After teasing 15 seconds of what seems to be a new song last week, Foo Fighters shared a longer new clip on their socials that is 25 seconds of music with the phrase “Are you thinking what I’m thinking / Are you feeling what I’m feeling / This is happening now” shown on screen followed by the band’s logo.

  • This would be the Foos’ first new material since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkinsin March of 2022. They certainly have enough live shows on the books for this year to support any new music — a mix of 22 headlining shows and festival appearances from late May through early October. And they still haven’t announced a live replacement for Hawkins.

Billy Corgan has a massive 33-song Smashing Pumpkins album, Atum, due out on May 5th. But that’s not the only huge music project on his plate. He tells Rolling Stone that he’s been working on a box set around the band Zwan, the group that he and Jimmy Chamberlin started after the Pumpkins split up in 2000. The group only released one album, 2003’s Mary Star of the Sea, which is not on streaming and is out print. Corgan says the Zwan box set has 65 unreleased tracks. He hasn’t shared when the Zwan box set might be released.

Primus were joined by Tool members Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor at a benefit performance at The Belasco in Los Angeles on Monday night. They did Tool’s “Ænema,” plus a cover of Led Zeppelin‘s “Moby Dick” that included a drum battle between Carey and Primus’ Tim Alexander.

Queens of the Stone Age have pulled out of Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida next month. They cited “unforeseen circumstances” for canceling their performance. They’ve been replaced by The Cult.

Rancid will release their first album in six years, Tomorrow Never Comes, on June 2nd.

This Saturday is Record Store Day. Releases include:

  • The Cure Show (2023 Remaster)
  • Duran Duran Carnival Rio!
  • Motley Crue Helter Skelter – 12-inch picture disc
  • Nas Made You Look: God’s Son Live 2002
  • Pearl Jam Give Way
  • Run-DMC Tougher Than Leather (reissue)
  • Taylor Swift folklore: the long pond studio sessions
  • U2 “Two Hearts Beat as One”/”Sunday Bloody Sunday” War & Surrender Mixes
  • Van Halen Live: Right Here, Right Now
  • Scott Weiland 12 Bar Blues deluxe vinyl reissue

TV/MOVIES:

Anyone who remembers Charlie Sheen’s infamous meltdown a little over a decade ago will be shocked to hear this:  But he’s going to be working with the creator of “Two and a Half Men”,  Chuck Lorre again. And if you recall, the two of them had a massive falling out when Charlie went on his “WINNING” streak. It led to Chuck firing him and replacing him with Ashton Kutcher and on the season finale in 2015, Chuck ended the series by having Charlie’s character return . . . played by a stand-in . . . only to be killed by a falling piano. So anyway, after all this chaos, Charlie is joining the cast of Chuck’s Max comedy “How to Be a Bookie”, starring comedian Sebastian Maniscalco.  At this point, it’s just a recurring role.

Yellowstone is set to end after Season 5 amid disputes with Kevin Costner. The New York Post reports that sources say the issue lies between Kevin Costner and creator Taylor Sheridan over the actor’s desire for a lighter workload on the series to pursue other projects.  A source is quoted saying, “Hopefully, Kevin will return for the remaining episodes if everyone works together, but it looks like ‘Yellowstone’ will end after this season.”

  • The first half of season 5 finished airing in January, with the second half expected later this year. Yellowstonepremiered in 2018 and has become one of the most-watched shows on TV, spawning multiple spin-offs, including the prequels 1883, starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill, and 1923, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Comedian Ali Wong and SNL Alum, Bill Hader are dating AGAIN. People Magazine confirms the two have reconnected after briefly dating in the fall. In April 2022, a representative for Wong confirmed to PEOPLE that the Hard Knock Wife standup and husband Justin Hakuta were divorcing after eight years of marriage. At the time, a source called the split “amicable” and said the pair, who share daughters Mari, 7, and Nikki, 5, “will continue to co-parent lovingly.”

Did you know that Netflix is still sending out DVDs in envelopes to customers around the country? Well, that service will finally end on September 29th as the company announced they “will send out our last red envelope” on that day. The company first started renting and selling DVDs by mail in 1997. They quickly ditched selling them and in September 1999 introduced the monthly subscription model. The company started its streaming service in 2007.

And Finally!

I got curious about what the worst songs of the 1990s could be so I dug up this old Rolling Stone Magazine’s List of the top five WORST SONGS of the 1990s:

  1. Aqua ‘Barbie Girl’
  2. Los Del Rio ‘Macarena’
  3. Billy Ray Cyrus ‘Achy Breaky Heart’
  4. Vanilla Ice ‘Ice Ice Baby’
  5. Chumbawamba ‘Tubthumping’

CRAPPY BIRTHDAYS

Maria Sharapova is 36. Russian tennis star. She’s gotten in trouble for wearing really short skirts and grunting loudly on the tennis court. One of her grunts was measured at 101.2 decibels . . . which is louder than a LAWNMOWER.

Comedian Ali Wong is 41. Amy on the Netflix road-rage drama “Beef”. You’d also know her as Doris on “American Housewife”.

Hayden Christensen is 42. Anakin Skywalker in the “Star Wars” prequels.
