‘It took only $3.7 million in ticket sales for Liam Neeson’s ‘Honest Thief” to take the top spot at the box office over the weekend.  Those are some of the lowest sales figures for a box office debut. The Robert De Niro comedy ‘War with Grandpa’ earned around $2.5 million over the weekend, which is a 31% earnings drop from its opening weekend. Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ earned $1.6 million in its seventh week, bringing the movie’s U.S. total to $50.6 million.  Tenet’s total global sales now sit at over $339 million.

With movie theaters doing what they can to make money during the pandemic, this idea could be good for you to get out of the house. AMC Theaters are offering private movie screenings starting at $99. Add ons include food and drink as well as the use of a microphone to introduce the movie.  AMC joins other movie operators in offering private screenings.

Craft services go thru lots of product during a major movie shoot. The producers of No Time To Die went thru 8,400 gallons of Coca Cola. And non of it was consumed. They used all that sticky liquid to make a motorcycle stunt safer. Daniel Craig came up with the idea. It cost over $71,000. No Time To Die is due out in April next year after being delayed twice by the coronavirus pandemic. It’s thought the film will be Craig’s final Bond instalment.

Back in 2018, KEVIN HART quit as host of the upcoming Oscars, after some homophobic jokes of his from years ago resurfaced.  They wanted him to apologize, but instead, he bounced. Well, Kevin gets his chance to redeem himself next Saturday when he hosts the newly-revamped Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon. The MDA stopped doing the telethon six years ago, after a highly-publicized falling out with longtime host JERRY LEWIS.  Kevin’s version won’t be a marathon like Jerry’s.  It’ll be two hours long, and it’ll air on YouTube. And not surprisingly, Kevin plans to play it safe on Saturday.  He says, quote, “We’re in extreme sensitive times, and you have to carry yourself accordingly.  It’s a must now.”

“The Simpsons” annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode was supposed to air last night, but it was postponed due to Game 7 of the NLCS.  It’ll air on November 1st instead

ZACHERY TY BRYAN from “Home Improvement” was arrested after allegedly STRANGLING his girlfriend during an argument on Saturday outside his apartment in Eugene, Oregon. He played the oldest kid, Brad.  He’s 39 now, and hasn’t acted in over a decade. A few weeks ago, Zachery and his wife Carly announced that they’re separating after 13 years of marriage.  Apparently, he already has a new girlfriend, and she’s the one who he assaulted. The Eugene Police Department said that when the officers arrived, they found Zachery sitting outside and his girlfriend at a neighbor’s apartment. Zachery is accused of assaulting her, “impeding her breathing,” and taking her phone away when she tried to call 911.  He was taken into custody, and charged with felony strangulation, assault, and interfering with making a report. It’s possible that alcohol was a factor.  A few hours before, he shared a photo of himself and some friends at a bar.  His account has since been deactivated. Zachery hasn’t commented . . . he may still be in jail.  The girlfriend seems okay.  She refused medical attention at the scene

I know him from Holey Moley and you guys know him from”The Hangover”.  Rob Riggle’s wife of 21 years filed for divorce. Tiffany Riggle cited irreconcilable differences. They got married back on April 13, 1999, and she lists May 2, 2020 as the date of separation. They have a 16-year-old daughter Abigail and 12-year-old son George … and she’s asking for joint custody and spousal support. Tiffany says she wants her car wash purchased in 2014 as separate property. She’s listed 2 houses, several bank accounts and interest in vodka and whiskey companies to be considered community property.

The weekly Billboard 200 albums chart is out, and the #7 album is one that was released 43 YEARS ago. “Rumours” by FLEETWOOD MAC. If you’ve spent ANY time on the Internet this month, you know why:  Nathan Apodaca went viral for the TikTok video of himself skateboarding to work, drinking cran-raspberry juice, and singing “Dreams”, which is on that album. The Flaming Lips Performed their First Bubble Concert and it looks pretty ridiculous by which I mean it looks like  Flaming Lips show. The lead singer has played shows in the past in a bubble but this time everyone was in one. It was in Oklahoma City. Flaming Lips are trying to determine if the bubbles could safely protect concert goers from spreading COVID-19 and thus allow concerts to resume during the pandemic. The crowd seemed cool with it.,

15 Artists Who Hated Their Own Hit Songs

Nirvana, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’

It’s popularity ruined “Teen Spirit” for Kurt Cobain. “I can barely get through ‘Teen Spirit.’ I literally want to throw my guitar down and walk away,”

Guns N’ Roses, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’

Slash famously used to hate his iconic lead from Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” “I hated it for years,” the guitar icon admitted. “But it would cause such a reaction, so I’ve finally gotten to appreciate it.” To this day, “Sweet Child” remains the only No. 1 single of the band’s career in the U.S.

