Tool apparently has something in the works.
In an Instagram post this week, Maynard James Keenan and company posted a mysterious video soundtracked to the song “Intension,” a track off their 2006 album, 10,000 Days. In the caption, Tool teases, “Coming soon…” alongside hashtags including #10000Days.
The typically cryptic outfit didn’t offer any more details beyond that. Our first guess might be a 10,000 Days reissue, though the album won’t hit its milestone 20th anniversary until 2026.
10,000 Days is Tool’s fourth album, and, for a while, seemed like it might be the band’s last as continued efforts to deliver a follow-up never materialized for over a decade. Finally, Tool released another album, Fear Inoculum, in 2019.
Fear Inoculum remains Tool’s most recent album, though they did share a 10-minute reworking of the Opiate title track to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1992 EP.
