Rise Against has mapped out its first leg of North American tour dates in support of the band's newly released seventh album, The Black Market. The tour kicks off on August 31st at the Made In America Festival in Los Angeles, combining festival stops and headlining dates before winding down in late October at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience. More dates are likely to be confirmed soon.

Frontman Tim McIlrath told us he likes both kinds of shows: "They each have their own perks. The festivals are always a lot of fun. They're just like this huge rally of people. You get to play for fans that aren't necessarily your own fans. You get to go out there and play for people who may have never heard of you before, so that's always a cool opportunity. And then your own shows are more like sort of a rally. Everybody in there is there to see you. You know, they bought a ticket. You approach those shows like, I don't know, a little bit differently, a little more like a tribe when you're at those shows." :
