ELLEN PAGE from “Juno” and “The Umbrella Academy” and I know her more from Hard Candy came out as trans yesterday . . . and is now ELLIOT Page.  Saying “Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot.  I feel lucky to be writing this.  To be here.  To have arrived at this place in my life . . . By the way, there will be no change to Elliot’s “Umbrella Academy” character, a cisgender woman named Vanya, who uses soundwaves to send out bursts of energy. Netflix is also updating Page’s name from Ellen to Elliot Page across its platform.

Steven Spielberg got court-ordered protection from a woman he believes is threatening to murder him. Someone named Sarah Char has been harassing him for months and sending death threats. He says law enforcement told HIM she tried to purchase a gun to kill him. He claims she’s been arrested for criminal threats, harassment and stalking. Spielberg says he got a Twitter message from Char saying … “If I have to personally MURDER people for stealing my IPs‚ I WILL. Get me?” He got a temporary restraining order requiring Char to stay at least 100 yards away from him, his wife and his daughter.

FELICITY HUFFMAN has booked her first gig since her brief prison stint for the college admissions scandal. It’s an upcoming ABC sitcom inspired by Susan Savage, the real-life owner of a Triple-A baseball team called the Sacramento River Cats.  Felicity will play Susan. There’s no title yet.

“The Voice” disqualified one of its contestants, Ryan Gallagher, for “violating COVID protocols.”  He was previously selected to be on Kelly Clarkson’s team. It’s unclear what happened.  On the show, host Carson Daly just said he, quote, “had to exit the competition.”  And NBC hasn’t commented. There was a rumor that he left to take care of family members who were suffering from COVID-19, but in a social media post, Ryan said, quote, “Everybody’s fine . . . I didn’t drop out of the show.  Details are still to come, I’ll keep you posted.”

So today is Britney Spears birthday. I have some raw vocal tracks from Oops I did it again and Womanizer. This audio is from BEFORE pitch control was used for the final version we all know and love so so much. This is my birthday present to her

Justin Timberlake bought a wheelchair-accessible van for a 17-year-old with cerebral palsy.  He was moved by the story of how the teen sits outside with a sign that reads, “Honk if you’re happy”.  A GoFundMe was set up to buy the van, but it didn’t generate enough money.  Justin heard about it and jumped in to cover all the costs.

Hip-Hop just isn’t what it used to be.  First, Travis Scott teams up with McDonald’s, btw Ice T is doing Car Shield commercials, and now DRAKE has a new line of scented candles. They come in five scents:  Carby Musk, Good Thoughts, Muskoka, Sweeter Tings, and Williamsburg Sleepover. They’re all $48 except for Carby Musk, which is $80.  Why the hefty price tag?  Possibly because it actually SMELLS LIKE DRAKE. Here’s the description:  “Smooth musk fragrance is introspective as in an interpretation of your beautiful self, yet extrovertive as how you would want others to see your bold and brilliant self. “Features notes of Musk, Ambers, Cashmere, Suede, and Velvet.  Actually smells like Drake . . . it’s the personal fragrance he wears.” Unfortunately, they’re all sold out at the moment.

The FOO FIGHTERS got their own TACO. If you happen to find yourself at the Casa Vega Restaurant in Sherman Oaks, California, you can try the Foo Fighters Taco, featuring smoked brisket, barbecue sauce, Mexican cole slaw, red pickled onions, and chopped cilantro. They’re also serving the Los Luchadores Foo tequila beer cocktail, made from tequila, fresh lime juice, and Modelo Especial beer. This stuff is only going to be available for a limited time, but there’s no word when it’ll be gone. Here is a guy named Dave Grohl driving around looking for the tacos.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson got with Salt & Straw for a new holiday ice cream that’s spiked with his own brand of tequila. Dwanta’s Teremana Spiked Eggnog is silky custard with tastes of sherry, nutmeg and Johnson’s own Teremana Reposado. A pint will cost ya $13 and one dollar from every pint sold will benefit World Central Kitchen to provide worldwide food relief. There are other flavors including a chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with chocolate caramel fudge called “I Saw Mommy Kissin’ Dwanta Claus” and a cherry and brownie-dotted, raspberry-filled spruce ice cream called “Rock’n Around The Christmas Tree”.

