DUSTIN “SCREECH” DIAMOND from “Saved by the Bell” was hospitalized in Florida over the weekend after feeling pain all over his body.  And TMZ says he might be battling cancer. There’s a history of cancer in his family, so he’s undergoing tests. After burning bridges with most of the other cast members, Dustin was NOT asked back for the “Saved by the Bell” reunion show on Peacock.  They explained his absence by saying he’s an astronaut living on the International Space Station.

BRUCE WILLIS was asked to put a mask on at a Los Angeles Rite Aid on Monday, but he refused to let his freedom DIE HARD.  Even though he had a bandana around his neck that he could have easily pulled up over his face, he opted not to. He left the store without buying anything.   But he issued a statement yesterday calling it an “error in judgment.”  He added, quote, “Be safe out there everyone and let’s continue to mask up.”

Things aren’t going well for JIMMY FALLON and “The Tonight Show”.  Monday night’s episode drew just 947,000 viewers, which is the smallest audience EVER for a new episode in the show’s history. Meanwhile, STEPHEN COLBERT had 2.03 million viewers tune in for “The Late Show” . . . and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” attracted 1.67 million total viewers. Fallon has seen his show lag well behind Colbert and Kimmel for a while now, but NBC isn’t concerned . . . they just extended Fallon’s contract in November.

NICOLE KIDMAN and JAVIER BARDEM are in talks to star in a movie about LUCILLE BALL and DESI ARNAZ. It’s kind of hard to argue with Nicole Kidman in ANY role . . . but there are people who think DEBRA MESSING could do it better.  And she apparently agrees. People started Tweeting about what a perfect fit Debra would be for the part.  Even VALERIE BERTINELLI said she was ROBBED. One person suggested that Debra must have a scheduling conflict, and she replied, quote, “Oh no, I’m available.” Someone else reminded Debra that she once said she wouldn’t play Lucy because she’s “untouchable.”  And Debra replied, quote, “Ummmmmm, I changed my mind.” She’s also been responding with heart emojis to people who say she should get the part.

BRENDAN FRASER might be looking to score his first Oscar nomination.  He’s been cast to play a 600-pound middle-aged man in Darren Aronofsky’s next movie, “The Whale”, which is based on an Off-Broadway play about Charlie, as he tries to reconnect with his teenage daughter.  They were estranged when he abandoned his family for his gay lover, who later died.  Charlie has since turned to compulsive eating out of grief.

Deadpool will be a part of the MCU. A lot of questions have surrounded how the Marvel Cinematic Universe would embrace other Marvel characters whose movie rights were owned by 20th Century Fox. Since Disney purchased the movie company, rumors have been flying about how the outlying characters might be brought into the MCU money machine. in an interview, Marvel boss Kevin Feige said Deadpool would have a part in this. And it will be rated R They are working on a script right now along with Ryan Reynolds the star. Filming will be next year at the soonest.

I mentioned yesterday all the movies for the first part of the year getting moved back…It looks like the Bond movie  No Time to Die is bound to move from Easter weekend of April 2 to some time in the fall, as the world waits for this pandemic to come under control. That’s the rumor. The UK, is a key market in No Time to Die‘s rollout, and they’re facing a similar situation as the U.S.:  No definite release date has been set yet.

The movie industry needs a big hit. Everyone in the business is hurting. Big ideas are needed. So it makes sense  that a movie about the Rubik’s cube is in development. If you’re still interested, here’s what I know: It will explain how Professor Erno Rubik’s puzzle toy became a cultural icon in the 80s. The same production company is also working on a game show centered around the Rubik’s cube.

Musical moments we’re looking forward to in 2021

Remember how 2020 was going to be a huge year for concerts then not so much?  To the tune of $30 billion in losses by some estimates. With vaccine in hand things may be looking up?   Dr. Anthony Fauci says stages will be open by fall if the vaccination roll-out goes as planned. Obviously with safety measures in place. So what are we’re looking forward to musically in the new year. Among the most highly anticipated are:

Foo Fighters had to scratch most of their 25th anniversary plans last year, but the group did record its 10th studio album, “Medicine at Night,” which Dave Grohl describes as a “really up, fun record…filled with anthemic, huge, sing-along rock songs.” Two tracks, “Shame Shame” and “No Son of Mine,” are already out, and the rest is slated for Feb. 5.

The pandemic has shifted the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction timeline, with nominees expected to be revealed during January-February and the ceremony for November — hopefully in person this year in Cleveland after last year’s was relegated to HBO only.

— There’s also intrigue about the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, switched from Jan. 31 to March 21 but still planned to be virtual, reportedly with performances from venues around the Los Angeles area.

