Rob Zombie guitarist says new album is ‘best record to date’
Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 said on the Talk Toomey podcast that Zombie’s forthcoming studio album, which will arrive later this year, is “the best Zombie record to date.”
John 5 gave an update on the status of Zombie’s seventh solo studio effort, saying, “The Zombie album is wrapped, mixed, mastered and heavy and awesome and hooky and musical and badass. (It is) the best Zombie record to date — better than White Zombie, anything.”
The guitarist added, “He went nuts on this one. I’m telling you, it’s the best Zombie record you guys will hear. And we’re gonna have a big tour, we’re gonna do videos.”
Zombie concurred with John in an interview with Loudwire, saying, “I think it’s the best record we’ve made. Parts of it are the heaviest, parts are the weirdest, it’s the most complex record we’ve ever made, but at the same time, it’s always very catchy and listenable, but it’s the most intricately structured record.”
The singer told us a while back how he knows when an album is finished: “For some reason, whenever we’re making a record, as soon as I know I have an album, I just stop. Like, I never go, ‘Oh, let’s record 30 songs and pick the best ones.’ I’m like, ‘Nope, we’re done. We’ve got 40 minutes, call it an album, we’re done.'”
Zombie’s new LP will follow up 2016’s The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser.
