The 1975 gave a shout-out to Rage Against the Machine during the band’s headlining set at the U.K.’s Reading festival over the weekend.

As previously reported, Matty Healy and company replaced the reunited “Killing in the Name” outfit in the lineup for Reading and its sister festival, Leeds. Rage canceled their U.K. and European dates so frontman Zack de la Rocha could stay in the U.S. and rehab from a leg injury he suffered onstage in July.

“We f***ing love Rage Against the Machine,” Healy told the Reading crowd, according to NME‘s recap of the performance.

“Give it up for Rage Against the Machine,” Healy continued. “If we had the time, we would have done a cover of Rage Against the Machine. If it was the other way around, they definitely wouldn’t do that!”

Healy also referenced onstage comments he made during The 1975’s Leeds set, when he reportedly said, “Being literally in Rage Against the Machine and having a gammy leg is quite funny.”

“I will stand by being Rage Against the Machine and having a gammy leg is quite funny,” Healy said at Reading. That is funny, but we love them. We love you guys.”

Meanwhile, over at Leeds, Yungblud made a surprise appearance during Bring Me the Horizon‘s set to perform their collaborative track, “Obey.” Footage of the rendition was posted by Rock Sound.
