Last week, the fast food joint Sonic put a single cup of ice up for sale on eBay, and said they were auctioning it off for charity.  The money will go toward supplies for teachers.  Well, the auction ended yesterday . . . and the winning bid was $11,211.

The “Emmys” went virtual last night, and “Schitt’s Creek” won NINE Emmys for their sixth and final season, including Best Comedy Series. That’s a new record for most wins in a single season for a comedy series.  “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” had set the previous record of eight in 2018, and did it again in 2019. The cast swept the acting categories.  Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara won Best Actor and Actress, and Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy won for Supporting Actor and Actress.  That’s the first time a comedy series has done that. Daniel Levy also set a record for most wins for an individual in a single season, with four.  He also got trophies for writing and directing . . . plus Best Comedy Series, since he’s a producer.  FYI, “Schitt’s Creek” had ZERO EMMYS heading into the night.  Awards were mostly delivered to those locations by people in Hazmat suits.  What’s funny is that someone had to be on hand with an Emmy at every nominee’s house.

And actor Ramy Youssef posted a video of HIS trophy guy leaving with the Emmy after he LOST.

Remember Allison Mack? The actress in that NXIVM sex traffic/cult organization? She is enrolled in UC Berkley and is taking classes. Would you be ok with her in your Zoom class? Mack was enrolled in multiple courses, including one titled “Gender, Sex and Power” and another titled “The History and Practice of Human Rights.” She was in a ‘Gender, Sex and Power’ class for about a week, but left voluntarily after outcry from students who did not feel safe discussing those topics with someone who branded other women,” Due to privacy laws the school cant really elaborate.  I saw a screenshot of her in a Zoom class of “The History and Practice of Human Rights” Mack pleaded guilty to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges connected to her involvement  and is currently awaiting sentencing. She has also been charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy, and has pleaded not guilty. Despite being under house arrest, Mack is able to attend college classes because of an exemption granted by the court in 2018 that allows her to go to school, work, and attend church. Raniere was found guilty in June 2019 of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, trafficking of labor, forced labor conspiracy, and sexual exploitation of a child, among other charges. He is currently scheduled to be sentenced in October of this year. UC-Berkeley, like all schools that fall under the UC umbrella, enacted a “Beyond the Box” initiative in 2016, eliminating the requirement that students disclose “criminal justice information,” like past convictions or even active legal proceedings, during the college admissions process.

“Jeopardy!” may have cheated a contestant out of a correct answer. During a Final Jeopardy last week, the contestants had to identify Motown producer BERRY GORDY.  A contestant named Betsy wrote “BARRY” Gordy, with an “A” instead of an “E”.  And she got it WRONG. Betsy had no chance of winning, but fans are still upset, because there are plenty of instances in the show’s history where a contestant spelled their answer wrong, but it still counted, because the pronunciation was the same. Like when a woman spelled actor Yul Brenner’s name as “Yule” with an “E” at the end.  Or contestants spelled Wile E. Coyote’s name as “Wiley Coyote.” The game rules even state that misspelling is okay, as long as the answer is “phonetically correct.”  And “Barry” and “Berry” clearly are. But in this case, “Jeopardy!” claims they’re two different names, and thus the contestant added “incorrect information” to her answer.

A new space travel show plans to send a civilian contestant to space in 2023. Space Hero Inc., a U.S.-based production company, has secured a seat on a private (likely the SpaceX Dragon) rocket to go to the International Space Station. The contestant will be chosen through an unscripted show called Space Hero. Everyday people from different backgrounds around the globe will be sought for the show. The common trait: they will all share a deep love for space exploration. Contestants will undergo extensive training and face physical, mental and emotional challenges.

“Elf” is considered a modern classic among Christmas movies, so it’s surprising there’s never been a sequel. And now, we know why. JAMES CAAN played Buddy’s biological father in the movie, and in a recent interview, he said, quote, “We were going to do it . . . but the director [Jon Favreau] and Will [Ferrell] didn’t get along very well.” Apparently, Will wanted to do it . . . but apparently he wanted to do it without Favreau, but because of contractual obligations, it got too messy.

