Over the weekend, Ricky Martin‘s lawyer denied all allegations of domestic abuse that the artist’s 21-year-old nephew made earlier this month. “Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges,” Martin’s lawyer said (LINK). “Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be – involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew. The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”  According to the allegations made by Martin’s nephew, after ending the relationship with his uncle, the Grammy winner didn’t handle the news well and proceeded to harass his nephew over the decision. Last week the 50-year-old singer was given a temporary restraining order in conjunction with the alleged seven-month intimate affair he had with his 21-year-old nephew. The hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow. If Martin is charged with domestic abuse with a relative, he could be looking at a nearly 50-year sentence.  A charge of sexual assault is not the only scandal he is facing right now. Martin is also dealing with a separate $3 million lawsuit from his manager Rebecca Drucker over unpaid commissions. She also claims that she saved Martin from a “potentially career-ending allegation in September 2020.”

A crew member on NBC’s “Law & Order: Organized Crime” was shot and killed on the job yesterday. 31-year-old Johnny Pizarro was on location in Brooklyn, working security and parking enforcement for the shoot. At about 5:15 in the morning, he was sitting in his car when someone threw open the door and started shooting. Pizarro was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. The shooter is apparently still at large and there’s no word yet on the motive.

Vito Corleone’s estate from “The Godfather” is going up for rent on Airbnb, but there are a lot of rules and restrictions.  First we should clarify:  The house was only used for EXTERIOR shots.  And it’s in Staten Island, New York. Unfortunately, it’s only being offered ONCE, and you have to take it for a full month, from August 1st through the 31st.  It costs $50 a night, or $1,500 for the duration. First we had Brad Pitt saying he’s on the “last leg” of his career, and now Ethan Hawke says he’s about to wind things down. In an interview, Ethan said he’s in the beginning of his last act, and that he’s made the transition from being an old YOUNG person to being a young OLD person. Quote, “I definitely find myself looking over a filmography and thinking about which ones I could’ve cut out, because I only have so much time left.  I know I only have so many movies left.”

Disney+ is ramping up its catalog of Sing-Along versions of your favorite musicals! The streaming service announced that these popular movies will be added throughout July and August. First up are the Sing-Along versions of Moana and The Little Mermaid. They will both be added THIS Friday (July 22). Also set to join the Sing-Along lineup are The Lion King (2019), The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, Beauty and the Beast (1991), Beauty and the Beast (2017), and Tangled. The Encanto Sing-Along is currently streaming on Disney+!

The Chainsmokers are going to be the first musicians to perform on the edge of space.  In 2024, a private company called World View will send them into the stratosphere, about 23 miles above Earth. To put it into perspective, space begins at about 62 miles.  The World View CEO asked them to take part in one of the first flights because his son is a fan. A World View flight costs $50,000.  Which is far less than a Jeff Bezos Blue Origin flight for $28 million.  But you’re not exactly going INTO space.  Passengers are sent in a pressurized capsule connected to balloon. 

Justin Bieber’s face seems to be working again, because he’s going back on tour.  Last month he was diagnosed with something called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which caused half his face to become paralyzed. He announced yesterday that his Justice World Tour starts up again on the 31st at a festival in Italy. No word yet on when the U.S. dates he had to postpone will be rescheduled.

The only good music being made right now is by WOMEN, according to Elton John. He says, quote, “It’s so great to see Nova Twins, Wet Leg, Let’s Eat Grandma, The Linda Lindas, Haim, and all these girls rocking out and making the best music.” What about the guys?  Elton says they’re BLOWING IT.  Well, all of them except one.  Quote, “Apart from Sam Fender, none of the boys are doing it, the girls are. It’s a breath of fresh air, because it comes from innocence and pure joy and that, for me, is what music is about.”

Nolan Neal, a contestant on both America’s Got Talent and The Voice passed away Monday. He was 41 years old. According to TMZ, his cousin Dylan Seals found him dead in his apartment in Nashville.  Cops say Neal’s roommate called them after discovering his body in a bedroom. Officers say on the desk next to Neal’s bed was a guitar pick that “appeared to contain a powder residue.” Investigators are still waiting on the full results from the singer’s autopsy. Neal appeared on season 11 of The Voice in 2016, where he competed on Team Adam Levine before his elimination in the Knockout round.

