It IS nice to know that the rich and the famous aren’t trying to push THEIR way in front of the vaccine line though…According to “Variety”, the Hollywood elite have been “tapping their vast resources” and “cycling through private physicians” in order to jump the line and get their shots. Not everything they’re doing is illegal, but it certainly raises ethical concerns. One Beverly Hills doctor says he’s been offered BRIBES in excess of $10,000 for people who want to jump the line. Some are taking private planes to other states where it’s easier to get the vaccine. Even managers, agents, and producers are reportedly helping clients and stars line up shots for themselves and their families. One top entertainment executive who refused to be identified said, quote, “It’s ‘The Hunger Games’ out there.”
The “Hollywood Reporter” says that a live-action “Harry Potter” TV show is in “early development” at HBO Max. Sources say they’ve talked with potential writers, and “broad ideas” have been discussed . . . but nothing has been set in motion yet. HBO Max isn’t even willing to admit that there’s a possibility. An exec said, quote, “There are no ‘Harry Potter’ series in development at the studio or on the streaming platform.”
62 year old Ellen DeGeneres is struggling in the ratings after all that bad publicity the show got and I guess she got bad too. She has 1 year left on her deal. She always said she wouldn’t do it anymore when it wasn’t fun. Ratings have slipped 8%. Kelly Clarkson’s show follows Ellen and she matched Ellen’s ratings for the first time last month. Clarkson won 3 Day Time Emmys last year. All this is pointing to Clarkson taking over her spot IF Ellen decides to kick rocks.
The upcoming “Ghostbusters” movie will feature many of the original, surviving stars. RICK MORANIS was NOT expected to be one of them . . . but it’s possible that he has a brief cameo. In a new interview, ERNIE HUDSON was asked if Rick makes an appearance . . . and he said, quote, “I think the studios probably want to hold that one. I love Rick. But yeah, I’ll let them share that.” He didn’t elaborate. The movie was originally supposed to come out LAST summer, but due to the pandemic, it’s been delayed. It’s currently set to hit theaters on November 11th.

The 20th anniversary of Monsters Inc. is coming up and I got some info on Monsters at Work that will be streaming on Disney+. The show, time-wise, starts six months after ‘Monsters, Inc.’ ended. So now it is the laugh floor. Billy Crystal and John Goodman will be back. Mr. Crystal who is 72 said they got shut down for a bit but he got a lot of voice work done at home and isolated in a studio in Burbank. He didn’t know WHEN it will come out but he promises it is real good.

The St. Louis Blues continued the trend of winning the first game of the 2 games series after they picked up a 5-4 win against the Vegas Knights last night…even if it took a little bit of a shootout. David Perron had a pair of goals and was joined in the scoring by Jaden Schwartz and Jordan Kyrou before it headed to the shootout. The two teams meet again tomorrow at 8PM
For the first time since 1960, the membership of the National Baseball Hall of Fame will remain frozen. No player on the Hall’s 2021 Baseball Writers’ Association of America ballot reached the 75% threshold needed. The results of the voting were announced by Hall of Fame president Tim Mead on MLB Network on Tuesday night. The leading vote-getter was pitcher Curt Schilling, who was named on 71.1% of the ballots, 16 votes shy of the minimum needed for selection. Schilling was followed by Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens in the voting. However, Schilling, in a lengthy letter to the Hall that he also posted to Facebook, asked to be removed from the writers’ ballot next year. “I will not participate in the final year of voting. I am requesting to be removed from the ballot. I’ll defer to the veterans committee and men whose opinions actually matter and who are in a position to actually judge a player. I don’t think I’m a hall of famer as I’ve often stated but if former players think I am then I’ll accept that with honor.”

A Tom Brady rookie card in “virtually perfect” condition was just bought at auction for $555,98. The card, auctioned by PWCC Marketplace, is a 2000 Contenders card featuring quarterback Brady in his rookie season with the New England Patriots. PWCC says the card is “what we personally believe to be the single most important modern football card ever produced.”
There’s finally some GOOD NEWS. America will never be subjected to the video footage of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft at that seedy day spa. Two years ago, Kraft was arrested as part of a prostitution sting, although he claimed he didn’t do anything illegal. He reportedly went to the spa . . . and had some work done on himself . . . but the prostitution charges were dropped. A judge ordered the destruction of the footage that allegedly shows Kraft paying for massage parlor sex. His lawyers are pleased, because they were worried that tapes of him in the nude would end up online.
12th ranked Mizzou will not be 12th ranked much longer. Last night they lost to unranked Auburn 88-82. Their next game will be Saturday against TCU. 22nd ranked SLU also probably won’t be in the top 25 any more after they lost to unranked Dayton last night 76-71. SLU plays again Friday on the road against Richmond.