Led Zeppelin, ‘Stairway to Heaven’

Plant believed the song’s instrumental sections were top notch, but found that he could no longer relate to its abstract lyrics. “I’d break out in hives if I had to sing that song in every show,”

Metallica, ‘Escape’

Metallica frontman James Hetfield isn’t into the lyrics he wrote for “Escape.” He avoided playing the song for decades until they did Ride the Lightning in full at Orion Fest, which the singer called one of his worst nightmares.

The Who, ‘Pinball Wizard’

Did you know Pete Townshend hates “Pinball Wizard”? Widely heralded as a Who classic, “Pinball Wizard” has remained a staple of the band’s live show, despite Townshend publicly calling the song “awful” and “the most clumsy piece of writing I’ve ever done.”

Beastie Boys, ‘Fight for Your Right (to Party)’

They ended up hating the jockish feel of the song and even admitted it turned the young rap group into exactly what they’d set out to make fun of.

Dio, ‘Rainbow in the Dark’

Ronnie James Dio almost destroyed the master tapes to the classic song, initially thinking the song was too poppy. “I absolutely hated that song,” Dio admitted. “I hated that song in context to what I was trying to accomplish with the [Holy Diver] album.”

Queen, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’

Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” has been called the most uplifting song in history, but guitarist Brian May didn’t like the song at first. May believed the track celebrated the hedonistic and risky lifestyle Freddie Mercury was living at the time, but the guitarist eventually came around, describing “Don’t Stop Me Now” as a piece of “unfettered joy.”

Radiohead, ‘Creep’

“Creep” has been played live sparingly since 1998, with singer Thom Yorke once yelling, “F off, we’re tired of it,” after a fan requested “Creep” at a Montreal show.

Oasis, ‘Wonderwall’

Everyone loves “Wonderwall” right? Not Liam Gallagher. “I can’t stand that fucking song,” the former Oasis frontman said. “Every time I have to sing it I want to gag. You go to America and they’re like, ‘Are you Mr. Wonderwall?’ You want to chin someone.”

Warrant, ‘Cherry Pie’

Warrant will always be remembered for “Cherry Pie,” but singer Jani Lane denounced his own hit song. “I had no intention of writing that song,” Lane once said. “I could shoot myself in the head for writing that song.”

Run DMC & Aerosmith, ‘Walk This Way’

When Rick Rubin suggested to Run-DMC that they should remake Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” as a hip-hop anthem, both Rev. Run and DMC hated the idea, but Jam Master Jay was open to it. Initially writing off the Aerosmith song as “hillbilly gibberish,” Run-DMC eventually allowed the collaboration to happen, making history in the process. DMC didn’t even like his version of the song at first, saying “it took a minute” for him to appreciate it.

R.E.M., ‘Shiny Happy People’

“If there was one song that was sent into outer space to represent R.E.M. for the rest of time, I would not want it to be ‘Shiny Happy People,’” singer Michael Stipe once said. Stipe has criticized the popular song’s lack of depth, saying “it’s a fruity pop song written for children.” R.E.M. even refused to have “Shiny Happy People” included on their 2003 greatest hits album.

Both league championships came down to a deciding Game 7 over the weekend.  In the first one, for the American league on Saturday, the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Houston Astros.  Here’s the final call.

The Los Angeles Dodgers came from behind in the series to beat the Atlanta Braves, 4 games to 3, in the National League Championship series.  Here’s the final call.  (The final score was also 4 to 3.)

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the no-longer-perfect Green Bay Packers yesterday, 38 to 10.  Rob Gronkowski also scored his first TD as a Buc.  It happened at the end of the first half.  Here’s the play.  (The Bucs go to 4 and 2.  The Packers are now 4 and 1.)

The to-do list for the St. Louis Blues is getting shorter and shorter for 2020. The Blues just signed both Austin Poganski and Mitch Reinke. Neither player get any certainty beyond this season.

Both Reinke and Poganski signed one-year contracts. Both deals are two-way contracts, meaning the team has little intention of having them showcase in the NHL unless a long string of injuries happens or they just blow away the scouts in training camp.

The sixth week of the NFL got off without a hitch even as reports of positive coronavirus tests ran rampant about the league in the days leading up to Sunday’s slate.

The New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons both picked up their first wins of the 2020 season while the New York Jets remained the only winless team in the league after getting shellacked by the Miami Dolphins.

The Las Vegas RaidersLos Angeles ChargersNew Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks were all on bye weeks.

Fans will be treated to two Monday night games with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Arizona Cardinals.