Adele Ed Sheeran Miley Cyrus doing Metallica Chevelle…The Pretty Reckless Rob Zombie Evanescence Halestrom, Royal Blood, Megadeth, Mastodon, Muse, the Offspring, Pop Evil and Alter Bridge. Guns N’ Roses.Journey Styx is finishing work on its follow-up to 2017 1/4 u2032s “The Mission”…Lindsey Buckingham The Doobie Brothers Alice Cooper  OzzyOsbourne  Wolfgang Van Halen, “Rocketman” will get a documentary sequel via Netflix. Helmed by longtime guitarist Davey Johnstone and reportedly titled “The Pillars of Hercules,” it will focus on John’s tours from the ’70s, including footage of John Lennon’s 1974 guest spot during a Madison Square Garden show.

Violet Grohl is the 14 year old daughter of Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl. And she has performed with the band more than once BUT the game changer now is she full on wants to get in the business. Mr. Grohl is fully supporting it. He asked her the “sound” she was going for and she said the “somewhere within that shoe gazing thing” and “I need a new guitar pedal”

Speaking of him…Remember 10-Year-Old Nandi Bushell?  She’s the girl who’s been drum-battling Dave Grohl.  Well, she just upped the ante by covering Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” . . . and she played all the instruments.  She did it by using a loop box to first record . . . without stopping . . . the drums, bass, and two guitar parts, then used Thor’s hammer to hit a sampler to trigger Robert Plant’s intro screams.  Yeah, the kid has talent

Chad Johnson was able to avoid injury during his NFL career, and he says it was because he ate McDonald’s instead of healthy food.  Here he is, playfully arguing with Brandon Marshall.  He adds, quote, “All this science is what’s killing everybody.”  (Here’s a heavily bleeped clip from the loosely censored video.)

The Seattle Seahawks fired offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer on Tuesday following a season in which the team set several offensive records but coach Pete Carroll had clear issues with how the offense operated.

Seattle announced the move, citing ”philosophical differences.” The Seahawks had the highest-scoring team in franchise history, Russell Wilson threw a career-high 40 touchdowns in the regular season, and wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett both set club records for receiving.

Still, the Seahawks regressed offensively in the second half of the season, and Wilson and Carroll both made comments following Seattle’s 30-20 playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams that indicated concerns with the lack of adjustments by the offense late in the season. Schottenheimer, 47, completed his third season with the Seahawks after previously serving as the offensive coordinator of the New York Jets and St. Louis Rams.

Sharks forward Evander Kane filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy Saturday, according to a petition in federal bankruptcy court in San Jose, California, acquired by The Athletic.

According to the filing obtained by The Athletic,, Kane is nearly $27 million in debt and faces six active lawsuits, court actions and administrative proceedings with lending agencies.

The 29-year-old Kane signed a seven-year, $49 million deal with the Sharks two years ago. The filing noted that Kane may not play this season “because of health concerns given the recent birth of his first child.” However, the Sharks’ opt out date was Dec. 24, and Kane has been participating in training camp. San Jose would be able to carry over the contract until the next season

According to capfriendly.com, Kane has made nearly $53 million in his career. On the filing, Kane listed liabilities at $26.8 million with assets of $10.2 million. While The Athletic notes that the sources of Kane’s losses are not clear, the petition indicates that he has lost $1.5 million in gambling over the last year. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas also settled a lawsuit against Kane for unpaid gambling bills last year.

  • Major League Baseball is preparing to play all 162 games this season despite COVID concerns.
  • Sources say Commissioner Rob Manfred told teams that the 2021 campaign would include Spring Training and a full slate of games.
  • The season is expected to start on time.
  • The league will reportedly allow fans in the stands as long as social distance protocols are in place. Last season, no spectators were allowed because of COVID. There were fans admitted at the neutral site World Series in Arlington, Texas.
  • City and state mandates will determine how many people can be in the stands.

Six days of practices before the roster was cut down; two scrimmages; two off-days and here we are… GAME NIGHT. The Blues open the 2020-21 season with a 9:30 p.m. contest TONIGHT against Stan Kroenke’s Avalanche at Ball Arena (formerly Pepsi Center). After an off-day Thursday, the teams do it again here on Friday night.

That’s just one of the features to what will be another unique season in the National Hockey League. To cut down on travel, and in theory limit exposure to the coronavirus pandemic, teams are playing two-game sets against each other with rare exceptions before moving on to the next opponent. Besides all the two-game sets, the Blues do play three consecutive games against Colorado from April 20-24; and just after that, they play four consecutive games against the Minnesota Wild from April 26-May 1.

The pandemic has resulted not only in realigned divisions, but a schedule in which you play only the teams in your division. Over and over and over. For the Blues that means eight games apiece against Colorado, Anaheim, Arizona, Los Angeles, Minnesota, San Jose and Vegas. All that may seem on the surface to make it a bit boring but honestly this could really get emotions going when we really find a team to hate and we end up seeing them so much in upcoming games.