TOM HARDY was trending on Google this weekend, because there’s a report circulating online claiming he’s the next James Bond.  Nothing is official yet. DANIEL CRAIG’s final appearance as Bond will be in the upcoming movie “No Time to Die”, which has been delayed due to COVID-19.  It’s supposed to come out in November . . . but it’s possible that it could get pushed back again. The report claims that the announcement of Tom’s casting will be made in November . . . or early next year if “No Time to Die” gets pushed back.

44 year old actor Danny Masterson, from That ’70s Show, was in court accused of raping three women in the early 2000s. He is charged with raping the women, who were all in their 20s, between 2001 and 2003. He denies it all and says he is being persecuted for his high-profile membership of the Church of Scientology. If convicted, the actor could face up to 45 years in prison. Free on $3.3m (£2.5m) bail since his arrest in mid-June, Mr Masterson made his first court appearance over the allegations in Los Angeles on Friday. His lawyer, Tom Mesereau, the lawyer for Micheal Jackson back in the day, says its all politically motivated. The lawyer accused Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey of filing the charges for political gain ahead of a bid to retain her post in a November election. Friday’s court hearing was attended by all three of Mr Masterson’s accusers, while about 20 of the actor’s supporters stood outside the courtroom, unable to enter due to coronavirus regulations. Mr Masterson has been married to the actor and model Bijou Phillips since 2011.

Silento, the rapper behind Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), is the proud new owner of a bench warrant for his arrest. He skipped out on his court appearance. He is facing 2 charges of assault with a deadly weapon. He was arrested after going into a random LA house with a hatchet supposedly looking for his girlfriend. His lawyer did appear, but because he wasn’t there his bail was revoked. March 22nd is his next appearance to miss.

Yes in 2020 Kanye West is saying he wants to help Taylor Swift get her master recordings back from Scooter Braun.  He Tweeted that he’s going to “personally see to it” that Taylor gets her master recordings back, because Scooter Braun is a “close family friend.” Kanye is on a mission to get HIS masters back.  Speaking of women who can’t stand Kanye, KIM KARDASHIAN is reportedly thinking about divorcing him over his recent antics.  And also his hardline stance against abortion. A so-called “source” says, quote, “Kim has the whole divorce planned out, but she’s waiting for him to get through his latest episode.”

Super glad the Dr Dre divorce isn’t getting nasty. A company they founded together says she drained the company bank account and posted a copy of the check she wrote herself for over $363,000.00. They are accusing her of embezzlement. It is a recording studio called Record One. The letter accuses Nicole of “blatant and unjustifiable criminal embezzlement of corporate funds.” They are giving her until Tuesday or a lawsuit is coming. Remember she says she signed a prenup under duress. Her lawyers say she did nothing illegal.

U2 relaunched the band’s YouTube channel on Friday and plans release their iconic music videos on a weekly basis.   The first release on Friday was a 4K remaster of “Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of,” which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the song’s Grammy winning album All That You Can’t Leave Behind.

Smashing Pumpkins will release a 20 track album called Cyr November 27th. . Cyr also was a single already released. Its studio LP number 11. Along with the album, Billy Corgan will release a five-part animated series called In Ashes. The series is animated by Deep Sky. The first two episodes arrive on September 25.

Elton John has a new boxed set full of rarities and unreleased songs coming called Elton: Jewel Box. Along with the announcement, he also shared an unreleased song, “Sing Me No Sad Songs,” with lyrics that actually foreshadow two of his big future hits: “Sad Songs” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” Elton: Jewel Box is due November 13. Prince’s estate released a previously-unheard song called “I Need a Man”.  Back in the day, he offered it to Bonnie Raitt.

