Olivia Newton-John’s final days weren’t too pleasant.  Yesterday, her “Grease” co-star Didi Conn told “Good Morning America” that Olivia wasn’t walking anymore.  But she had full-time care, and her husband John Easterling and daughter Chloe Lattanzi were with her constantly. Didi played Frenchy in “Grease”, and she remembered Olivia as someone with a “big heart” who, quote, “cared so much for everybody.”  Olivia’s niece Totti Goldsmith told an Australian TV station that she was dealing with a lot of pain and complications from the cancer. Quote, “It wasn’t just the cancer that got her, it was other complications, being in a hospital and with a very susceptible immune system.  She got secondary infections.  She really went down in the past five, six days.” Olivia was using cannabis products for her pain, but in the end, Goldsmith said they weren’t doing the job anymore.

Fred Savage was producing and directing ABC’s reboot of “The Wonder Years” until early May, when he was FIRED because of, quote, “allegations of inappropriate conduct.” And that’s pretty much all anyone said about it . . . until now.  Several unidentified women spoke to the “Hollywood Reporter” about what went down.  Here’s what they said: Fred showed his, quote, “absolute perfect, best face” to actors and executives.  But crew members and other employees who didn’t have any power on the set often saw a darker, angrier side.  As one of the women put it, “His eyes would go dead.” They say his conduct toward women ranged from verbal harassment to the alleged assault of a former crewmember. They also claim he had an odd relationship with a much younger woman on the crew.  He would supposedly buy her gifts and talk about their future together.  At one point she even moved into a house he was renting. But he was supposedly also controlling, manipulative, and erratic, and she was afraid of him when he got angry.  For the record, this woman did NOT speak to the “Hollywood Reporter”.  These allegations come from third parties.

In the wake of his breakup with Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson is taking care of himself. Pete has been undergoing trauma therapy as of result of her ex-husband’s threatening social media post that began in the early stages of their relationship. On Friday the news hit that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson broke up. Three days later, Kanye West shared a photo of a mock New York Times cover with the headline reading “Skete Davidson Is Dead at Age 28.” In addition to Pete’s routine therapy for his mental health, the Kanye thing became a whole new area to deal with. Davidson made something of a statement over the weekend, letting his t-shirt do the talking, as he was photographed wearing a tee that read: “What… I feel like s**t.”

Well, here’s one thing House of the Dragon has in common with the original Game of Thrones: apparently, a ton of sex. Actor Matt Smith, who stars as Prince Daemon Targaryen in the HBO prequel, say he thinks there’s “slightly too much” of it all. When asked about all the sex scenes he says: “Are you representing the books, or are you diluting the books to represent the time [we’re living in]?’ And I actually think it’s your job to represent the books truthfully and honestly, as they were written.” When asked if he has his fair share of bedroom scenes, he replied, “Yeah — slightly too much, if you ask me.” The actor has said that, unlike some of his costars, he had watched the original Game of Thrones. So if he feels there’s too much sex, then maybe there is.

Over the Aug. 5-7 weekend, social media was buzzing over the new movie Prey, the 549th installment in the Predator franchise. Many wondered why 20th Century and Disney didn’t open the movie in cinemas, considering the theatrical calendar for August is notably light this year. Instead, Prey debuted directly on Hulu. On Tuesday, Disney said the film scored the No. 1 premiere on Hulu to date, including all film and TV series debuts. Additionally, it was the most watched film premiere on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories, based on hours watched in the first three days of its release. Disney did not share total hours viewed, as Netflix does. Since companies don’t report streaming viewership numbers into a central clearinghouse, there’s no third-party verification.

Kenan Thompson is set to host the 2022 Emmy Awards. The Saturday Night Live star will emcee the ceremony airing on NBC and streaming live on Peacock on Monday, Sept. 12. “Being a part of this incredible evening where we honor the best of the television community is ridiculously exciting, and to do it on NBC — my longtime network family — makes it even more special,” Thompson said in a statement. “Like all TV fans, I can’t wait to see the stars from my favorite shows.”

