Classic toys have made a comeback during the pandemic.  Sales of things like Barbie Dolls, Hot Wheels, and Legos are way up.  And Tonka trucks have jumped 250% from last year.  Partly because they remind us of simpler times.  And because parents are sick of kids staring at screens all day.

Politics are so toxic this year that they’re even destroying relationships.  Just ask LIL WAYNE. Wayne became Instagram official with a model named Denise Bidot over the summer.  But it looks like they’re done. Denise deleted her Instagram yesterday . . . but before she did that, she and Wayne had already stopped following each other.  Denise also posted a meme that said, quote, “Sometimes love just isn’t enough.” And there’s talk that Wayne’s support of PRESIDENT TRUMP is what did it.

KANYE WEST voted for the first time yesterday, and he didn’t keep his choice to himself.  He Tweeted, quote, “Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust . . . me.” But what about KIM KARDASHIAN?  Did she vote for her husband?  Maybe not.  She posted the obligatory celebrity “I voted” Tweet.  But some of her other social media activity suggests she cast her vote for JOE BIDEN. She liked a post from KID CUDI that said, “Vote for Biden if you a real one” and she also a liked and re-Tweeted some stuff from KAMALA HARRIS.

Some businesses are thriving during COVID 19. . . like “Pokemon Go”, which has made A BILLION DOLLARS from in-game transactions so far this year.  And there are still two months to go. Since the game launched in 2016, players have spent $4.2 billion on in-game content, but this is the first year it’s topped the $1 billion mark.  Last year, “Pokemon Go” made $950 million.

If there’s a massive COVID-19 outbreak in country music a few weeks from now, THIS might be the cause . . .The Country Music Association announced the CMAs will NOT be virtual . . . they’re gathering everyone “together, safely, in one room, for the first time this year.” They insist that it will be a, quote, “fully safe and physically distant environment” . . . but it’s unclear how they can guarantee that, especially since the coronavirus is still raging throughout the country. In any event, the first round of performers have been announced.  Hosts Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker will take the stage together, and Darius will also take the stage with Lady A. Other performers will include:  Eric Church, Luke Combs, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Rascal Flatts, and Thomas Rhett. The CMAs will broadcast live from Nashville’s Music City Center Wednesday, November 11th on ABC.

Hollywood is reportedly interested in ADELE, after she crushed it hosting “Saturday Night Live”

Celebrity sex tapes. WE love them wether we admit it or not. What celebrity couple would you say…ok ill watch them do it? Jeff and Lauren Lowe from ‘Tiger King are getting a season 2. They are about to start taping. But they will start taping something else too. Any guesses? 2 of the biggest porn companies have reached out for them to do some sex tapes. They are being offered around $300,000 to shoot 3 videos. They Jeff and Lauren riding the hobby horse together duh but also  another with them getting down with their nanny, and a third video with them and another guy of Lauren’s choosing. That’s the trifecta…a couple’s sex tape, a ménage à trois and a devil’s threeway!!! I read they are down they just haven’t decided which company to get in bed with. A deal should be reached by the weekend. The sex tape stuff WILL be covered on season 2. Lauren seems pretty ready for it. She has started an Onlyfans account.

The “Frozen” soundtrack was HUGE on the charts, but it’s been surpassed by the “Frozen 2” soundtrack . . . at least on one chart.  The “Frozen 2” soundtrack has racked up its 45th non-consecutive week at #1 on the “Billboard” Soundtracks chart, which is a new record.  The “Frozen” soundtrack spent 44 weeks at #1 during its run. There are two tied for third:  “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” and “The Greatest Showman”. They’ve both logged 34 weeks at Number One.

Bobby Herbeck is the writer behind the OG ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ and he says he has listened to the fans all over social media. 30 years is long enough. He wants to do an “anniversary sequel” kinda like the Bill and Ted Face the Music thing did.   “We’re planning that now.  We want to do a reboot. Our fans come to us on Instagram, they’re, ‘Why don’t you guys do a reboot of the first movie?’ We’d love to do it.” He also wants the Creative Shop back for the film. That’s the Jim Henson studio now run by son Brian.

AMC Theatres is still feeling the effects of the pandemic. The world’s largest movie chain lost over $900 million last quarter, even with some of their locations reopening across the globe. Remember theatres in big cities like Los Angeles and New York have yet to reopen.  Movie studios have held back big releases to theaters until public confidence rises in being able to gather in bigger groups without COVID exposure. has a list of “surprising stories” behind TV theme songs

“Friends”.  The Rembrandts performed the theme, but the producers were originally using “It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” by R.E.M. as a placeholder, so that’s the vibe they were aiming for. The Rembrandts were surprised when the theme premiered on the show, because they didn’t add the four claps the show’s producers tacked them on.

“Gilligan’s Island”.  The original theme was composed by John Williams, who would later become famous for “Star Wars”“Jaws”, and “Indiana Jones”, among others.

“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.  They embraced “basically doing the hip-hop ‘Beverly Hillbillies’,” and they wanted the theme to tell the story of how Will ended up in Bel-Air. They only had about three weeks before the show premiered . . . but Will Smith didn’t need that much time.  He wrote it with DJ Jazzy Jeff in just 15 minutes.

