Tom DeLonge posts update on new Angels & Airwaves music
Singer and guitarist Tom DeLonge has posted an update regarding new music from Angels & Airwaves. After posting a studio preview last month and sharing a single called “Rebel Girl,” DeLonge’s most recent Instagram post contains the simple words, “New song coming.”
“Rebel Girl” was the first new Angels & Airwaves song in three years and is the lead track from what will reportedly be a new album and feature film project.
DeLonge told us that he only creates any kind of art or music to please himself: “I will never, ever, ever do something just ’cause the fans are yelling at me to do it. It’s like, I don’t do anything for other people, I do everything for myself. Maybe that’s wrong, but I mean, I totally care if people like it, but I really just do this for myself.”
Angels & Airwaves will launch a North American headlining tour in Phoenix on September 4th, almost seven years to the day of their last performance, which was September 2nd, 2012 in Bologna, Italy.
After leaving Blink-182 for the second time in 2015, DeLonge has spent the last few years co-writing both novels and non-fiction books dealing with his lifelong interest in the paranormal, UFOs and possible government cover-ups of alien contact. He’s also developing two TV series along the same lines for TBS and History and launched a think tank called To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science.
