Muse jams with Paul McCartney on Beatles classic

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy and drummer Dominic Howard played a show on Tuesday night (January 16th) with their all-star Beatles cover band Dr. Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band — and were joined by none other than Paul McCartney himself for a rendition of the Fab Four’s “Helter Skelter.”

Bellamy shared a brief video of the performance on Instagram, writing, “Just did Macca with Macca #walkinglegend.” Bellamy handled bass and backing vocals while Howard was behind the drumkit. The band was performing at L.A.’s S.I.R. Studios at the unveiling of Stella McCartney‘s 2018 fashion collection, dubbed “Stella-chella.”

  • Also on hand at the event was fellow former Beatle Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach. Other high-profile guests included Kate Hudson, mom Goldie HawnKaty PerryDakota Johnson and Chris MartinReese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, and Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson.
  • The Jaded Hearts Club Band has done other gigs in the past, with the lineup featuring Jet drummer Chris CesterNine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin and others.
  • Muse was named last week as one of the headliners of the 2018 Bonnaroo Music Festival, scheduled to return to Manchester, Tennessee from June 7th through the 10th. Muse is also booked for the Carolina Rebellion event in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 6th, with the British trio possibly releasing new music this spring.
