Ozzy Osbourne has pulled out of the Power Trip festival. He posted a note on his social media Monday afternoon that said, “As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October. My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward. Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.” As for who will replacement him on the bill, Ozzy wrote, “The band that will be replacing me on Power Trip will be announced shortly. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”

Power Tripis set for the weekend October 6th in the same griounds as Coachella and Stagecoach in Indio, California. Guns n’ Roses and Iron Maiden are set for the 6th, AC/DC and Ozzy’s replacement on the 7th and Metallica and Tool on the 8th.

Dave Grohl’s memorable cameo in Bill & Ted Face the Music was originally offered to a different rock star – Eddie Van Halen.  Actor Alex Winter – aka ‘Bill S. Preston, Esquire’ – says they actually offered Eddie a cameo in all three Bill & Ted movies, but he turned the first two down. Netflix is releasing the docuseries called Quarterback, which offers an inside look at the lives of three different NFL quarterbacks: Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons (now with the Eagles) are the focus of this season. The docu-series will provide three different perspectives from three very different quarterbacks and drops this week on July 12th – LINK

Authorities in Northern Ireland are investigating after an ‘indecent image’ appeared on-screen during a showing of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Investigators say an image of “a partially undressed woman” appeared on screen for “several seconds” before it was removed. The screening was part of a summer program attended by elementary-age children.  The Waterside Theatre has apologized for the ‘unfortunate’ incident and says it’s working with law enforcement to figure out what happened – LINK

Elon Musk is a bit ticked off about Mark Zuckerberg’s new Threads platform gaining 100 million users in its first week. The Twitter boss took some low blows to Zuckerberg on Sunday. Musk tweeted, “Zuck is a cuck.” That wasn’t all. A few hours later, Musk tweeted, “I propose a literal d**k measuring contest.” We’ll see if the two titans of industry will ever face off in such a manner – LINK

Sarah Silverman is suing Meta and OpenAI for using her copyrighted works to train AI systems. Sarah’s best selling book, ‘The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption and Pee’ was cited in the lawsuits. The federal lawsuits allege that Chat GPT and LLAMA ‘ingested text’ t to train the language models without consent or compensation to authors – one of whom being Sarah Silverman. Toronto Blue Jays All-Star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the 2023 Home Run Derby at T-Mobile Park in Seattle on Monday night. With the victory, Vladimir and Vladimir Jr. are the first father-son duo to win the Derby. Guerrero Jr. just edged out Tampa Bay Rays All-Star outfielder Randy Arozarena by a score of 25-23 in the final to become the first Blue Jays player to win the event.

Larry Nassar, the former sports doctor who was convicted of sexually abusing female gymnasts, was stabbed multiple times in prison after being involved in an altercation with another inmate. The AP reported that the attack happened on Sunday in Florida’s United States Penitentiary Coleman. The outlet reports the 59-year-old sports doc suffered back and chest wounds. As of Monday, he was in stable condition. No further details surrounding the incident were released.

Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, has decided to keep a low profile after his controversial encounter with pop star Britney Spears in Las Vegas last week. After a busy month, which started with the 19-year-old French phenom getting drafted by the San Antonio Spurs at the end of June and his NBA debut during Summer League games over the weekend, Wembanyama told reporters on Monday that he wants to focus on his basketball career and avoid any distractions from the media. “In the past month, I think basketball wasn’t even 50% of my schedule. I can’t stand it. I know it’s a special moment in my life, but I’m glad it’s over … I just wanna hoop,” said Wembanyama via Tomer Azarly, as reported by Sports Illustrated.

The 2023 Major League Baseball All-Star Game is set for tonight night in Seattle’s T-Mobile Park. Yesterday, the scene was set by American League manager Dusty Baker of the Astros and National League skipper Rob Thomson of the Phillies, as they announced their starting pitchers and starting lineups.

Gerrit Cole of the Yankees will start for the AL, and he’ll oppose NL starter Zac Gallen of the Diamondbacks. Now let’s have a look at the starting lineups. The players in these lineups were chosen by fan vote, but the actual batting order is up to each league’s manager.