Lamont Dozier, part of the legendary Motown writing team of Holland-Dozier-Holland, has passed away. He was 81 years old.  Dozier is in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. He worked with the core of the Motown Sound. His lyric collaborations benefited artists like Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Temptations, and The Four Tops. Just a few of the songs Dozier helped pen  include “Baby Love, “Where Did Our Love Go,” “You Can’t Hurry Love,” “Reach Out, I’ll Be There,” “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You),” “Stop! In The Name of Love,” “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch),” and “You Keep Me Hanging On.”

Taylor Swift wants to make something very clear: her 2014 hit “Shake It Off” was “written entirely” by her and no one else. On Monday Taylor made her statement in a sworn declaration fighting the allegations of copyright infringement.  The artist was sued in 2017 by songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler who claim she copied her lyrics from their 2001 track, “Playas Gon’ Play”, performed by 3LW. In “Shake It Off,” Swift sings, “‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.” Meanwhile, “Playas Gon’ Play” features the line, “playas, they gonna play” and “haters, they gonna hate.” Taylor Swift argued that the lyric “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” are not uncommon, and said she heard them being used throughout her childhood, much like the “sayings like ‘don’t hate the playa, hate the game,’” and ‘”take a chill pill,’” she added. Swift’s attorney claimed in a motion filed in federal court that Hall and Butler were merely trying to cash in on the success of Swift’s song. Story still developing.

Garth Brooks is calling out Ticketmaster and the company’s use of dynamic pricing. Brooks suggested the ticketing giant get rid of ticket scalping instead. He had this to say about it, “That’s a tough one. Bruce Springsteen is going through it right now. We’re all watching it. Here’s the bottom line for me, and I know this is silly, but I have screamed and screamed as long as you’ve known me: just knock out scalping. That’s it. Just make it illegal. That way, the price of the ticket is the price of the ticket,” he continued. Garth Brooks wrapped up the US portion of his Stadium Tour this weekend in Houston and he’s looking to do more Vegas Residency.

Apparently, it’s all about the he said she said “I Do” … because Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst has gotten married for the 4th time. Their marriage record says Fred and wife Arles Durst got married in L.A. County … however, the date they tied the knot is unclear. The actual marriage certificate is confidential … that’s a thing in L.A., especially for celebs, but the County Clerk makes public the fact a confidential marriage certificate has been filed. The two have been an item for at least a few months … his band did a show in Pennsylvania back in May, and he brought her out to slow dance together to “Careless Whisper” … before jumping into their hit, “Nookie.” Arles has also changed her last name on Instagram to Durst — she’s got a profile description that reads, “Mrs. D.” Fred’s 3rd divorce was finalized back in 2019 from a Ukrainian make-up artist . The guy walked away with all his rights and residuals to his music secured, while having to pay off her car and ante up spousal support. Before her, Fred was married to a lovely lady Esther for 3 months … before that, he was with a lady named Rachel, with whom he has a daughter. 4th time’s the charm!

KING SCOTT!  YOU CAN REJOICE! Iggy Azalea is coming out of the retirement you had no idea she went into.  In a series of Tweets, she said, quote, “A year ago I was willing to walk away from music because I was tired of the negative energy it attracted.

But what I’ve learned is that even when I’m minding my business, y’all gonna be negative AND nosey.  So if I can’t have peace, neither can you.  I’m coming back.  Cry about it.” Last year, Iggy claimed that her 2021 album “End of an Era” would be her last.

Sports Report 1

The Colorado Rockies humbled the Cardinals with a 16-5 smashing that really never felt like a close one after the Rockies scored a dozen before the Cards got one run last night. By the end of the sixth inning, the Rockies had two players, Grichuk and Brendan Rodgers, tie their career highs with four hits. And they didn’t stop there. Colorado finished with 22 hits. Mikolas allowed as many runs in 2⅔ innings one night in Denver as he did for the entire month of June. Mikolas’ ERA grew by more than half a run, going from 2.92 when he threw his first pitch to 3.50 by the time runners he left on scored after he left the game. Cardinals will try again in Colorado tonight with a start time of 7:40.