  • Anal Acrobats
  • The Meanest Lesbians
  • The Chronicles of a Whore
  • Whoa! I Have A Wife

  • And who could forget…her unforgettable role in….Unfortunately We Are Addicted to Anal

The Cardinals have won 4 in a row against the Pirates and firmly are holding on to 2nd place in the NL Central.  The Cards most recent win came off a stellar performance from Jack Flaherty who struck out 11.  The 2-1 win puts the Cardinals at 26-24 and 3.5 games behind the Cubs but firmly set in the NL Wild Card picture.  Cards are back on the field tonight as they take on the Royals.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 and Adam Wainwright gets the start.

Over the weekend a few more MLB teams clinched their post season spot.  In the AL, the Rays, Yankees, White Sox, Twins, and As all clinched.  In the NL the Dodgers and Padres both clinched.  The Cardinals, as well as a few other teams, have 8 regular season games left this season.

Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season is shaping up to be the most brutal of the year and it’ll have little to do with who won or lost. A number of potentially long-term and season-ending injuries rocked teams across the NFL as some of the game’s biggest stars found themselves struggling to get off the field. Here’s a look at some of the most notable players who exited early:

Nick Bosa, DE San Francisco 49ers: likely torn ACL.
Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers: high ankle sprain Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants: likely torn ACL
Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers: ankle injury
Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers: hamstring injury
Drew Lock, QB, Denver Broncos: shoulder injury; left stadium in a sling
Raheem Mostert, RB, San Francisco 49ers: feared MCL sprain
Tyrod Taylor, QB, Los Angeles Chargers: chest injury

New England Patriots running back James White’s father, Tyrone, died in a car accident Sunday. White was inactive for the team’s 35-30 road loss to the  Seahawks. The wreck that killed Tyrone White happened around noon in Florida. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two crashed cars, one flipped over and the other on fire. Deputies and firefighters extinguished the blaze, and an air rescue team transported two people to a hospital. Tyrone White, a captain with the Miami-Dade Police Department, was pronounced dead at the scene. James White’s mom was also injured in the crash and is listed in critical condition. Authorities did not provide details about the condition of the third person who was in the crash. Patriots owner Robert Kraft offered to fly White to Miami, but White decided to return home with the team.

It was a particularly brutal day for the Niners, who entered Sunday’s 31-13 victory at the Jets already without tight end George Kittle and left with injuries to Bosa, Garoppolo and Mostert—all key players on a San Francisco team that won the NFC in 2019.

The Dallas Stars won their 4th straight game and are up 1-0 against the Tampa Bay Lightning after a 4-1 victory on Saturday.  Tonight, the two teams are back at it as they play Game 2 from the bubble at 7PM on NBC Sports Network.

On Saturday, the Boston Celtics got a huge win in Game 3 over the Miami Heat.  With the loss the Heat are 2-1 in that series.  But last night, the Nuggets looked to avoid being down 2-0 as they took on the Lakers.  At one point they were down 16, but they clawed their way back.  They were up 103-102 with 2.1 seconds to go as LA inbounded the ball…((AUDIO)).  Game three in the Western Conference Finals is tomorrow @ 8PM.  The Eastern Conference Finals are off until Wednesday.

Bryson DeChambeau is your 2020 US Open champion.  He finished as they only golfer under par as he finished 6 strokes under.  By all accounts, this was one of the toughest US Opens in years and it showed.  Tiger Woods missed the cut on Saturday, and Rory McIlroy had an extremely inconsistent tournament.  2nd place was 6 shots behind the leader..and third place was 8 shots behind.  Rough weekend for most all golfers.
It wasn’t pretty from the get go for St. Louis’ own Tyron Woodley at UFC Fight Night on Friday night.  Colby Covington dominated the fight from start to finish.  It was a 5th round TKO after Woodley suffered a rib injury to officially end the fight, but it was clear to everyone who was the winner.  This is Woodley’s 3 straight loss.  Matter of fact, they looked into it and said if you break it down by round, Woodley has lost 15 consecutive rounds.
