Ruby Tuesday has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and has permanently closed 185 restaurants.

Since the passing of Eddie Van Halen on Tuesday, sales of Van Halen songs and albums are up 6,000%!  Here’s a fun, UNPLUGGED performance of  “Beautiful Girls” from 2012.  It’s Eddie, with a jovial David Lee Roth singing, Alex Van Halen on conga, and Eddie’s son Wolfgang on bass, doing the background vocals with his dad.

Billy Bush had a chat with Gene Simmons yesterday about the passing of Eddie Van Halen.

‘Bill and Ted’ writer Ed Solomon paid tribute to late guitar legend Eddie Van Halen On Twitter Tuesday, revealing that he and co-writer Chris Matheson tried to get Van Halen for a ‘Face The Music’ cameo. Solomon wrote that EVH was a huge influence on the film, adding that director Stephen Harek put on Van Halen’s ‘1984’ while reading the script for the 2020 sequel. The team were desperate to get Van Halen to make a cameo in ‘Bill & Ted Face The Music’.  Solomon remembered: “We tried to get him to do something – anything but said he was unavailable and wouldn’t tell us why.  Sadly I think I now know.” Solomon reinforced his fandom by sharing the “Eddie Van Halen” clip from the 1989 ‘Bill & Ted’ film.

“Saturday Night Live” has canceled MORGAN WALLEN’s appearance on this week’s show after videos and photos hit the Internet of him partying without a mask.  Most of it seemed to happen last Saturday. He was in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama – Texas A&M football game.  Clips show him hanging out with maskless college kids, doing shots, sharing a bottle of whiskey, and making out with coeds.  All of that goes against safety protocols, so “SNL” had no choice.  Once the news hit that he was canceled, Morgan posted a video where he admitted that he made a huge mistake and vowed to change things.  Here’s some of that He also said that “SNL” boss Lorne Michaels gave him encouragement and told him they’ll find time to make it up. It was back in May that Morgan got arrested for public intoxication and disorderly contact outside of Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk & Rock ‘N’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville.  He didn’t break any laws this time around or get arrested.

Production and filming on Jurassic World: Dominion’ Shuts Down After Positive Coronavirus Tests. They will start back up in 2 weeks.  Multiple people involved with production tested positive. Dominion has about three weeks left on production in the U.K. and previously shut down in March — along with productions worldwide — amid the coronavirus pandemic. It resumed production July 6, with new safety protocols in place, which included the cast and crew staying together in a hotel bought out by Universal in an effort to maintain a quarantine bubble, as well as coronavirus testing three times a week for cast and crew. As of mid-September, THR reported the production had generated an astounding 27,000 COVID-19 tests — which had added about $3 million to the production budget in testing alone. This one day after they pushed the film back by a year to June 10, 2022, because of uncertainties surrounding the theatrical calendar during the pandemic.

Check out the trailer for “Fat Man”, starring MEL GIBSON as a bitter, hard-drinking Santa who has to fight off a hitman sent by a kid he gave a lump of coal to. Its on the blog. Chris Cringle’s “business” is in decline so Santa enters into a partnership with the U.S. military for extra cash. Meanwhile, Santa gets “locked into a deadly battle of wits against a highly-skilled assassin (Walton Goggins), hired by a precocious 12-year-old who received a lump of coal in his stocking.”  December 3rd is the current release date.

Most horror fans wouldn’t even consider this a job . . . but you’ll get paid for it anyway. CableTV.com is looking for someone to watch horror movies for 24 hours straight.  If they choose you, you’ll get $1,000, a $50 Starbucks gift card, and . . . candy. No, they’re not saying what kind or how much.  Just . . . candy. The best part is YOU get to pick the movies.  They say, quote, “Anything goes: gooey gore-fests, monster movies, folk horror, killer clowns, ghost stories, giallo films, psychological thrillers, and even awesomely bad B-flicks.” And of course, you have to live-Tweet the whole thing

To show how messed up 2020 has been when it comes to Hollywood the  Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted that drive-in screenings will now count towards qualifying a film for the 93rd Oscars. For drive-in screenings, there will only be one screening per day required, as opposed to three for all others. With the gradual re-opening of theaters, the Academy has added this two-part addendum:

1. Films which are intended for theatrical release, but are initially made available through commercial streaming, VOD service or other broadcast may qualify by making the film available on the secure Academy Screening Room member site within 60 days of the film’s streaming/VOD release or broadcast.

2. Films may qualify with a traditional theatrical release, completing a seven-day run in one of six qualifying cities (Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco/Bay Area, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta), screening at least three times daily, with at least one screening between 6 pm and 10 pm daily. Additionally, drive-in theaters in these cities will now qualify as a commercial venue, however, the screening requirement will be adjusted from three times daily to once daily. Films that have a theatrical release are not required to submit to the Academy Screening Room within 60 days — it is optional.

The 93rd Oscars will take place on April 25, 2021.

Celebrities are always making videos urging you to vote.  But they never really WORK for it.  Until now.  A bunch of celebs just went NAKED to coax us to the polls. They include Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler, Chris Rock, Mark Ruffalo, Tiffany Haddish, and Amy Schumer.  Borat shows up too . . . but ironically, he’s the only one who DOESN’T take his clothes off. Most of the action is shot from the shoulders up.  But Sarah Silverman gives us a sexy hand bra.  She even frees the girls at one point, but they’re censored.