Britney Spears and her husband tied the knot in a fairy tale wedding last month and now an Us Weekly source is spilling the tea on the prenup. Spears is worth a reported $60 million, and the insider says if the couple ever divorced, Sam would receive “$1 million, per every two years” of marriage. The agreement includes a cap of $10 million after 15 years. The source added that Sam has waived claims to Britney’s music catalog and signed an NDA (a nondisclosure agreement). In other Britney news, her latest Instagram video is her in a tropical shirt in case you missed it.

Kylie Jenner is facing major backlash from social media users for boasting about her and boyfriend Travis Scott’s private jets and using hers to take short flights. The Twitter account @CelebJets posted Jenner’s plane route after she flew from Camarillo, Calif., to Van Nuys, Calif., last Tuesday, estimating that the trip would take only three minutes as opposed to a 45-minute drive. The page later clarified that the total flight time ended up being 17 minutes. While the Twitter feed normally lists the pounds of jet fuel used, the cost of fuel and the tons of CO2 emissions, it did not do so for Jenner’s jaunt. Three days after the quick flight, the reality star, 24, posted a black-and-white photo of her and Scott, 31, posing in front of their private jets. Social media users subsequently slammed Jenner across Twitter and Instagram for being a “full time climate criminal” (LINK)

Since then it’s been literally all AL wins.  National League has lost nine consecutive All-Star games and 21 of the past 25. Despite a first-inning homer by Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, and a 2 to nothing National League lead, the American League battled back to win 3 to 2.  Here’s the final out. But the Nationals went hitless after a four-hit first inning other than a single in the eighth but Cardinals reliever Ryan Helsley was the NL’s most dominant pitcher. Speaking of pitching and as needed the Cardinals went big on pitchers in the draft, which closed up last night with the final 10 rounds. Overall, 13 of the Cardinals’ 20 picks were pitchers. The Cardinals also went big on college players, with all but their last pick being from college.

Former NFL star Ricky Williams shed light on what was happening behind the scenes in the league as guys self-medicated to help diminish the pain they felt from playing football. Williams, played for the Dolphins, Saints and Ravens before calling it a career, he was also suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy multiple times for testing positive for marijuana. Check out what he’s now saying about how NFL players had to cope with pain, “I played a long time ago, and I played for a long time. So things have changed a lot when I first got into the league,” Williams said. “My rookie year, a Hall of Fame player on the team, he’s in the Hall of Fame now, invited me over to his house and he gave me the speech about how to take care of yourself in the NFL. And he pulled out some cannabis, crushed it up, split a blunt, opened it up, put the cannabis in there, took a Vicodin, crushed it up, sprinkled the Vico in there, rolled up the blunt and passed it to me. That was a vet, teaching me as a rookie, how to take care of myself in the NFL.”

The Carolina Panthers will more than likely have a fresh face at quarterback next season, and now they’ll have a fresh new look for their fans to appreciate. Carolina unveiled new alternate uniforms on Tuesday, an all-black look with black alternate helmets to match. “Sometimes guys tap into an alter ego depending on what they’re wearing,” Panthers defensive end Brian Burns said, according to Panthers.com (LINK) “Whenever a team wears all black, or black accessories, it just brings out that dog in them, the evil side. The new all-black look will be debuted on “Thursday Night Football” against the Atlanta Falcons in November. The NFL will allow teams to wear alternate uniforms during the 2022 NFL season, according to NFL.com.

Scott your a Dodgers fan right? You know plenty of em from your years in LA. Well, The sweet swings of Juan Soto and Julio Rodriguez were apparently not enough to cool down some hotheads in the stands at Monday night’s Home Run Derby — ’cause two fans got into a wild fight right in their seats!! The scrap went down in the left field bleachers at Dodger Stadium, just after Soto had won the event — and you can see in video shot by spectators, things got violent between two L.A. fans in a hurry (LINK)
