Here’s something nice for you to head into the weekend: a cat “singing” Disturbed‘s “Down with the Sickness.”
This delightful curiosity comes courtesy of the wonder that is TikTok. First, someone uploaded a video of an adorable cat meowing in a way that sounds uncannily like David Draiman‘s iconic “Oh-wah-ah-ah-ah” vocal riff to open “Down with the Sickness.” Then, another user asked if anyone could create a mash-up of the cat and the song, to which yet another user heartily obliged.
Thus, we have the final product: a cat singing “Oh-wah-ah-ah-ah” in “Down with the Sickness.”
The TikTok apparently found its way to Disturbed themselves, who tweeted the video along with a crying-laughing and a rock-on emoji.
Disturbed planned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Down with the Sickness” and their 2000 album The Sickness in 2020 with a tour, but the outing was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
