Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore the third chapter in the “Harry Potter” spinoff series, rang $43 million in its domestic box office debut. Not nearly as big as the previous films. Father Stu, that true story of a former boxer who becomes a priest. Mark Wahlberg, who stars in the film with Mel Gibson, produced it and used his own money when COVID-19 tacked on extra costs to production. Father Stu flopped only earning $5 million over the holiday weekend. Overall the film earned $8 million since opening on Wednesday. Not the numbers they were expecting. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 landed in the No. 2 spot earning $30 million. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum’s The Lost City took third place for the second weekend in a row.

The Batman starts streaming on HBO Max today and will then air on HBO Saturday, April 23rd. The film has grossed $750 million worldwide.

LIZ SHERIDAN, who played Jerry’s mom on “Seinfeld”, died Friday.  She was 93 years old.  ESTELLE HARRIS, who played George Costanza’s mother, died just two weeks ago. Liz was the only recurring character on the show to appear in every season, and she was on the first and the last episodes.  She also played the nosey neighbor Mrs. Ochmonek on the ’80s sitcom “ALF”. And when she was just starting out in showbiz in the ’50s, she used to get it on with JAMES DEAN.  She even wrote a book about it called “Dizzy & Jimmy: My Life with James Dean: A Love Story” (LINK)

TOM HANKS was in Cleveland Friday to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the GUARDIANS’ home opener against the GIANTS.  But he didn’t show up alone . . . he brought a special guest . . . Wilson from “Cast Away”. Yes, the volleyball.  Wilson even had the Guardians’ “C” logo on one side for the occasion.  He also appeared to be remote-controlled because he rolled in different directions and was able to stop on command. Tom threw the first pitch to Larry Doby Jr.  He’s the son of the late LARRY DOBY, a Cleveland Indians legend who was the first African American to play in the American League. This is the Guardians’ first season since they changed their name from the Indians.  Tom’s been a fan of Cleveland baseball since ’77 and if you remember, he narrated their name change announcement last summer. Unfortunately, the home opener didn’t go well for the Guardians.  They lost 4 to 1 (LINK)

Jack in the Box came out with a new shake for a limited time called Pineapple Express.  SETH ROGEN made it clear it has nothing to do with the movie of the same name. Seth said, quote, “We had nothing to do with this and weren’t asked if we wanted our film associated with this.  And obviously if we did a tie in, it would have to be to promote those bizarre [effing] diarrhea inducing taco things they sell.” Jack in the Box is offering the shake for $4.20 on 4/20 . . . you know, the pot smoker’s holiday?  So it’s obvious they’re trying to associate it with the movie. For those curious, the shake is vanilla mixed with pineapple syrup.  It’s topped with whipped cream and a cherry on top (LINK)

Jennifer Aniston says she privately battled with sleep anxiety, insomnia, and sleepwalking, making bedtime more of a chore than relief at the end of a long day. It started in her 30’s she said.  She would just watch the clock and the more I worry about it, the harder it is to fall asleep. She even was a sleep walker setting off alarms in her house. She got help from a doctor, something she “absolutely recommends people do,” and that’s why she joined in on a new campaign, Seize the Night and Day, where people can find news and advice for dealing with their own sleep issues.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has just joined the cast of Peacock’s new drama series called Poker Face. No details yet on what the drama series will be about. Recently, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has also signed on to play Johnny Carson in the new bio series called King of Late Night

PSY released the song “Gangnam Style” in 2012.  And if you believe in destiny, then his next big hit might just drop this year. His new album is called “Psy 9th”, and it comes out next week on the 29th.  And here’s where it gets interesting:  Psy hyped its release with a video from 2013 . . . where he predicted he’d be dropping his next banger in 2022. He said, quote, “I know a lot of you have high expectations for my next hit song.  To be honest, I produced ‘Champion’ in 2002, and it took me exactly 10 years to produce a song that is more sensational with the release of ‘Gangnam Style’ in 2012 . . . “I guess what I’m trying to say is, perhaps the next time you’ll meet a song like ‘Gangnam Style’ will be in 2022.” (LINK)

The Library of Congress is preserving two of Classic Rock’s biggest anthems. Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” have been chosen to be archived in the National Recording Registry. Every year, the Library of Congress chooses 25 “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” pieces of audio to chronicle.  Other 2022 selections of note include “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole, “Reach Out, I’ll Be There” by The Four Tops, and the call of Hank Aaron’s record-breaking 715th home run from 1974.

Welp – the Blues continued their win streak in a big way over the weekend.  On Saturday – the team beat the Wild 6-5 in overtime.  That clinched them a playoff spot and continued their win streak to 7 games.  Then, yesterday, in Nashville, the Blues came out in the second with the game tied up at 1 with Brayden Schenn scoring for the Blues.  Then – the second period started.  We say goals from Vladimir Tarasenko, Calle Rosen, Jordan Kyrou, Rosen again, Nathan Walker, Schenn again and Kyrou again.  Yes.  SEVEN goals in the 2nd perioid.  SEVEN.  Final score of the game?  8-3.  Up next for the Blues – a game against the Bruins at Enterprise Center.  Puck drops at 7PM.

How are thing looking around the league?  In the Central the Avalanche are way ahead with 116 points. The Blues are in 2nd with 102 and the Wild right behind with 101.  In the Pacific, it’s the Flames, Oilers, and Kings.  The West Wild Card currently has the Stars and Preds.  In the East, the Metro has the Hurricanes, Rangers, and Penguins.  The Atlantaic has the Panthers, Leafs, and Lightning.  The Wild Card battle has the Bruins and Capitals.

The Cards split with Milwaukee over the weekend series.  Thursday they lost 5-1, they smashed the Brewers on Friday 10-1, picked up a 2-1 win on Saturday and then lost last night 6-5.  Albert Pujols hit his 2nd homer of the year in the 3rd.  But, that wasn’t enough.  Cardinals are off tonight but take on the Marlins on Tuesday in Miami.

The NBA playoffs started on Saturday.  The Jazz beat the Mavericks in game 1 of their series, Minnesota beat the Grizzlies.  The 76ers beat the Raptors and the Nuggets lost to the Warriors.  Yesterday – the Heat blew out the Hawks, the Celtics won on a buzzer beater from STLs hown Jayson Tatum.  The Bucks beat the Bulls and the Suns beat New Orleans.  Tonight its game 2 of the Raptors/Sixers, Jazz/Mavs, and the Nuggets Warriors.

Lots of people are still asking where we still Baker Mayfield this year.  Remember, Cleveland has Deshaun Watson and really have no need for such a high profile backup QB.  Well – we may have a better vision now…one AFC South franchise is reportedly emerging as the disgruntled QB’s top suitor. The Panthers are believed to have the “inside track” to land the former No. 1 pick over “several interested teams.” Carolina currently has two signal-callers on the roster: incumbent starter Sam Darnold and backup PJ Walker. ESPN reported in late March that Carolina was not interested in pursuing Mayfield, there appears to be a slight shift in the conversation given the lack of options available on the market.

Kyle Busch overcame rainy conditions to win at the Food City Dirty Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday for his first win of the 2022 season. It’s Busch’s 60th career win and his 18th straight season with a trip to Victory Lane. Here’s a look at the final Top 5 results:
