He now faces seven additional sexual assault counts, including three counts of forcible rape, two counts of forcible oral copulation and one count each of sexual battery by restraint and more id rather not say. He was already facing more than 20 counts of sexual assault, with the allegations going back decades. He pleaded not guilty to the new charges. He is scheduled to return to court Dec. 14 for a preliminary hearing. He has been in jail since June. BTW, 14 cases were declined Wednesday because they were outside the statute of limitations. If convicted as charged, he faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 330 years to life in state prison. This week, Pasadena, California’s city council told officials to come up with ideas to memorialize hometown boy Eddie Van Halen, who died of cancer on October 6th. The city could consider renaming a street near Van Halen’s rehearsal space. Other considerations include installing a plaque, renaming a city building or building a statue. One resident is trying to convince city officials to preserve the concrete outside of a liquor store where EVH wrote his name.
When a musician dies many fans wait and hope for unreleased material. A song or 2 maybe 3. Rumor is Eddie Van Halen left behind “tons” of unreleased music, resulting in “close to a million CDs, cassettes, boxes and boxes and boxes.” The cashe of stuff was talked about in an interview back in 2008. And in cass you were wondering he was okay with it saying…it will come out someday and I hope people enjoy it.
Singer-songwriter BILLY JOE SHAVER died yesterday after suffering a stroke. He was 81. He released over 20 albums, and you may know him from the original version of the “Squidbillies” theme song. His good friend Willie Nelson once called him “the greatest living songwriter.” His music was recorded by Waylon Jennings, David Allan Coe, Patty Loveless, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Paycheck. It was ten years ago that Willie showed up to support Billy Joe at his trial when he was accused of shooting a guy in the face. He was found not guilty. Robert Duvall was at the trial too. April 2010 article…After a three-day trial that drew friends Willie Nelson and Robert Duvall to a Waco, Texas courtroom, outlaw country artist Billy Joe Shaver was found not guilty Friday on charges of aggravated assault for shooting a man in the face outside a Texas bar in 2007. “I am very sorry about the incident,” Shaver said outside the courtroom. “Hopefully things will work out where we become friends enough so that he gives me back my bullet.”
In a packed, sweltering courtroom, Shaver, 70, admitted to shooting Billy Bryant Coker on the back porch of Papa Joe’s Saloon, a beer joint outside Shaver’s Waco hometown. The singer pleaded self-defense, claiming Coker stirred his drink with a pocket blade, wiped it on Shaver’s shirt and asked him to come outside. “I felt he was gonna kill me,” Shaver testified. “He was a big bully, the worst I ever seen — a big bad one. And I been all around the world.”
State prosecutors argued Shaver could have left in his truck before shooting Coker. “I’m from Texas,” Shaver responded in his honky-tonk Texas drawl. “If I was a chicken shit I would have left.” The shooting occurred March 31, 2007, after Shaver stopped into the smoky bar for a beer with his former wife, Wanda. Shaver testified Coker was rude to Wanda and told Shaver to “Shut the fuck up.” After the two went outside, witnesses testified Shaver asked Coker, “Where do you want it?” then pointed a .22 pistol at Coker’s cheek, pulled the trigger and fled in his truck. When Shaver was asked on the stand if he shot Coker because Shaver was jealous the victim was talking Shaver’s wife, Shaver laughed. “I get more woman than a passenger train can haul,” he said.
KAREN O from the YEAH YEAH YEAHS and WILLIE NELSON recorded a new cover of “Under Pressure“. . . which was originally recorded by Queen and David Bowie, and released in 1981. Karen says, quote, “Our cover was meant to be more intimate but just as saturated with the power of love. “I can’t listen to this song without tearing up every time Willie comes in, one of the purest voices which of course reflects a pure heart, and I get to sing alongside it. I hope the song brings as much light to the listener as it has to me in dark times.”

Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Ozzy producer Andrew Watt threw a birthday bash last weekend that turned into a massive jam session. Thankfully it was caught on cell phone and is up on Youtube. Post Malone was there on guitar. Chad Smith AND Taylor Hawkins were on drums. Chris Chaney from Jane’s Addiction also there playing. My 2 favorite Youtube comments so far… “Dude, I didn’t know Post Malone could jam like that.” and “This is what happens when someone says ‘Let’s just get stoned and jam.'”

