Very sad news for fans of “MasterChef Junior”.  Ben Watkins, who was on Season Six a few years back, died on Monday.  He was only 14. Last year, Ben was diagnosed with a soft tissue tumor called Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma.  He was one of only six people in the ENTIRE WORLD who had it.  Ben had to deal with more than just cancer.  His parents died three years ago in a murder-suicide.  Ben’s grandma and uncle remembered him as “the strongest person we’ve ever known.”

Lil Wayne‘s just been hit with a federal weapons charge and could face serious prison time if convicted. The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida has charged Mr Wayne with 1 count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. He was convicted of a felony gun charge in NY back in 2009 — faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. The charge is for a December 2019 incident where federal agents searched Wayne’s plane at a Miami Airport. He was a passenger on that plane, which made a stop in Florida on its way to California. At the time … Wayne’s attorney, Howard Srebnick, had said his client was “cleared” to leave even though guns and drugs were reportedly found on the plane. It appears now the feds believe Wayne was wrongfully in possession of a weapon and ammunition. Wayne’s scheduled to appear in court next month.

After 28 years, Conan O’Brien is saying “goodnight” to late night television for a gig with HBO Max.  Beginning early next year, O’Brien will host a weekly variety series on HBO Max. In a statement, O’Brien joked: “In 1993 Johnny Carson gave me the best advice of my career: ‘As soon as possible, get to a streaming platform.’ I’m thrilled that I get to continue doing whatever the hell it is I do on HBO Max, and I look forward to a free subscription.”

It seems like a lifetime ago that DOLLY PARTON announced she was donating $1 million to coronavirus research.  That was back in April, and here we are some seven months later finding out she may have helped save us all. The money helped Moderna develop a vaccine that’s been almost 95% effective in clinical trials.  You can even find her name in the acknowledgments of the New England Journal of Medicine article. Here she is talking about it (audio) Let’s just hope we find a cure real soon.” In completely different Dolly Parton news.  “Playboy” is interested in her being on the cover again.  That’s a response to her saying she’d like to pose again after she turns 75, which is in January.  She did the cover in 1978 when she was 32.

Pfizer might have a new COVID vaccine . . . but until that becomes a reality to think of them as anything besides the Viagra people is very very hard. Like hard.  And SPIKE LEE is cementing that reputation by making a movie musical about it. It’s based on an “Esquire” article called All Rise: The Untold Story of The Guys Who Launched Viagra.  There’s no word yet if that’ll be the title of the movie. It covers the discovery and launch of Viagra, which was originally intended to be a HEART medication . . . before researchers discovered that game-changing little side effect.

“People” magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2020 is . . . MICHAEL B. JORDAN.  The issue comes out on Friday. Michael says, quote, “It’s a cool feeling.  You know, everybody always made that joke, like, ‘Mike, this is the one thing you’re probably not going to get.’  But it’s a good club to be a part of.” He adds that the women in his family are, quote, “definitely proud of this one.  When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well. “This is one that they’re definitely going to have a special place for.” Michael says that in the next 10 years, he hopes to be producing more and acting less . . . and possibly directing a little.  He adds, quote, “Hopefully a family by then, I’m going to throw that in the universe.”

As long as a woman is having a healthy pregnancy, sex isn’t a problem.  In fact, it’s generally as enjoyable as ever.  And some women will even tell you it’s BETTER. MEGHAN TRAINOR wouldn’t know.  She’s six months along, and her husband DARYL SABARA is officially CUT OFF. Meghan says, quote, “Maybe this is weird, but mentally I can’t have sex while our son is in between us.  All my pregnancy apps say it feels really good.  But all I can think about is that there’s a little boy in my belly.”

