Back in 2020, St. Vincent released a cover of the Nine Inch Nails song “Piggy” — with Dave Grohl on drums — to celebrate Trent Reznor and company’s then-impending induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. At the time, the recording was exclusive to Amazon Music, but nearly two years later, that’s no longer the case.
As of Friday, the “Piggy” cover is available via all digital platforms. It also comes with new single artwork that seems inspired by another one of St. Vincent’s heavier covers: Metallica‘s “Sad But True.”
While you listen to St. Vincent’s “Piggy,” you can look forward to her just-announced week-long residency on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The “Los Ageless” artist will be sitting in with Grammy-winner and Late Show bandleader Jon Batiste and his group, Stay Human, beginning this Monday, July 25.
St. Vincent released her latest album, Daddy’s Home, in May 2021.
