  • Coldplay debuted a new country song, “Houston,” as a tribute to the city that continues to endure the
deluge of Hurricane Harvey. The band performed the track in Miami on Monday (August 28th), just days after the storm forced them to postpone their Friday (August 25th) gig in Houston. Singer Chris Martin said, “If you’ll bear with us this is a new song and we’ll never play this again. It’s a one-off and it’s called ‘Houston’ . . . we’re gonna send it over there to everyone who missed the show.” Coldplay plans to reschedule the Houston show. (Rolling Stone)

  • Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach has released a video for the song “Stand By My Girl.” The 1950s-inspired clip tells the story of a young wife who keeps getting rid of one husband after another, with Auerbach the next target as the video closes out. The track is taken from his latest solo effort, Waiting On A Song. Meanwhile, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney and his fiance, Michelle Branch, have released a cover of the 1971 America hit “A Horse With No Name.” The tune will appear on the soundtrack of the animated series Bojack Horseman, due out September 8th.
