Singer Anita Pointer Of The Pointer Sisters Dies At Age 74

Anita Pointer, one of four sibling singers from The Pointer Sisters, died Saturday at the age of 74. Anita’s rep tells TMZ that her death resulted from a “somewhat lengthy and heroic battle with cancer.” Anita died peacefully at home Saturday, surrounded by her family. “While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Anita, we are comforted in knowing she is now with her daughter Jada and her sisters June & Bonnie and at peace. She was the one that kept all of us close and together for so long,” her sister Ruth, brothers Aaron and Fritz, and granddaughter Roxie McKain Pointer said in the statement. The Pointer Sisters formed in the late ’60s after Anita quit her job as a secretary and formed the group with her sisters. They became one of the most popular groups in the ’70s, with iconic hit after hit. “I’m So Excited,” “Jump,” “Slow Hand,” “Fire,” “He’s So Shy,” and “Neutron Dance,” to name a few. The Pointer Sisters won three Grammys and many other awards, and they were the first African American group to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. The powerhouse group was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994. Anita Pointer’s only daughter, Jada Pointer, died in 2003 from cancer. Anita went on to raise her granddaughter Roxie McKain Pointer.

Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler accused of sexual assault of a …

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler has been linked to a lawsuit filed in California alleging that the singer was involved in the sexual assault of a minor in the 1970s. California’s legislation has waived the statute of limitations on childhood sexual abuse allegations. While Tyler isn’t specifically named, plaintiff Julia Holcomb filed suit listing 50 John Does.  It’s assumed that Tyler is one of them, as he became Holcomb’s legal guardian in 1974. Tyler also once said that he nearly “married” Holcomb even though she was 16 and he was 26. Tyler wrote in his memoir “Her parents fell in love with me, signed a paper over for me to have custody, so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of state. I took her on tour with me. With my bad self being 26 and she barely old enough to drive and sexy as hell, I just fell madly in love with her. She was a cute skinny little tomboy dressed up as Little Bo Peep. She was my heart’s desire, my partner in crimes of passion.” The suit accuses Tyler of “sexual assault, sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress”, according to ‘Rolling Stone’. The paperwork adds that even though Tyler promised to care for Holcomb he “did not meaningfully follow through on these promises and instead continued to travel with, assault and provide alcohol and drugs.” Tyler’s camp hasn’t commented on the suit.

‘Fortnite’ Will Return to iPhone in 2023, Says Epic CEO

‘Wednesday’ Season Two May Be Leaving Netflix

‘The Independent’ says Netflix hasn’t renewed ‘Wednesday’ for a second season and there may be a good reason why. After a nearly $9 billion merger between Metro Goldwyn Mayer and Amazon, ‘Wednesday’, an MGM product, could be moving to Amazon Prime. Netflix would be smart to strike a deal to keep the popular Tim Burton series; it beat ‘Stranger Things’ to score the most viewing time in a single week for an English-language series on Netflix, accumulating more than 400 million hours in one week.

‘Yellowstone’ Announces Season 5 Won’t Resume Until Summer & Fans Are Not Happy

Yellowstone fans finally got the update they’ve been waiting for, and not everyone was happy about it. The YellowstoneSeason 5 mid-season finale aired Sunday night (Jan.1), where Jamie finally made the move to “save” the ranch and take down his own father. During the mid-season finale, they dropped a teaser that announced the season would pick back up in the summer of 2023, which for some fans seems too far away. “I can’t be the only one pissed that Yellowstone doesn’t start again until the summer??? It’s halfway through the season🙃,” wrote one fan. This fan also thought the move was ridiculous, writing, “Yellowstone not back until summer!?!? What in the world! Thought it was a few weeks break.” “No more Yellowstone til this summer? You’re joking— morghanne♠️❤️‍🔥,” said another. How do you feel about the season picking back up in summer? Too far away?

Andy Cohen Grills Nick Cannon on his 12 Kids on New Year’s Eve Countdown

Bravo Host Andy Cohen asked Nick Cannon if he planned how many kids he would have live on TV! Nick appeared on CNN’s NYE show, where Andy Cohen asked him if he’d consider getting a vasectomy. Nick’s response was essentially … not anyone’s biz but mine. Andy pressed the father of 12 … “Do you want to hit 20?” Nick honestly said, “Clearly, I don’t have a plan. That should’ve been clear from the jump.” During the interview, Cohen later asked: “A vasectomy?” “Is that what you want me to get?” Cannon replied. “This is my body, my choice!” Andy Cohen covered the New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, both of whom are not drinking on camera this year. Instead, Cohen and Cooper took shots of apple cider vinegar, pickle juice, and buttermilk.