We’ve all been sitting in front of Netflix . . . watching our third episode of something . . . and got the “Are you still watching?” message. It’s a little annoying . . . and very JUDGY.  It’s like, “YES, I’m still watching . . . and what’s it to you?  YOU hooked me on this show in the first place.” Well, Netflix might let you opt out of those in the future.  They’re testing a new message, which includes three responses:  “Ask again later,” “play without asking again,” and “I’m done.” The “play without asking again” option suggests that you’ll no longer receive the prompt . . . possibly forever.  Netflix hasn’t commented, so it’s not 100% clear if that means you’d NEVER see the prompt again. There are benefits to Netflix checking in.  If you get distracted or fall asleep, it’s not good to have it continuing to stream for hours and hours on end.  It also helps keep your place, and it’s a gentle reminder that you’ve been watching for a while. And there are business reasons why Netflix would like to know if you’re still around or if you dozed off a few episodes back. It’s unclear if and when the new screen with the options will become standard.

There was yet another hearing in the endless debate over BRITNEY SPEARS’ conservatorship, and her OWN LAWYER is saying that she isn’t too sharp. The lawyer was in court without Britney, and was speaking on her behalf, so the judge asked if he could have her sign a document to confirm her feelings.  But the lawyer said she didn’t even have the brain power to handle that. He compared her to a comatose patient . . . in terms of her incapability of signing a legal document.  He said that comatose patients can have their lawyers speak for them, and that should be the case for Britney, even though she ISN’T in a coma.

In his new memoir, LENNY KRAVITZ confirms that BILL COSBY hated it when LISA BONET got pregnant, and he basically banished her from “The Cosby Show” and its spin-off “A Different World”. Lenny and Lisa were married at the time, and Lisa was 20 years old. The producers of “A Different World” toyed with the idea of writing the pregnancy into the show . . . but Cosby blocked it from happening.  He reportedly said, quote, “Lisa Bonet is pregnant, but Denise Huxtable is not.” Lisa never returned to that show after its first season, even though it was originally supposed to center on her. Bill DID invite her back to “The Cosby Show” AFTER she’d given birth, but the relationship between them never recovered, and she left the show in 1991. There’s been talk about this in the past.  And Cosby was also upset with Lisa for doing the 1987 thriller “Angel Heart”, partially because she had a nude scene.  He once said, quote, “It’s a movie made by White America that cast a black girl, gave her voodoo things to do, and have sex.”

Yesterday the divisional series continued in baseball as the Braves went up 2-0 against the Marlins with a 2-0 win.  The A’s avoided elimination and picked up the 9-7 win against the Astros.  That series is 2-1 in favor of Houston.  The Rays also avoided being bounced with a 8-4 win against the Yankees.  The Dodgers are up 2-0 against the Padres in their series as well.  Today, the Braves could sweep, the Astros have a chance to move on, the Yankees do as well and the Dodgers can eliminate the Padres.

Tonight its Thursday Night Football between the Bears and Bucs in Chicago.  Kick off is scheduled for 7:20PM and don’t forget to make your picks at 1057thepoint.com/picks.

The Tennessee Titans could be facing what some are calling HISTORIC punishments after the NFL found that they broke COVID 19 protocols by practicing when they w ere told not to.  And, not only to did they practice, but, QB Ryan Tannehill was among those in attendance.  So it was damn near a full team practice.  They “worked out” even though they were told to quartile.  Remember, the Titans are one of the teams that have had 22 people on their team/personnel test positive for the virus.  Nothing is official but rumors are the punishments could be a large amount of money, and even possibly making players sit out the remainder of the year without pay.

Speaking of the NFL – the league has said that they are not giving any serious consideration to pausing the season or going to home market bubbles with mandatory hotel stays for players and coaches.  They stand behind their belief that they will be able to make it through the remainder of the season.

One final thing, if you are working on your fantasy lineup today…The Jets announced that Sam Darnold is out with an injury this week and that Joe Flacco will start in place of Darnold.  Speaking of QB changes…Dwayne Haskins had a decent day last week.  He went 32-45 with no interceptions against the Ravens, but the team did lose.  And, to honor his stellar performance….they are demoting him to third string and starting QB Kyle Allen.  Head coach of the Washington Football team Ron Rivera said: “I want the best chance to win, and this is our best chance.”

The NFL has seen a slight ratings dip in viewership.  Nothing monumental but a slight dip.  The NBA on the other hand?  Its awful.  Game 2 and Game 3 of this NBA finals is the ALL TIME LOWS for the NBA finals.  There may be some reasons though….Game 2 took place on a Friday…the NBA NEVER play finals games on Fridays because Friday NBA viewership is traditionally awful.  And game three was on Sunday night which went up head-to-head with the NFL game.  But still….yikes.  Game 1 – which was in NBA FINALS PRIME TIME – had 7 million viewers….Game 1 last year had 15 million. The Mizzou/LSU game scheduled for Saturday night in Louisiana has officially been moved to Mizzou.  Hurricane Delta is headed directly for Louisiana and just to be safe they are moving the game up to Columbia.  Kick off was originally scheduled for 8PM but now….it’s scheduled for noon.