One of GEORGE CLOONEY’s friends said George once invited 14 friends over for dinner and surprised each one of them with a suitcase, which contained a MILLION DOLLARS in CASH. George has never confirmed or denied the story until now.  And it’s TRUE. In an interview with “GQ, George said that it happened in 2013, after he met his wife Amal but before they started dating.  He was single, had plenty of money, and wanted to thank the people who helped him get where he was. The friends were mostly older than him.  They’d loaned him money, let him sleep on their couches when he was broke and helped him in other ways over the past 35 years. He said, quote, “I thought, you know, without them I don’t have any of this [and] if I get hit by a bus, they’re all in the will.  So why the [heck] am I waiting to get hit by a bus?” Okay.  So how was George going to get his hands on $14 million in cash?  He did some research, and found out that there’s an “undisclosed location” in downtown L.A. that has, quote, “giant pallets of cash.” And that’s when this starts to sound like a heist movie. He rented an old beat-up van that said “Florist” on it, and drove to the place.  He got in a freight elevator, WITH the van, took it down to the vault and loaded it up with cash. He only told his assistant and a couple of security guys.  George said they were SOILING THEIR SHORTS over the plan.  But he pulled it off without a hitch. George divided the loot into 14 packs, and they weren’t as heavy as you’d think.  He didn’t talk about how he handled the taxes . . . but the friend who first told the story said that George told them he’d covered that beforehand. Now I’m curious . . . how much does $1 million in cash weigh? If we assume all the bills were $100s, each one weighs one gram, and there are about 454 grams in one pound.  So, $1 million would be 10,000 $100 bills, which would be roughly 22 pounds.

The card game “Uno” has been around for a long time.  In fact, next year it’s celebrating its 50th anniversary.  And now, Hollywood is turning it into a “reality game show.” There isn’t a network yet, or specifics on how the gameplay will be adapted.  All they’ve said is this:  The show will feature four teams who will face off to become the ultimate “Uno” champion. It’ll offer a, quote, “supersized Uno experience, that also incorporates audience participation, over-the-top physical challenges and trivia, as well as other creative elements.”

I got the first trailer for the Tom and Jerry movie. Its a mix of live action and the classic animation, where Tom and Jerry’s new adventure forces them to work together to save the day.  (AUDIO)Tom & Jerry The Movie stars Chloe Mortez, Ken Jeong, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney and Colin Jost.  Initially set for a December 23 release date this year, the film has been pushed back to March 5, 2021.

Rememer the KABARAGOYA spelling be kid? (AUDIO)On Wheel of Fortune a contestant was thrilled when he figured out the answer to the puzzle “Declaring Victory.”  After finding out there was a “Y,” he threw his hands in the air and said, “I’m declaring victory!” . . . which was against the rules, so the next contestant won.  You can’t add words to a puzzle

ALEC BALDWIN and KELSEY GRAMMER are doing a show together soon. Its a sitcom with no working title about “three guys who were roommates in their 20s until their egos drove them apart, and who reunite decades later for one more run at the lives they’ve always wanted.” It’s unclear who the third guy will be . . . but the show is being developed by Chris Lloyd, who co-created “Modern Family”.  The show will air on ABC, and is set to premiere NEXT fall.

“The Bachelor” is entering its 25th season . . . and it’s been surprisingly steady in the ratings for most of its run.  Which always has me wondering:  Who’s watching this show?  Well, here’s some data on that . . .According to a new survey, the show’s main fanbase is women, which isn’t shocking.  77% are female, 23% are male.  And three quarters of the viewers are WHITE.  About 12% are Hispanic, and 7% are Black. It’s possible that those demographics shift a bit this season, when the show will feature Matt James, who is black. Interestingly, most men who watch “The Bachelor” are UNDER the age of 45 . . . while most of the women who watch it are 45 and OLDER.  In fact, 26% of the women who watch it are older than 65.

The Stantennial celebration planned at Busch Stadium will not go on as planned Saturday, but fans of ‘The Man’ will still have a chance to celebrate.

Saturday would have been Stan Musial’s 100th birthday. Organizers planned a socially distant event inside Busch Stadium that would have led fans on a journey through Musial’s career, but with a recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the event was scrapped. In its place, organizers are planning a drive-by birthday party for the Cardinals legend. Members of the Musial family will be outside the stadium at the Musial statue, and fans are invited to drive by to share their well-wishes. Fans can also bring a card to be dropped off in a special box placed along the route. The celebration will also include Fredbird and harmonica players, a nod to Musial’s tradition of entertaining fans with his musical skills. There will also be free birthday cupcakes distributed to fans while supplies last.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Cody Bellinger underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a dislocated shoulder. The outfielder is expected to miss 10 weeks but should return in time for spring training. Bellinger suffered the injury celebrating a home run in Game 7 of the NLCS against the Braves. He continued to play in the World Series and helped the Dodgers win their first title since 1988.