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom posted an Instagram video were they encourage people to vote

Amazon is pulling a Netflix. They aren’t fully up front about numbers but… they said that “Borat 2” was streamed by, quote, “tens of millions of customers” during its debut weekend. Also, Kazakhstan isn’t fighting the whole “Borat” thing anymore. They’re actually using Borat’s catchphrase, “Very Nice,” in tourism ads. One official says, quote, “In COVID times, when tourism spending is on hold, it was good to see the country mentioned in the media.” (The ads are mostly visual with the catchphrase being used after tasting something, taking in the beauty and having a picture taken. Here’s a rapid-fire clip.
62-year-old JEANISE JONES is one of the breakout stars of “Borat 2”. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, she basically babbysits Borat’s daughter Tutar while he takes care of some business. But she ends up helping Tutar learn to love herself, and think for herself. She didn’t know it was fake and her pastor who recommended her for the part didn’t know it was fake. She was pissed at first. She was really concerened for Tutar. She hasa been out of work due to the pandemic and she only made $3600 on the film. But this will help. Her pastor set up a GoFundMe for her. As of last night, it raised more than $99,000. FYI, in an interview on Monday, Jeanise said she hasn’t seen “Borat 2” yet, because she doesn’t have Amazon Prime.
This shouldn’t come as a shock to you, but when you “buy” video content from Amazon Prime, you don’t necessarily own it forever. A woman filed a class-action lawsuit against Amazon earlier this year for unfair competition and false advertising claiming that the company “secretly reserves the right” to end a customer’s access to content they purchased. Amazon’s response to that is . . . IT’S NO SECRET. When you buy digital content, what you’re actually paying for is a LIMITED LICENSE. And that content may become unavailable if “a third-party rights’ holder revokes or modifies Amazon’s license.” Amazon also points out that this is in the site’s user agreement, and is presented to customers every time they buy digital content. And whether you read that agreement or not . . . and we all know we don’t . . . you’re bound by it.

You’ve heard the debates about when it’s time to put up your Christmas decorations, and when it’s okay to start playing Christmas music. But this is something new. According to a new survey, a startling number of people have already started watching holiday MOVIES. One in three people say they’ve already watched a Christmas flick, and of those, 40% said they started watching in October. Which begs the question: When did the others start? 37% said September, 20% said August or earlier. 80% of those who started early say they think they’ll need to find NEW holiday movies to watch this year. For now, the holiday movies people love to revisit the most are: “Home Alone”, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. And 64% of the respondents say they’re looking forward to the holidays more than ever this year . . . probably because the pandemic has put such a damper on things. That, or maybe people just want to skip to the end of 2020.
If DEEP FAKES still don’t concern you, they might after you watch the new project from “South Park” creators TREY PARKER and MATT STONE. It’s called “Sassy Justice”, and it’s a fake news show where everyone is a realistic-looking deep fake . . . including star Fred Sassy, who has DONALD TRUMP’s face, but an effeminate voice. TOM BRADY and BEN ROETHLISBERGER are very close to becoming the most-sacked quarterbacks of all time. According to ESPN, BRETT FAVRE holds the all-time record . . . he was sacked 525 times. JOHN ELWAY is second with 516. Roethlisberger is third at 511, and Brady is close behind in fourth with 508. So clearly they’re both on pace to surpass Favre . . . unless they abruptly retire. In fact, there’s a good chance they could become #1 and #2 by the end of this season. The only other active quarterback in the Top 10 is AARON RODGERS, who’s in tenth with 455. As much as it would be fun to say that opponents just enjoy sacking these quarterbacks more than others, being on this list is mostly just a longevity thing. Favre played 20 seasons. Roethlisberger is in his 17th, and Brady is in his 21st, although he only played in one game in two of those seasons.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred issued a critical statement of Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner, who came onto the field to celebrate with teammates despite testing positive for COVID-19. “Following the Dodgers’ victory, it is clear that Turner chose to disregard the agreed-upon joint protocols and the instructions he was given regarding the safety and protection of others,” MLB said in a statement Wednesday. They went on to say, “Turner’s decision to leave isolation and enter the field was wrong and put everyone he came in contact with at risk. When MLB security raised the matter of being on the field with Turner, he emphatically refused to comply.”
For a couple days now we have been talking about how Wisconsin had their first string QB test positive (twice) for Covid…and then the backup tested positive…so the 3rd stringer would be starting against Nebraska this weekend. Well, no need to worry about it anymore. Wisconsin announced its game with Nebraska will be canceled due to an “elevated number of COVID-19 cases within the Badgers program.” The Badgers have registered 12 positive COVID-19 tests in the last five days. Head coach Paul Chryst is among those who have tested positive. Wisconsin will now pause all football activities for seven days.
A “substantial faction” of NBA players are pushing the league to start the 2020-21 season on Jan. 18,. The proposed calendar from the players would make Dec. 1 the first day of free agency. The NBA league office reportedly told the Board of Governors on Friday that Dec. 22 is the targeted start date for the 2020-21 season. The league is considering a 72-game schedule for 2020-21 as well as a potential play-in tournament to determine the No. 8 seed in each conference.