When you think AC/DC you think what? Lightning bolt, Angus Youngs schoolboy outfit and duck walk. How about Brian Johnson’s hat. He always wears the hat. But why?   He started wearing it onstage back to before his days in AC/DC when he was a member of the U.K. group Geordie. Its not an ego/hairline thing either. His old band back in the day would play gigs in northeast England. In small clubs that cranked up the heat in the winter. With people inside it would get super hot on stage. During a break one night  his brother Maurice had, at the time, just bought a new sports car. But he also purchased a new cap. His brother asked him why his eyes were all red. He said sweat is always getting in them. Bro says try the hat. It kept the sweat away AND help the band get recognized as “hey lets go see the band with the guy with the hat.”

Two more members of the Baltimore Ravens—including one thought to be a player—tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The contest, which has been postponed multiple times over the last week, is still set for kickoff at 2:40pm today with the Ravens traveling to Pittsburgh on Tuesday. The NFL told the team the individuals were “previously identified as potential positives and there was no concern for further spread.”

The Denver Broncos activated quarterbacks Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. All three were held out of Sunday’s contest against the New Orleans Saints, though their presence on that list does not confirm any of the three contracted the coronavirus. The NFL requires all close contacts of those who test positive to go on reserve/COVID-19 list for at least five days.  The Broncos lost to the Saints 31-3 using wideout Kendall Hinton under center.

The Los Angeles Clippers are set to waive center Joakim Noah, a move that will likely mark the end of his NBA career. Noah’s agent said that the 35-year-old is “likely headed toward retirement.”  The Chicago Bulls drafted Noah with the No. 9 pick in 2007. He spent nine seasons in Chicago, earning his two All-Star nods, before stints with the New York Knicks, Memphis Grizzlies and Clippers.

Baseball Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda remains hospitalized but has been moved out of intensive care.  According to reports, Lasorda’s “condition has improved” to the point he’s been able to “conduct FaceTime calls. The Dodgers announced on Nov. 15 that the 93-year-old was in intensive care after being admitted to the hospital, but he was “resting comfortably.”

With 54-year-old Mike Tyson returning to the ring and fighting to an exhibition draw with Roy Jones Jr. on Saturday, another former boxer wants his shot at Iron Mike: Buster Douglas. That’s right: The man who shocked the world by knocking out Tyson in 1990 at the height of Iron Mike’s career wants a rematch, 30-plus years later.  Tyson might be able to make a list of fighters who want another shot at him. Former boxer Kevin McBride—who beat Iron Mike in 2005 when Tyson didn’t come back out for the seventh round and was the last opponent of Tyson’s career before his bout with Jones—also wants another go.

Vanderbilt interim head coach Todd Fitch said Sarah Fuller will serve as the team’s placekicker against Georgia. “She’ll be with us on the trip to Georgia and we’re going to put the best people out there.” Fuller told reporters Tuesday. “If she’s our best option we’ll continue with her and we’ll do the best we can for the team.” Fuller became the first woman to play for a Power 5 football program in last week’s 41-0 loss to Missouri. Her only game action was a successful squib kick at the start of the second half. The SEC named her Special Teams Player of the Week for her efforts.

The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is reportedly set to cancel the 2020 edition over COVID-19 concerns. The Sun Bowl had played every year since its inception in 1935. The Bahamas, Celebration, Fenway, Hawaii, Holiday, Motor City, Pinstripe and Redbox bowls were previously canceled because of COVID-19.  The Sun Bowl was slated for Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas. Like much of the country, Texas has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases.

The United States women’s national team announced Tuesday it had reached a settlement with U.S. Soccer regarding unequal working conditions for the USWNT.  In a statement, a USWNT spokesperson showed her satisfaction with the deal while making clear the group’s legal fight with U.S. Soccer over equal pay remains unresolved: “I believe our approach helped us reach this agreement and demonstrates the commitment of U.S. Soccer’s new leadership to find a new way forward with the USWNT. This settlement is good news for everyone and I believe will serve as a springboard for continued progress.” In March 2019, members of the USWNT player pool filed a lawsuit against U.S. Soccer arguing the federation was failing to provide compensation, treatment and working conditions that matched those offered to the men’s national team.