“Cheers”.  The original theme was more about Ted Danson’s character Sam, and included the lines like:  “Singing the blues when the Red Sox lose, it’s a crisis in your life.  On the run ’cause all your girlfriends want to be your wife.” The producers had the songwriters re-work it to be “more universal,” because they were optimistic that the show would be a success and “run forever.”

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are working on a new album. Their guitarist John Frusciante says the band is “writing new music” and preparing to record a new album. They had been rehearasing pre pandemic and had to take some time but they are back at it. No street date was mentioned.

Ill assume none of us watched the CMT Music Awards but did anyone see the outifit Noah Cyrus was wearing? It was super tight and flesh color looking like she was mostly naked. She performed a songer along with singer JIMMIE ALLEN called This is Us. Some people thought it was inappropriate because children were watching. She was covered but it didn’t LOOK like she was covered. If you have ask jeeves youd know she is covered in tattoos and none were visible sooo…Jimmie Allen loved the outfit because he says performers are SUPPOSED to look different.

Some hardware coming to one current and one pretty much former Cardinal.  Tyler O’Neil won a gold glove over in left field and Kolton Wong picked up the honors at second.  The full list of winners in on the blog if you wanted to check it out.  Speaking of former Cardinals, there was some talk about some potential landing spots for Yadi and Wainwright.  Most all analyst believe Yadi will end up back with the Cardinals, but, there are apparently 4 teams interested in signing him.  As far as Wainwright is concerned – it looks like time may be over.  He has said that he wants to get closer to home and being from Georgia, and the fact that Atlanta is extremely interested in signing him – it may be time for Cards fans to accept that he may not be back.

A couple local stories…Another varsity football season ended early Saturday, as Holt High School announced the end of their season due to “COVID-19 issues.” The Holt High School Athletic Department tweeted the news Saturday afternoon, a day after the school defeated Fort Zumwalt West in the first round of the playoffs. Holt was scheduled to take on Francis Howell on Friday. The team was 8-1 in the 2020 season, and Friday’s playoff victory was the school’s first since 2012. The Kirkwood Pioneers’ 2020 playoff run has ended before it even got a chance to begin. Kirkwood was scheduled to play SLUH in the first round District playoffs on Friday, but have now had to forfeit the game due to reasons related to COVID-19. SLUH will now play the winner of Lindbergh and Eureka in the district semifinals. The Kirkwood junior varsity football game against CBC scheduled for Nov. 2 is also canceled. Kirkwood football said on Twitter that the annual Turkey Day varsity game against Webster Groves on Thanksgiving is still on as scheduled. The Kirkwood/Webster Groves football rivalry is the oldest high school rivalry west of the Mississippi River.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially activated Antonio Brown from the suspended list on Tuesday. Coach Bruce Arians said Tuesday that Brown will have a role in Sunday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints.  The Buccaneers signed Brown last week to a one-year deal for a base salary of $750,000, with incentives that could push the value to $2.5 million.

The NFL has fined players and coaches for not following coronavirus protocols this season, which is a big deal during a pandemic.  But they haven’t stopped slapping players with petty uniform violations. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER and running back JAMES CONNERwere each fined $5,000 for wearing their SOCKS too low . . . or their pants too high. JuJu shared a photo of the notice he received from the league, which said, quote, “Your stockings failed to cover your lower leg.”  This isn’t the first time that a player has been fined for their socks, although infractions like these aren’t typically made public.  In 2013, FRANK GORE was fined for wearing his socks wrong, but he had to shell out $10,000 for it. The NFL rulebook states:  “Stockings must cover the entire area from the shoe to the bottom of the pants, and must meet the pants below the knee.” Both players could appeal the fine, but it probably isn’t worth their time.  $5,000 won’t set them back too much, even though they’re both still on their rookie deals.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. The Cowboys are “seriously contemplating” starting Cooper Rush—who was signed to the practice squad last week—over rookie Ben DiNucci. DiNucci struggled while making his first career start in a 23-9 loss in Week 8. Dalton took over the Cowboys offense after Dak Prescott suffered a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle.  However, the 33-year-old’s run as the starter didn’t last long as he was concussed by an illegal hit from Washington Football Team linebacker Jon Bostic in Week 7. That left DiNucci as next in line to start against the Eagles.

The Denver Broncos announced team CEO Joe Ellis and general manager John Elway tested positive for COVID-19.  The team said: “Other than mild symptoms, both Joe and John are doing well. They will continue to work from home in self-isolation and participate in virtual meetings while their health is monitored. Based on a review of contact tracing data with the league, we are confident these cases originated independently outside of team facilities.”

Trevor Lawrence won’t be cleared to play for Saturday’s game against Notre Dame, but the Clemson quarterback will still help his team from the sidelines. He will act in a coaching role.  Lawrence will have completed the mandatory 10-day isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 before Saturday’s game, but he still has to go through testing. The school also has a self-enforced period of two days before players can return to action.

Wisconsin announced its game Saturday against Purdue is canceled as the program continues to deal with a COVID-19 outbreak. The Badgers had to cancel their Oct. 31 clash with Nebraska for the same reason.  As of right now, there are 27 active cases of COVID-19 on the Badgers team.  15 students and 12 staff members currently.

World football legend Diego Maradona is recovering after undergoing successful surgery to remove a hematoma from his brain. Maradona, 60, was hospitalized Monday night with dehydration, depression and anemia. An MRI later detected that he had a subdural hematoma, a collection of blood on the surface of the brain.