You’re probably gonna see a video and every funny guy on twitter commenting on it but it’s pretty cool to see. An Oklahoma little leaguer got beaned in the head.  Thankfully, his helmet protected him.  And what happened next was very cool.  He noticed that the pitcher who hit him was shaken up, so he went to the mound and gave him a hug

Speaking of videos: Baseball history was made yesterday, when Pirates infielder Rodolfo Castro slid into third base, and his PHONE slid out of his back pocket onto the dirt.  An ump had to point it out to him after he stood up.  Here’s the AUDIO clip.

Serena Williams announced yesterday in an essay on Vogue.com that she’s retiring from tennis . . . most likely after the U.S. Open, which kicks off at the end of this month. She wouldn’t use the word “retirement” though . . . she said she plans to “evolve” away from the sport, to, quote, “other things that are important to me.” Quote, “I’ve been reluctant to admit to myself or anyone else that I have to move on from playing tennis.  [My husband] and I have hardly talked about it; it’s like a taboo topic. “I can’t even have this conversation with my mom and dad. It’s like it’s not real until you say it out loud.  It comes up, I get an uncomfortable lump in my throat, and I start to cry.” She added, quote, “I know that a lot of people are excited about and look forward to retiring, and I really wish I felt that way.” Serena is currently playing in the Canadian Open.  Yesterday, she won her first singles match in 14 months, to advance to the second round. Serena mentioned that her 5-year-old daughter Olympia wants a sibling, and noted that, quote, “If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor.” Serena turns 41 next month. Serena started her pro career in 1995, at the age of 14.  She’s won 73 singles titles, including 23 majors.  She has four Olympic gold medals and spent 319 weeks as the #1 player in the world. She and her sister Venus have won 14 major doubles titles. (ESPN)

Marshawn Lynch was arrested in Las Vegas. The 36-year-old former NFL running back was arrested on Tuesday (August 9) for driving under the influence in Las Vegas. The police claim that the athlete was pulled over near the Las Vegas Strip at 7:25 a.m., and was seen driving into curbs on the side of the road before the traffic stop. TMZ Sportsobtained pictures of the 2020 Shelby GT500 cops believe Lynch was driving prior to his arrest … showing the front-left wheel’s rim resting on the pavement, with no tire in sight. Lynch was taken to jail and booked for DUI. He’s also facing charges of failure/refusing to surrender proof of security, unregistered vehicle, and failure to drive in a travel lane. In the mugshot released he appears to be struggling to keep his eyes open. His court date has been set for December. Marshawn played for 12 seasons in the league, winning Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks in Feb. 2014.

Chris Sale‘s awful season just got a whole lot worse … the Boston Red Sox revealed on Tuesday he suffered a broken wrist in a bike accident over the weekend and is now done for the rest of the year. Sale — who was nursing a finger injury that he sustained after taking a line drive off his hand on July 17 — had been riding his bike on Aug. 6 when the accident happened, according to the team. The 33-year-old was diagnosed with a “right distal radius fracture” … and the Sox said he had to undergo surgery on Monday in Massachusetts to fix the issue. Sale will now miss the rest of the season, but Boston said it expects him to be ready for Spring Training next year. This year is certainly one the lefty pitcher would love to forget — after starting the season on the injured list with a ribcage injury, he had an infamous meltdown in a rehab assignment, and then broke his finger just a few days later.

Aaron Rodgers recently credited an experience with a psychedelic drug for fueling two of the best seasons of his career. After he made that revelation, many wondered whether he was admitting to violating NFL rules. He was not. Rodgers recently told the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast” that he had a “magical experience” with ayahuasca, which is a plant that contains the hallucinogenic drug DMT. He said he took the psychedelic during the offseason before both of his most recent MVP campaigns in 2020 and 2021. Rodgers believes the experiences helped him in all facets of life, including on the field. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Monday that ayahuasca is not on the NFL’s banned substance list. For that reason, it would not have triggered a positive result on either the substance abuse or performance-enhancing substance policies that were agreed upon by the NFL and NFL Players’ Association. It is possible that ayahuasca could be added to the banned substance list in the future, but Rodgers is safe for now. He probably did his research before he took the drug or, at the very least, before he admitted to using it. Rodgers has become a lot more open about his personal life during the latter part of his career. He even spoke about some of the issues he has had with his family in the same podcast appearance. As long as his honesty does not land him in trouble with the NFL, the Packers are probably fine with it.