Theo Epstein, who transformed the long-suffering Chicago Cubs and helped bring home a drought-busting championship in 2016, is stepping down after nine seasons as the club’s president of baseball operations. The team announced Tuesday that Epstein is leaving the organization, and general manager Jed Hoyer is being promoted to take his place. Epstein said after the season he anticipated remaining on the job for at least one more year, with his contract set to expire in 2021. He had said repeatedly he thinks executives have about a 10-year shelf life in a job, and next year would have marked a decade since he left the Boston Red Sox for Chicago.

After multiple delays, the NBA draft finally arrives Wednesday. Like everyone else in 2020, this year’s class of players has tried to make the best of their difficult circumstances. The draft is usually held in June in New York, where Adam Silver announces the first-round picks. The top players sit at tables in the front of the arena and when their names are called, put on a hat with the logo of the team that picked them and walk onto the stage for a handshake and a photo with the commissioner. This time, Silver will be announcing the picks from the ESPN campus in Bristol. Players have been shipped boxes of hats for wherever they will be watching to choose the one they need when their name is called. Minnesota has the number one pick and the Golden State Warriors have the No. 2.  The most recent mock draft has LaMelo Ball going number on overall.

The NBA has officially announced its format for the 2020-21 season, which will begin on Dec. 22 and feature 72 games for each team. The league will announce the first half of the schedule for each team during training camp in December, while the second half won’t be announced until later in the year. The schedule features a play-in tournament between the No. 7 through No. 10 seeds to determine the final two playoff spots for each conference. There was a limited play-in format during this past season within the bubble, although the teams had to be within four games to be eligible. The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in one play-in game to clinch the No. 9 seed in the West, while there was no series in the East.

Earlier this week…the Rockets offered Harden a two-year, $103 million extension in addition to the $132.9 million he’s owed over the next three seasons. However, the eight-time All-Star passed on Houston and “made it clear to ownership that he’s singularly focused on a trade to the Brooklyn Nets.”

The NFL announced yesterday that it will hold a virtual Pro Bowl in Madden NFL 21 this season in partnership with EA Sports. The league said, “EA Sports and the NFL will create a week-long series of matchups featuring celebrities, NFL legends, current players, and streamers playing as the official Pro Bowl rosters in Madden NFL 21. These matchups will culminate in an action-packed virtual Pro Bowl game played with 2021 Pro Bowl players facing off within Madden NFL 21.” The Pro Bowl Fan Vote began yesterday and will continue until Dec. 17, with voting to be held on both Madden NFL 21’s mobile and console versions and on NFL.com. From Dec. 1 to 17, voting will also take place on Twitter.

Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. and his family joined the ownership group for the Seattle Sounders, the club announced Tuesday. “Ken Griffey Jr. is a name that requires no introduction, whether in Seattle or across the sports world, and we couldn’t be more proud to welcome Ken and his family into our club.” That was a statement put out by the owner of the Sounders. “As a lifelong resident of this great city, bringing someone like Ken into Sounders FC holds a special significance to me, as he is truly a part of Seattle sports’ heart and soul.”

Wichita State head basketball coach Gregg Marshall resigned from the program on Tuesday amid allegations of verbal and physical abuse. Marshall will be paid $7.75 million over the next six years in a contract settlement.  Wichita State launched an investigation into Marshall’s conduct on Oct. 9. Marshall has been accused of numerous instances of physical and verbal abuse of players both at Wichita State and Winthrop. The allegations of abuse date back to Marshall’s time at Winthrop and start in 1998. Multiple former Winthrop players say Marshall made racist and sexist comments toward players. Others alleged he mocked a player who took prescription medication for his mental health. Winthrop players also claim Marshall put his hands on players on multiple occasions, both during practice and off the court. The alleged abuse continued at Wichita State. Former Shockers forward Shaquille Morris said he was struck twice by Marshall in a 2015 practice and added that he saw Marshall choke former assistant coach Kyle Lindsted during a practice in the 2016-17 season. Marshall denied both incidents on Oct. 13.

And finally…St Louis area native Michael Chandler is hoping to make his UFC debut in January against Tony Ferguson but isn’t interested in facing him this December at UFC 256.  “There is a 0 percent chance I’ll fight Tony Ferguson in December …And I 100 percent know he knew that because the UFC already told him that, and I’ve already said I’ll see him in January.” Ferguson had asked UFC president Dana White to book a fight with Chandler on Dec. 12 on one social media post and said in another, “Michael Chandler you Putz, Ya Asked For It.”
