Tom DeLonge says he’ll rejoin Blink-182 one day
Although Blink-182 is doing fine without him four years after he left the band, guitarist Tom DeLonge apparently still plans to rejoin the group someday. In an interview with Kerrang! magazine, DeLonge said he understands why fans would like to see him reunite with his former bandmates, adding, “I get it — trust me, I love Blink and it’s given me everything in my life. And, you know, I plan on doing it in the future.”
But DeLonge added that a reunion could only take place in the future, explaining, “Right now there’s just no way — I have way too much going on because Angels & Airwaves is a part of To The Stars, and that’s why it works.”
DeLonge is prepping Angels & Airwaves’ first tour in seven years and is releasing new music from that band, while also continuing to oversee books, proposed movies and his To The Stars science academy dedicated to the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence.
Blink, meanwhile, scored a Number One album in 2016 with California, its first post-DeLonge LP, and recently released a new song called “Blame It On My Youth.” A new album with DeLonge’s replacement, Matt Skiba, and a full tour schedule are both on the way.
