If you relied on the subtitles for “Squid Game”, you may have done yourself a disservice. A woman named Youngmi Mayer, who’s fluent in Korean, says the translators blew it BIG-TIME. She Tweeted, quote, “If you don’t understand Korean you didn’t really watch the same show. Translation was so bad. The dialogue was written so well and zero of it was preserved.” She even made a TikTok video with some examples. She says (LINK) it’s because translators are underpaid, overworked, and their art is not respected by producers. And it sounds like she’s saying this also applies to the English-dubbed dialogue, so however you watched it in English, you lost.
Are fans super happy with Netflix right now that the Sienfeld full series is up? Nope course not. If you have watched you would now that the screen ratio was changed and it is cutting off the screen wrong. The framing is wrong. In some cases you cant see Jerry’s shoes and fans are upset. Jerry’s shoes are considered by some as a character on the show. They changed the sitcom’s original 4:3 aspect ratio to the narrower, more modern and cinematic version of 16:9 — literally cutting out jokes in the process. “seinfeld’s in 16:9 on netflix and is therefore unwatchable…bummer.” @Boriskarkov tweeted (LINK). Also, this makes me wonder, Jerry Seinfeld has recently come out to say there are things in certain episodes he’d love to go back and change. But he wasn’t specific.
91 year old Clint Eastwood (LINK) was just awarded nearly $6.1 million in his lawsuit against CBD retailers. He clearly owns rights to his likeness and just scored the default judgment after the companies he sued failed to respond to his lawsuit. A Lithuanian CBD company falsely made it look like he endorsed their products and illegally tried to profit off his name, likeness, and goodwill. They even used fake interviews (LINK) with him where he gushes over the weed merch. The company took a photo of an actual interview Clint did on the Today show and flashed up words that appeared to be an endorsement. After the judgement Eastwood said CBD…that’s where Letterman’s Show is right?
We now have a date for 90 year old William Shatner taking off in Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin New Shepard NS-18 rocket next Tuesday, October 12th. Shatner said, “I’ve heard about space for a long time now. I’m taking the opportunity to see it for myself. What a miracle.”The New Shepard rocket is totally automated. It made its first quick trip into the atmosphere in July.
On yesterday’s episode of DAX SHEPARD’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, Elijah Wood talked about how the Lord of the Rings movies were originally supposed to be made by Miramax, but Harvey Weinstein and PETER JACKSON had some creative differences.Peter wanted to take the project elsewhere, but Harvey gave him a bunch of conditions that made it almost impossible. New Line eventually stepped in, and someone had the idea to memorialize Harvey as one of the trilogy’s hideous monsters (LINK)

There has been no filming involved other than his wife, Francie, documenting some of it on her cell phone. He says he was in the middle of his honeymoon when news broke Brian was missing, and he only got involved “because of my unique skill set and the fact I was only an hour away from where he was last seen.”
Smash Mouth fans … deep breath…singers Steve Harwell‘s been out lately due to health conditions, but he’s on the mend and will soon hit the stage again. The band said he had not been feeling well due to issues with cardiomyopathy and heart failure, which forced him to miss a few performances. He has had it since 2015. (a form of heart disease where the heart muscle becomes enlarged and weak, making it difficult to pump blood) The band’s current singer is someone the band knows and was substituting for a few shows, but Steve feels good now will be back beginning Thursday at the Jackson Mississippi State Fair (LINK)
The 2003 VMAs happened in 2003. They opened with Britney popping out of a wedding cake dressed as a sexy bride before being joined on stage by Christina Aguilera, also in a wedding dress, and finally … the Madonna. Madonna kissed Spears AND Aguilera … though the kiss with Britney got more pub. And now it’s being auctioned off as an NFT. I thought I would do it last year but the season got a little messed up and I don’t think it was right to work until the point of the record then just quit.” On May 25, West umpired game No. 5,376. In a 2010 survey (LINK) of MLB players, West was named the second-worst umpire in baseball and the quickest trigger for ejecting players. West said that he likely ejected around 190 players or managers throughout his career.

Last night’s “Monday Night Football” game between the L.A. Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders took place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. But there was lightning in the area, so kickoff ended up being delayed for about 40 minutes. But here’s the thing: SoFi has a DOME. So what’s the deal with a weather delay in a domed stadium??? That’s what a lot of fans were asking, but there’s a logical answer. While the stadium has a roof, the sides are open. So it makes sense that there can be weather delays at SoFi. If youre curious about the game…The Chargers picked up the 28-14 win over the Raiders
Federal authorities executed a search warrant at the Washington Football Team’s training facility and at a nearby home Friday in connection to an investigation into head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion. Vermillion, who is in his second season with the team, was placed on administrative leave Monday for what the team said was an “ongoing criminal investigation unrelated to the club.” No information regarding the investigation itself has been released. Before joining the Washington Football Team, Vermillion had spent 18 seasons as the head athletic trainer for the Panthers.
New York Jets safety Marcus Maye was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in Florida, on Feb. 22. Maye’s agent provided a statement: “It is an ongoing legal matter and our attorney has advised us we cannot comment. We are confident it will be positively resolved. We look forward to Marcus getting back on the field soon.” In addition to the DUI charge, the 28-year-old is facing two misdemeanors: DUI/damage to property and person and leaving the scene of a crash. Maye allegedly crashed a 2018 Mercedes into the rear of another vehicle while traveling on the Florida Turnpike. No injuries were reported. The driver of the other vehicle has, however, filed a civil lawsuit and is looking for “in excess” of $30,000.
Video footage and photos of Meyer went viral on Sunday that appeared to show a woman dancing alongside the former Ohio State coach at a Columbus, Ohio-area bar. The first-year Jags coach apologized publicly on Monday to the team and his family. “I just apologized to the team and the staff for being a distraction. It was stupid. So I explained everything that happened and owned it. It was stupid to…I should not have myself in that kind of position.” Meyer said that he originally stayed back in Ohio to see his grandkids following Thursday’s 24-21 loss to the Bengals in Cincinnati. He said that the incident occurred while at dinner one night as a nearby group asked to take a picture with him. Meyer said his team was focused for their upcoming game against Tennessee, but some say that he’s losing control and the team has zero confidence in him.
Bubba Wallace became just the second Black driver to win at NASCAR’s top Cup Series level when rain stopped Monday’s playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway. Wallace had driven through a crash and to the front of the field five laps before the second rain stoppage of the race. NASCAR tried to dry the track for nearly 45 minutes, but up against sundown and the rain not showing any signs of ceasing, the race was called off. Wallace is in his first season driving for 23X1 Racing, a team owned by both Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan.
Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin apologized Monday for his “stupid” comment before a loss to Alabama on Saturday afternoon. Kiffin concluded his pregame interview by telling viewers to “get your popcorn ready,” before tossing his headset and jogging to the sideline. But Kiffin’s confidence didn’t exactly pay off. Ole Miss was at one point down 28-0 before losing 42-21.
Minnesota wrestling star Gable Steveson has yet to appear in a match, but he’s already making quite the splash in WWE. The NCAA champion and Olympic gold medalist was drafted to Raw on Monday night. WWE announced (LINK) in September it had signed Steveson to a deal that allows him to continue competing for the Golden Gophers for another season. Especially with NXT 2.0 leaning more on younger, unproven developmental talent, the 21-year-old seemed like a natural fit on that roster. He could be the unquestioned No. 1 guy at Full Sail University while getting some experience and preparing for a move to the main roster.
