterback and backup had the flu one particular week. He was asked who would start if neither could play the next game. “If it was Deuce, with all due respect to Deuce, I might’ve stayed in Iowa City.”
On Monday the 2021 Kentucky Derby-winning horse, Medina Spirit shockingly died on the track. The three-year-old horse collapsed on the track. The horse’s owner confirmed the death revealing it appears the colt suffered a heart attack just after a workout in Santa Anita Park, California. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Medina Spirit famously won the Kentucky Derby in May but it did come with some controversy. The horse tested positive for steroids following its run, and even though Medina Spirit’s legendary trainer, Bob Baffert, denied that they cheated to win, the colt could be stripped of the victory down the road pending the results of an ongoing investigation. This past Friday, it was ruled that the steroid came from an ointment, and not an injection.
Last night Illini beat Iowa on the road 87-83. Illinois is now 7-2. They next take on 11th ranked Zona on Saturday. SLU is on home court tonight as they take on Belmont at 7PM. Mizzou takes on Eastern Illinois up in Columbia at 7PM as well.
And – if you guys haven’t been paying attention….Jake Paul is scheduled to fight Tommy Fury on December 18th. Or at least….WAS scheduled to fight Tommy Fury. Just a few weeks out from the fight, Fury has a bacterial chest infection and a broken rib and was forced to drop out of the fight. He was extremely upset and posted that he wants his shot on Paul next year. However – what do we do now on December 18th? Well…now we know. It’s Paul/Woodley two. St. Louis’ own Tyron Woodley will step back into the ring against Paul for a rematch. And – he’s got a little extra incentive as well. He’s being offered an additional $500,000 bonus if he can knock out Jake Paul. The last time these two met? Paul won by split decision.
